Hey buddy, I think you got the wrong door, skyrim thread's two blocks down
If you want extensive graphics enhancements and script extender mods use MGE XE, if you want less shitty collision and to never crash ever again use OpenMW
level 1-60 is nearly unusable
level 60-100 is OP as hell
very few mods even try to address this issue despite it just being a couple numbers you have to change in the construction set
It works, but is heavily dependant on the mechanics. It's the least newbie-friendly playstyle and if you don't understand the mechanics behind it, you're basically fricked.
1. You need at least a skill of 45 + 10 points of Chameleon or a skill of 60 without Chameleon. Less than that, and stealth is practically non-functional.
2. You need Illusion as a major skill for stealth characters. The Chameleon spell is absolutely essential, even with only 10 points it massively decreases your chance to get spotted and allows you to leave combat after you've been spotted.
3. Detection is extremely dependant on NPCs field of view. If you've within 180° in front of someone, you're almost guaranteed to get spotted immediately even if relatively far away, unless your stealth level is super high.
4. Detection is also very dependant on your distance to enemies. Spears are by far the best weapons for critical attacks because of their range. Getting close enough to enemies, even from behind, to hit them with other weapons practically guarantees getting detected. At super high levels axe and blunt weapon are better, due to their high max damage.
5. Weight of shoes negatively impacts your stealth level directly. If your sneak skill is 50, and your shoes have a weight of 10, you're basically sneaking with a skill of 40. Go barefoot with a low skill and only wear heavier boots with top skill.
Alright, recommend me some mods then. I’m particularly looking for mods that add good quest/dungeon content or faction stuff, maybe something for Twin Lamps. I wish LGNPC hadn’t been abandoned
A bit fricked is still fricked so it depends on you.

That's a minefield you want to walk into, a lot of modded quests (especially those that are writing-focused) are shit but dungeons are ok. Just get Tamriel Rebirth and Project Tamriel.
besides the graphic mod there only one mod morrowind honestly needs. Where it removes the level up menu. Players stats are based on on skill levels and race instead. It so the not every character feels identical and the game is somewhat difficult for a longer time.

It still had a lot of empty space when I played it last year.
yes

>it's on a different engine so it's very playable
Does everything sync up like it should, can players trade items in containers, enemies have the same health and such?
Yes it works very well, still has bugs, the worst being the expansions which almost don't even function (but honestly the expansions suck so it's not a big deal) and maybe the odd escort quest doesn't work perfectly but Morrowind's scripting is pretty rudimentary and it's really easy to fix stuff with the console. The biggest issue is that setting up and configuring a server is really confusing when you're just starting out. Figure out how to make yourself an admin on your server and then when you get in game type /help in the console and read through the commands cause some of them will come in handy. Oh, and no save loading, so if you kill an important NPC you'll HAVE to fix it with the console or persist in the doomed world you have created.
>the worst being the expansions which almost don't even function
I like the high difficulty of the sewer goblins and all the good shops in mournhold, so that kind of sucks, or do you mean the quests don't work but we could still go there and to solstheim?
>Oh, and no save loading
How does that work if we both die, or quit playing?
You can still go there, but some of the quests won't work. It's been a while since I've been there in the MP myself. But feel free to go there and steal shit and murder people, that'll work fine.
Saving is automatic. Autosaves while you're playing and when you close the server. You just can't load saves, so you have to live with the consequences of your actions. If you die you get resurrected at the nearest Imperial Cult or Temple shrine, and the game treats your death as jail time and lowers your skills a bit. I personally hate this, so I go into the config.lua I think it's called and turn off the jail penalty for dying and I recommend you do too, it's too punishing (take a look at some of the other settings there too). Also make sure to figure out how the /ally system works (you type it in your chat box) otherwise escort NPCs and summons will attack your friend.

Well it's too punishing because you never know what you'll encounter in Morrowind dungeons. Golden Saints? Vampires? Seasoned bandits? ELDER vampires? In singleplayer you just save outside of one, enter, die, and reload your save. In MP you die and lose skill progress and get respawned across the map. It just doesn't feel like you deserve permanent skill penalties for that.

>permanent skill penalties for that.
Can't you just raise them back up the normal way? Isn't that a way to get better levels by losing skills to get them again so you have higher multiply? >Well it's too punishing because you never know what you'll encounter in Morrowind dungeons. Golden Saints? Vampires? Seasoned bandits? ELDER vampires?
I'll see how well me and my friend do, I might disable if it's bad enough, I am quite used to saving before a dungeon so I might be overestimating, not being able to do that.

>Can't you just raise them back up the normal way? Isn't that a way to get better levels by losing skills to get them again so you have higher multiply?
Yes and yes, though regular jail penalties still exist with this setting turned off, just not on any death. Usually me and my friends like to fight each other every so often so it helps having it off for that too.
The actual problem is that Morrowind leveling and eq systems are badly designed and broken and player can too easily reach top end game God status. So after a while those rpg mechanics become useless and redundant since you effectively maxed them out and playthrough gets boring. Before I even got to the new areas I was already bored of a character I was playing and I needed to restart. It feels like the game systems were strictly designed for shorter playthroughs, so the only way to enjoy those new areas is if you frick off to them immediately instead of sort naturally traveling.
Bare Necessities is still a big mod for hunger/thirst/etc. and nowadays there's Ashfall for people who want the in-depth survival shenanigans. Otherwise you might as well check out the Nexus to see what people are using today, too many to list here.

Necessities of Morrowind was nice back in the day. Ashfall is great though.
>Necromancy mod >Either slow and grindy and worthless compared to any other playstyle, or a glorified bone-themed summoner spell set that sacrifices the point of necromancy for offensive viability(that is still worthless compared to normal builds anyway)
Every time, even in the other games
Is there really no way around this? Can necromancy as a concept just not work outside the context of a more strategy-focused genre?
Necromany would be grest if it offered lots of utility. Need to know a rare spell? Summon the ghost of a famous wizard and force it out of him. Need a messenger/guard? Resurrect a creature and force it to do your bidding? Need to deal with a powerful enemy? Put a curse upon him using the bones of his ancestors.
Angry mob storming your lair with pitchfork and torch? Well, I hope you can cast lightning from the destruction school. Or that you have at least instructed your students how to get you back amongst the living.
>Is this weird?
Nah, warriors are way more simple and effective. You never have to worry about reflect and you die less from getting hit from random spells thanks higher HP.
>Am I missing out?
Yes, you don't need to play a mage but some mage skill as major and do the quests for the guild and the telvanni.
Lots of teleporting, levitating, and jumping around, calm humanoid and chameleon allow you to be a pacifist, destruction can end fights really quickly and combines with unarmored to save a shitload of encumbrance which in turn lets you run/swim/jump better. Telekinesis can be pretty useful for a thief too. And stacking sanctuary can make you impossible to hit for low agility/luck enemies, which is also why buying a few damage agility/luck amulets from an enchanter can be useful if you're going a weapon/fist route.
Alchemy and enchant of course, can break the game.
You could try just having a few magic skills to supplement your playstyle instead of going for a full mage build.
Command and frenzy are very fun. Telekinesis makes me feel big brain when sneaking. The best class/build in Morrowind is nightblade or stealth-magic, you cannot refute this fact, melee grugs. Illusion is fun. Pure offensive magic gets old quick, not to mention the times you'll get raped in the early game without metagaming.
Are there any overhaul mods that transform morrowind into a generic european fantasy setting? I really find morrowind ugly and don't give a shit about its unique "lore".
It's not bait, sorry I don't find muddy swamps, blackened volcano rock and bonemold armor all that interesting. There really aren't that many first person rpg games were you can pick virtually whatever class you want outside of TES and skyrim doesn't fit that bill. It's either daggerfall or oblivion or bust.
>All the new and upcoming shit for tamriel rebuilt looks sick >Haven't played since the release with Necrom but feel like getting into it again >All the factions I'm interested in the most are still either unimplemented or pretty anemic >Redoran and Dres is still way down the road, Indoril got cucked by them throwing their hands up in defeat over how to implement Almalexia, even the Temple is still just a handful of little local quests, aside from the admittedly impressive Almas Thirr conflict
suffering
It makes total sense tho, you are supposed to reunite all of morrowind in the main quest, not just vvardenfell. Currently the main quest does not aknowladge the existence of other councils outside of morrowind, which is strange since they must obviously exist.
Like, IIRC TR had to came up with an ultra moronic excuse as to why the main quest only mentions the vvardenfell telvanni council while ignring the rest in port telvannis for example.
It had to be done eventually.
It's honestly the only sensible solution if they want to keep the worldspace open, and given that anyone who doesn't like it can still keep them separate anyway, it hardly matters
What matters is that looking at Narsis and the surrounding areas makes me cum, as does most of the other in-progress work, and the concepts for everything beyond that
>haven't booted up Morrowind in months, decide to load my game up >dude is just standing on top of a mountain somewhere just outside the Ghostfence, standing over the corpse of a Cliffracer
Frick me, I can't even remember if I was doing anything in particular or if I was just randomly exploring. I specifically remember I found Keening at some point by complete chance even though I'm not very fair into the main quest as far as I can tell.
Lors opinion on what seems to be the popular route for the TR telvanni revamp? I think the regional concept art is pretty nice.
Playing through RoHT now for the first time and while it fits alright with the existing TR stuff, I do hope that something like RoHT gets made for whatever they're planning for the revamp. The joy of Telvanni is being a player on the board, after all.
I'm down for anything based on that dustlands concept art, but honestly it's all meaningless until they start properly developing it 15 years from now
Even the Dres lands had to be put off because nobody wanted to make the few unique tilesets that would require, so all of that stuff is a pipe dream unless they make little piecemeal reworks like the ones they're currently doing the norm

It varies a bit based on where you go since some content is quite old at this point, but generally the content is on par with or better than vanilla
Frick State-based Health, It didn't work with Obamacare and it will never work on Vvardenfell
troony. You will never be a woman.
?
Mods? You mean like Necessities of Morrowind? What do people install these days
Ashfall is great though.
both are for homosexuals
ZW?
oh, the full name is actually "better bodies zw" and I'm moronic.
Well that's because the ending would always be the gay characters dying from AIDS. No shot, gaylord.
ARE THERE GOOD LEWD MODS FOR MORROWIND????

>Necromancy mod
>Either slow and grindy and worthless compared to any other playstyle, or a glorified bone-themed summoner spell set that sacrifices the point of necromancy for offensive viability(that is still worthless compared to normal builds anyway)
That's because love can only exist between a man and a woman, and only from the man's side.
There really should be a mod that just scales up Vvardenfell, that increases the size of the landscape without adding any new content.
This isn't even how this format is supposed to work...
tes3mp server when
Wilburgur convinced me to play Modded Morrowind.
I've beaten Morrowind countless times, but never as a mage or Telvanni. I just like warrior and thief gameplay more. Is this weird? Am I missing out?
You're probably missing out since breaking Morrowind's spell crafting is fun.
Install Uviriths Legacy and Rise of House Telvanni, you're in for a good playthrough.
>gays are not sickening
Ah yes, of course, and you are the prime example of that, right?
All modded copies look that that?
Wow
What mods should I get if I just want some more quests and conent added in?
the more quests and content mod on morrowind nexus morrowindnexus.com/morequestsandcontent
Why do you have a decades old link saved?
That leads to nowhere anon.
What's your mod list for openmw?
play unmodded open morrowind
Already have. It's extremely boring now.Been trying to install Tamriel Rebuilt but not sure how to frick up orders.
openmw is a mod
You'll n'wahs don't even smoke moonsugar.
>smoking sugar
You're like that teenager who thinks he can get high off banana skins.
If you don't get the reference, shut the frick up homosexual.
Do you even morrowind bruh?
Are there any overhaul mods that transform morrowind into a generic european fantasy setting? I really find morrowind ugly and don't give a shit about its unique "lore".
Bait. Do not reply.
Oblivion is for you
but I've already played oblivion so much, so sad theres no alternative.
>All the new and upcoming shit for tamriel rebuilt looks sick
>Haven't played since the release with Necrom but feel like getting into it again
>All the factions I'm interested in the most are still either unimplemented or pretty anemic
>Redoran and Dres is still way down the road, Indoril got cucked by them throwing their hands up in defeat over how to implement Almalexia, even the Temple is still just a handful of little local quests, aside from the admittedly impressive Almas Thirr conflict
suffering
I don’t like their plans on redoing the Morrowind main quest and factions to integrate the mainland.
I added TR to my playthrough after trying it in MP and it was just a couple of extra Hortator quests (which I bypassed).
What matters is that looking at Narsis and the surrounding areas makes me cum, as does most of the other in-progress work, and the concepts for everything beyond that
>haven't booted up Morrowind in months, decide to load my game up
>dude is just standing on top of a mountain somewhere just outside the Ghostfence, standing over the corpse of a Cliffracer

The remade version of ROHT, right?
Haven't had any eye-gougingly mary sue characters pop up so far, so I guess so. 2.0, made for openmw, i think? So it's a pretty recent one
