When I could be bothered to download sims, I found it most practical to just pick one creator on TS4R that made sims and after I downloaded like 4 of his sims, I basically had 95% of the makeup and skins the dude was using. Made everything much easier.

There's no depth to TS4 whatsoever so all you can do is play through each XP's "campaign" and then install mods to become a groomer and frick dogs and whatnot and then get bored and do it again in 8 months
It's always too much work to reupdate all mods and get the latest update and latest crack. Easier to just go out and get the latest scene release + the latest Modball.

I found this game very fun when I was working to improve skills to get promotions, finding side gigs for extra money, going on dates with qts, etc. The second I got engaged and had to manage the chick too and her stupid dog is when it became soulless and was significantly less fun. Is there a way to turn spouses/kids back into NPCs instead of having to manage them?

the jungle area pack, in the middle left of the map is the entrance to it, near the empty lot and bungalow houses. The vines-covered gates force you to take multiple days to clear it and deal with the RNG of whatever situation your sim meets while trudging through the jungle to get at the gate on the other side. There are a few dead ends that are annoying but make sure you pick any fruit you see, it'll be useful once you reach the temple.

Very few good mods on the nexus, most of the best actual mods are on All The Fallen or Loverslab, and for content go to the /tsg/ thread, delve into the links ther, and be ready to open hundreds of fricking RARs and copy/paste the shit into your mod folder.
For more content there's the sims resource but that site has a lot of cancer to tolerate, and 10sec wait times for DL which gets pretty fricking tedious pretty goddamn fast when half the content on the site requires a nesting doll of MORE LINKS to DL, if the creator even bothered to link the shit in the first place

Sims is a sandbox, dude. You can load it up with tons of animation to fit most furniture and situations but you still gotta make your sims do shit and build relationships otherwise there's no story to make. There's premade scenarios you can live out at the start screen but none are particularly wankable and the most risque one I've seen is "cocaine cowboy" that comes with Basemental Drugs mod that gives you a goal of you guessed it, becoming a cocaine cowboy. add some sex mods into that and you can make a story of a dealer rescuing a ho or some shit. there's also a psychonaut scenario that's similar.
The animations people have made for Sims 4 are really good. Only problem I have with is that the actual simulation aspects of the base game are so lacking in that nothing interesting can emerge organically. Everything has to be forced into happening by the player.
Yeah, it's not like Sims 3 where gameplay can be pretty emergent and hand-off for the most part, shit has to be micromanaged if you have more than 1-2 active sims, worse so if they're at needy life stages.

Depends on what floats your boat. I personally really like the interjection actions in 3 where you can for example walk in on a showering sim, see your sim's thoughts and then attempt to join in the shower. With 4 it's all just kinda staged with player inputs. Sure, you can tell your sims to frick in a shower but it's not the same, shit doesn't even regen your hygiene meter. In 3 it's more in-engine and natural so to speak.
There's also all that other shit like rape, zoo stuff and the school roleplay with pervy staff, dick inspection day by a hot nurse included.
The most common opinion on the game is that the gameplay is shallow but that the character creator and house building is really good. There are channels on youtube where people do nothing but autistically build. If you like that kind of thing then 4 would be the one for you tbh

Sims is a sandbox, dude. You can load it up with tons of animation to fit most furniture and situations but you still gotta make your sims do shit and build relationships otherwise there's no story to make. There's premade scenarios you can live out at the start screen but none are particularly wankable and the most risque one I've seen is "cocaine cowboy" that comes with Basemental Drugs mod that gives you a goal of you guessed it, becoming a cocaine cowboy. add some sex mods into that and you can make a story of a dealer rescuing a ho or some shit. there's also a psychonaut scenario that's similar.
The animations people have made for Sims 4 are really good. Only problem I have with is that the actual simulation aspects of the base game are so lacking in that nothing interesting can emerge organically. Everything has to be forced into happening by the player.
Yeah, it's not like Sims 3 where gameplay can be pretty emergent and hand-off for the most part, shit has to be micromanaged if you have more than 1-2 active sims, worse so if they're at needy life stages.

Depends on what floats your boat. I personally really like the interjection actions in 3 where you can for example walk in on a showering sim, see your sim's thoughts and then attempt to join in the shower. With 4 it's all just kinda staged with player inputs. Sure, you can tell your sims to frick in a shower but it's not the same, shit doesn't even regen your hygiene meter. In 3 it's more in-engine and natural so to speak.
There's also all that other shit like rape, zoo stuff and the school roleplay with pervy staff, dick inspection day by a hot nurse included.

3 has good porn mods but the main interest for me was the massive frick-off amount of content. There's so much shit in the game.
Also create a style, and the open world does a lot to make it feel much more smooth to travel and switch between sims that are at home or out.
