I haven't played the untranslated games but can you tell me who ends up being canon? The only girl I'd dislike becoming canon is Alisa because of that dumbass "blaming the Rean for falling on her" thing. Or are you saying that they left it vague as to not start a waifu war.
I think it plays them up well enough. It still plays out some of the scenes bit for bit but then follows them up in a more logical way. Like Rean and Alisa's first meeting is the "oop he fell into her boobs and she slaps him" and then when they meet up later she's like "...Okay, that was clearly an accident I shouldn't have hit you my bad."
Don't worry Anon. The entire series is immortalized on PC now so you can play it whenever you want. Just take it as a nice, relaxing and explorative vacation through a new world and I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
I would do it but I'm a massive autist that can't play a saga if I don't play EVERY game in relase order
Just give them a try, you'll get used to them in no time and they aren't THAT dated anyway. The story will draw you in, Sky SC is one of the best games in the series.
I did with the first one but I started at hard and got a bit burned out when I reached the first big city (the one with the big market at the center of it)
Maybe I just should play it on normal, but I'm scared it becomes too much easy in late game...

I'm the anon that has been binging the series, I've played CS1, CS2, Zero and Azure in the past like month and a half. Currently halfway through CS3. I like it a lot more than CS2. I think I'm realizing based on the games I liked (CS1, Zero/Ao, CS3) vs the ones I didn't (Sky trilogy, CS2) that I just like having a central location for the game so you can actually get to know the NPCs.
It's pretty fun to play, the story is just kinda okay, and it has one of the worst 'good endings' ever because it somehow manages to completely undermine the rather poignant and sombre tone of the 'bad' ending.
>next arc will be in the holy city of arteria >church's reputation in shambles due to child sex allegations >you are a group of not bracers tasked with fixing the church's reputation by looking for people's lost cats >something something gnoshisu >kevin will appear in a flashback
and you're going to like it.
>Anybody actually dying in Trails anymore after 3's fakeout of fakeouts
God that was so dumb. Like, sure, Olivert living, I can buy, he has too much going on to just die. But did ANYBODY actually die in Cold Steel 1-4 that stayed dead that wasn't a villain?
By the 4th CS game, all of the love interests are very explicitly 'in love with Rean and vice-versa'. To its detriment in some cases, because it means a lot of the girl's 'social link' style things are focused mostly on the romance even if you don't want to romance them.
Anyone here play it in 日本語? How hard is it? Are there any moments where dialogue auto-advances without any log feature? I'm low N2 right now and want to give it a try
Still baffles me Emma isn't the main heroine. Alisa is genuinely like the least important of all the girls, yet she's somehow the one front-and-centre.
Alisa is involved with Reinford stuff which I guess is important with its links to the secret villains. Emma was just as clueless about the great twilight up til now I think. Either that or Rose trained her wrong as a joke.
Reinford's connection to the metaplot isn't even foreshadowed until over halfway through game 3. Granted the existence of the witch coven and their role in the backstory only comes up at about the same time, if not even later.
Really this is all shit that should have been brought up in game 2, but they decided to just spin their wheels with the pointless civil war plot instead.
I'm playing through 4 right now. Just finished up the crossbell in Act 1. CS3/4 Spoilers below:
I'm still confused bout this curse stuff. It supposedly compels you to do things, but then also Alberich says even without the curse you would still do those actions so.. what?? Did Ash kill the emperor on purpose or was he compelled to for the curse? and how come there was no black glowing shit when he picked up the gun?
I will admit that if you exclude the parts where the female characters love Rean for whatever reasons, the bond events are quite well-done in cs3 and cs4 compared to the first two games. Hope that i could finish cs4 before hajimari is released.
i'm waiting for reverie to come out i alread beat em all
Fair enough.
*Towa. Sara is cool too though.
I fricking love petite young women!
I love my older cousin/homeroom teacher Towa!
she deserved to be the canon love interest. I will never forgive otaku haremgays

I have some good news for you, anon it's ||Alisa||
Look at this discordgay and laugh at his failure to spoiler.
Fricking hell man they had SO MANY good options and they choose the ONE wrong one for fricks sake.
>Sara
dropped.
>Towa
picked up.
How old is she?
She's an old hag in Japan, meaning that she's in her mid-20s.
To be fair they outright joke about that dumb cliche. Sharon says something like
>Oh dear, I'm 23. I feel death swiftly approaching...
I'm not even kidding when I say that Trails may be only case of "Japanese humor" that I actually kinda like.
>25
Walled
She's 27 in CS3/4 (explicitly said by her) so by current game year in Kuro 2 she's already 30, 29 at the youngest.
Uff already hit the wall.
best girl
Kys shitter, old hags ruin lives.
My backlog keeps getting bigger and I still have to start Azure and CS4.
Post her pubes now and i might
>t.
I keep telling myself I’ll start the series at some point and I never do
This has been going on for at least 5 years now
Don't worry Anon. The entire series is immortalized on PC now so you can play it whenever you want. Just take it as a nice, relaxing and explorative vacation through a new world and I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
post more sara
She’s pure fricking sex, and in no small part to Toyoguchi’s voice
I want to do it SO MUCH but I get physically ill at the tought of playing the trails of the sky saga, it's too outdated
Genuinely just skip to Cold Steel. Sky is fun for one game but massively overstays it's welcome and Estelle has zero impact on the overarching story.
I would do it but I'm a massive autist that can't play a saga if I don't play EVERY game in relase order

>it becomes too much easy in late game
It won't
It'll get worse
Just give them a try, you'll get used to them in no time and they aren't THAT dated anyway. The story will draw you in, Sky SC is one of the best games in the series.
I've been meaning to. I installed the first one and everything.
Hajimari isn't out yet and I have 100% oldee kiseki games.
I honestly forgot Hajimari is out in less than a month. It's been so damn long since CS4
I'm the anon that has been binging the series, I've played CS1, CS2, Zero and Azure in the past like month and a half. Currently halfway through CS3. I like it a lot more than CS2. cursed thread, but so are all the others
Yet another victim of The Curse...
🙁
Imagine how big those two will become when she'll get pregnant.
Did a full cheevo run last month from sky to cs. Give me reverie or give me death.
Perhaps not strictly on-topic but is Tokyo Xanadu any good? Been thinking of giving it a go
It's alright.
It's pretty fun to play, the story is just kinda okay, and it has one of the worst 'good endings' ever because it somehow manages to completely undermine the rather poignant and sombre tone of the 'bad' ending.
It's fun.
Duvalie
I'm on zero and not going beyond azure. Everything after looks like such generic slop.
Musse almost made me switch from Laura in CS4.
How many more excuses can Falcom come up with to have their protagonists do menial sidequests for the local people?
>next arc will be in the holy city of arteria

Who?
waiting for Hijimari
Sara was literally my favorite girl in CS. I would legitimately marry her IRL if given the chance.
No. The mc is the cringiest mary sue that I've ever seen
Do I get to put it IN Sara? Is dating her even an option? She looks too old.
Yes, you can date her, you can even make her your love interest.
Nice. Is it one of those "you love her and she 'has feelings' for you", or does she actually love you back?
Latter
By the 4th CS game, all of the love interests are very explicitly 'in love with Rean and vice-versa'. To its detriment in some cases, because it means a lot of the girl's 'social link' style things are focused mostly on the romance even if you don't want to romance them.
Very very clear love both ways. All the girls in CS4 are so moist for Rean it's wild.
rixia mao? more like rixia cow!
And that's a good thing
I don't know, I'm not 12 anymore
Just finished the first game and I want to marry her so badly
Also Chrono Burst is busted as frick
id rather do it for fie
Anyone here play it in 日本語? How hard is it? Are there any moments where dialogue auto-advances without any log feature? I'm low N2 right now and want to give it a try
Sara is pretty cool, but I play Trails of Cold Steel for Emma
My brother
Still baffles me Emma isn't the main heroine. Alisa is genuinely like the least important of all the girls, yet she's somehow the one front-and-centre.
Not like Emma is one either. Celine stole the witch role.
Altina and Fie are the main heroines
and the ones I want most to sit on my face
Alisa is involved with Reinford stuff which I guess is important with its links to the secret villains. Emma was just as clueless about the great twilight up til now I think. Either that or Rose trained her wrong as a joke.

Really this is all shit that should have been brought up in game 2, but they decided to just spin their wheels with the pointless civil war plot instead.
The witch stuff at least broadly 'matters' in the first couple of games. Emma has a connection to Vita, and all.
>Every time Rean eats something and Emma is present she adds aphrodisiacs to his food and doesn't even try to hide it.
Why is she so thirsty?
Rean is lucky bastard. haha
I thought she was into older dudes
I'm playing through 4 right now. Just finished up the crossbell in Act 1. CS3/4 Spoilers below:

Did Ash kill the emperor on purpose or was he compelled to for the curse? and how come there was no black glowing shit when he picked up the gun?
I'd recommend abandoning thread, Anon. You'll realize after a while how the curse works in more detail as the game concludes.
I see. Well I'll just hang in there a bit longer then.
Best of luck!
The war crimes curse is just an awkward writing decision. It's just kinda broadly explained.
I will admit that if you exclude the parts where the female characters love Rean for whatever reasons, the bond events are quite well-done in cs3 and cs4 compared to the first two games. Hope that i could finish cs4 before hajimari is released.
take your time bro Hajimari won't go anywhere
remember once you beat Hajimari you won't have any more Trails until 2025, savour the experience
