i played dragonflight for a few months but stopped after my guild completely fell apart. now i only see one or two of my guildmates online spamming mythic plus 24/7
Quit after 9.1, but I had unsubbed a few times between Legion and then.
I played legion to like 100% completion despite not caring for it too much (better than cataclysm) so I pre ordered dragonflight and still haven't touched it. My sub ran out like 3 weeks before it came out and I have had zero desire to play WoW. I don't even think I have it installed right now. I'm not opposed to coming back but definitely not right now.

There is no point in fighting it if it's inevitable, but there more and more methods of preserving or regrowing hair are popping up, so I'd like to wait it out for a bit and not go all Scorched Earth.

I don't disagree. It's a personal thing. I just personally prefer not being bald. Plenty of people are fine with it, I just don't like it. If you've ever looked in the mirror at your beard, or your eyebrows, or your hair and thought "this doesn't suit me at all," then you probably get what I mean.
Luckily, it's not that bad, and unlikely to get that bad. I got that shit from my father, and his hair thinned out only around the literal top back. The crown? The rest was still just fine in his old age, and it's still just fine for me. It won't ever get that as bad as that picture unless I go out of my way to frick it up.

WoW died over a decade ago. I've been playing on private servers for years and having more fun on them than I ever had with WoW past 3.2.
this, and there's always so many people that play the private servers that actually like the game. The retail servers are people who sign in out of habit and just stand afk refusing to talk to anyone they deem inferior.

Played WoW since release. Quit during cata. Skipped WoD. Subbed for one month during MoP and finished all the quests then did some PvP. Resubbed and played for a year during legion. Didn't play BfA. Resubbed for six months of classic. Resubbed for 6 months of classic cata. Haven't played since.
But in all that time by far the best time of WoW was the classic beta. Having that 20 then 40 level cap and running raids and cross faction dueling tournaments was magical.
You need to consider WoW is a game that's just had expansions added onto it as if its a mandatory formula.
The result was tonnes of shifting mechanics, gameplay changes and direction each expansion, leaving the game filled with more and more unnecessary content each go.
The game is dying a slow death, inevitable.
