Necromancer's Minions need to be reverted back to the open beta before the game launches. I've got both minion types sacrificed because I'd rather not waste 6 points to buff their HP and hope they survive long like the open beta's skeletons. What they could also do is when summoning skeletons or using the summon ability it should heal them to full hp each time especially with how quickly they die now.
They're rolling out a hotfix to buff them soon. They may not be as strong as they were but they'll be stronger.

Blizzard is fucking retarded with their balance as usual. The reports from the endgame tests already said that necro was the weakest class yet they nerfed them because they were good at low levels. They're making wide swinging changes with zero thought put into them. Probably using some stupid ass metrics gathered from the open tests that don't reflect reality of the game. Like clearly nobody tested the nerfed skeletons on any bosses or else that change wouldn't have gone through.

I'd say it was actually easier since I chose skeletal mastery over corpse explosion this time around so I wasn't using up my corpses on bs and let my skellies do most of the damage. Maybe I'd be okay if the priest did more healing but I beat it just fine as is. Hope they don't knee jerk again and buff it too much.
Ice Sorc was so much fun. I ripped through the levels with ice blast, and hydra combo with blizzard. Enjoyed my Rogue both melee and bow. I agree necro pets got nerfed a bit to much, but still I enjoyed this beta.

minions seem kind of shit, even with bonus health/damage so i just sacrificed them

No druid is objectively bad it is not fun to play the skills to not synergize well with one another. The game is way easier with other classes even the nerfed necro. There's nothing subjective about druid at all.
I played druid the first open beta and it was entirely miserable, what was worse is when I saw comparisons of how fast just about every other class killed the questline bosses to a druid. I get what they want to do with the Druid, I just flat out refused to try it this weeks beta, but unless they actually change the whole class it's going to just be a miserable class to play.

I did Werebear up until about level 15 and then respecced to Werewolf with an emphasis on poison and had a much better time. Werebear just can’t kill bosses for shit. Werewolf is much better, but my lightning sorc was still much better.
i definitely feel like level is arbitrary in diablo. After the initial leveling experience, there becomes a point where paragon drops off and with the amount of resources d3 had, id be hard pressed to believe d4 wont have the same. Getting small boosts in a free track that is available to everybody all the same wont matter.
Unless you are going to ultra sweat pvp, getting an easier leveling experience to level 100+paragon isnt going to make your life any harder. To circle back to the d3 resources, i see a point where people with less creative drive to theory craft flocking to third party sites to "net build" a character for pve or pvp.

Thing with Druid is he relies heavily of getting a legendary power otherwise you're stuck using landslide (unless you get earth-based leg powers lol) until then. From then on things become a cakewalk. It's too bad they nerfed leg drops (for most areas in the game.. hehe) so this wasn't as easy to do for most people.
They didn't nerf shit except for necro minions, last beta we got rained on with leggos which made every class except druid feel broken. Current beta is how the game is supposed to be. Plus necro minions not dying made tanky minions completely irrelevant. Now there's an actual reason to pick the tanky ones.

first time i played beta i played druid on veteran and had no problem reaching the cap, not knowing everyone was saying how weak druid was. i had fun with the difficulty. had no idea other classes were so much more powerful. i played sorc on veteran this go around and its so easy its not even a game at a certain point, and yet im told its nerf'd now. bunch of babies seriously. also just a casual arpg player, rarely doing anything beyond endgame.

You got a few cookie cutter builds same as everyone else, everything else is trash. The story no matter how great is done in a dozen hours max, and beyond that it's just an endless grind for loot, 99% of which is just a waste of time to compare with and shouldn't even drop in the first place. And the gameplay has all the depth of 5 buttons and that's it.
I'm glad I did it though. I was so excited for D4 a month ago. Now I couldn't possibly care less.

PoE is too much of a hassle to play. Trading simulator sucks (and defeats the point of the game as far as I'm concerned) while SSF sucks because while doable the game is still balanced around trading so SSF is rather tedious and extremely limited. It also requires you to piss away your savings or engage in asinine achievement grind if you don't want to look like shit.

Can't imagine the slog it will be going through the higher difficulties. 5+ minute boss fights every dungeon with the same gameplay loop of dodging 2 mechanics.

No you can also craft them. You are of course limited by available dungeons, but still all classes should be able to get one of two legendaries out of it.

Once I got level 20 gear going I could do it reliably on my kickster barbarian. I hate the fact that so many areas do not allow for a wall stun even if level geometry suggests it should be possible.

He's a pushover except for the last phase when he has 3 adds at the same time, but you can play around the adds fairly easily. All you gotta watch out for is the trap that keeps you in place for the boss to blast you.
Most of my gear was lvl 14-15 rares, 2 legendary rings, gloves and a helm. DPSing him down to the part where he summoned all 3 adds was easy but past that was a bitch cause the elites instantly killed my summons. I basically resummoned them just to lose their aggro for a moment and to get some more mana for bone lance spam then kited the boss around til he died, which got tricky once he decided to start following the shield elite

Mechanics do change and vary a bit the more HP the boss loses. Also unlike in the last beta, we're at a 5 level disadvantage and have barely any legendaries to our name, on top of class nerfs across the board. Thirdly, the boss can be killed without much trouble if you just go down to WL1 and aren't a complete goon. We killed it in about 9ish minutes.

I always have a tough time starting a new character because shit is so boring and you have no synergies. Once I got my dual wield barbarian up and running for infinite core skills vs. stunned enemies and I could kick and tackle enemies into walls for stuns I was have a blast. It plays very very janky, but fun nonetheless. I was basically killing the level 30 boss vampire up north at level 20 with no legendaries.

Lucky hit are basically procs. Every ability has a different baseline %. There also some fuckery where you can only score a lucky hit after a crit and then they can multiply each other, but that's late late game stuff.

This is unfortunately true. Anytime a build that's remotely fun or good will get nerfed into mediocrity for the sake of 'balance'. They do it with WoW constantly and just as heavy handed.
Not sure if it's because of the open world or pvp but the outlook doesn't look promising for fun builds to last beyond a patch cycle. I don't know why they think nerfing the only fun parts of the game is a good idea.

Dungeons will take half the time at max level, and it should be way less tedious and repetitive with the nightmare dungeon keys + affixes and other stuff.
What's a good sorc build? I mostly did ice last beta, trying out lightning and fire this time around but wasn't really feeling the former and fire kind of feels like it lacks impact. Ice at least brought CC and vuln.

The objective reality is that D4 launch is in a much better state than D3 launch, and if they keep up the 3 month patch cycle like PoE, then there's a very good chance this could easily become a 9/10 ARPG in due time around when they launch their first expansion.

Agreed, they definitely need to be much tankier so they can actually afford to make a tactical decision to trade hits and soak a mechanic for the opportunity to do damage.
Barb just needs a few small adjustments and it will be great. One thing for example is that they need to make Rend a 360 circle around you. It was like that in D3, not sure why the fuck they changed it for D4. Something tiny like that would go a long way.
They also need to realize that melee will always be weaker if bosses are going to have actual mechanics, so they need to be compensated somehow.

The open world boss had mechanics that only affected range though.
That's 1 world boss. There's gonna be like 100 other bosses in dungeons.
Ashava literally has fuck you range mechanics throughout the fight, the only annoying mechanic melee gets is the double claw rake after like 50%(?).
If this fight is designed this way, I'd imagine others are going to be the same. Melee gets the openers and a new melee centric mechanic is introduced later where range gets a breather. Or visa-versa.

There is a safe zone right on his asshole. If you stand in the middle the claws go on the sides. It's actually great for melee because the claws animation is quite long and he just stands there getting raped.
So what's the point of the hotfix if there won't be any time to test the changes? Doesn't the beta end in a couple hours?

All of those words, when you could have just written "I am terrible at the game" instead. You had NINE different chances to kill the world boss and you had 15 minutes each time, with the assistance of 11 other players, and you could have even dropped to WT1 to make it easier as well.

When it spawned last, we killed it with eight minutes remaining. As long as you have a full group of 20's it's fine. If you see some sub-20's hanging around, leave and come back to a new instance.

Also the world boss thing was actually impossible to beat on the world 2 difficulty, I had to knock it down to 1, turns out it wasn't me, they just didn't adjust it from the last beta, but nerfed all the characters, so it was ACTUALLY impossible. Retarded.

Why do Barbs and druids look like absolute down syndrome mutts? What mentally ill chud they have in charge of character design?
I think shit like the world boss might be easier with a controller, because you can just move your character freely with the analog stick instead of having to click the ground. With so much positional damage, and with the boss being so big, it's sometimes hard to get behind it and scoot up to its tail where the safe zone is for 99% of the fight. With a controller it's no problem.
Probably should have implemented WADS movement as an option.

I killed Ashava three times, helping friends during the second two kills. Just do it on world tier 1, it's a fucking cakewalk.
It was legit dogshit on the first spawn, but I don't know if they have nerfed it since then or if there just aren't so many sub-20's running around. I've killed it twice and it wasn't that hard, had plenty of time left on the second. About to kill it for a third time in this next spawn.
