Should I be playing Chris first?

Is there an actual lore reason for that or is Chris just easier?

He's a better character to start out with, Jills fine but you have to pay attention to the game and what you're doing

They balanced things out in the remake.
In the og chris was the defacto hard mode.

if your complaints are backtracking and managing routing, yes Chris is much harder. the other guy has no idea what he is talking about.

Look at the first post, the ps1 schizo is awake. Genuine discussion is impossible right now.

        Chris has less inventory space

People usually recommend playing Jill first because she'd got 8 inventory slots and a lockpick to make backtracking less painful. Chris on the other hand can take more hits before dying. You should take your own notes if you have trouble remembering about the different items and there is no shame in restarting from a previous save file with better knowledge about the mansion layout if you feel stuck or wasted too much ammo. Also don't worry about the lore, no playthrough is really canon.

Chris has more health, a 1 shot defensive item on most enemies (grenade), the lighter from the start to burn corpses with
But has less inventory space, so you'll more likely have to make more trips to item boxes.

Jill has more item space, lockpick that lets her open some stuff without needing keys, gets grenade launcher and shotgun early, but has way less health.

I'd say chris is a bit easier when you know how to play, but for a beginner jill may be a bit better to start with.

Hard is when you're new, easy is when you've learned.

      Don't be yikes.

I hate how capcom games lock higher difficulty settings behind a playthrough. I'm a veteran and breezed through REmake. Experience ruined forever.

Only hiking and mountain climbing were in the 2002 Gamecube release. Easy was already too easy, I dont get this addition.

It doesn't really matter who you play, just realize you don't have to pick up every herb and pistol magazine, even on hard. Try to pick up red herbs, first aids and shotgun ammo.

How can zoomers play and enjoy these huge ass open world games (i hate them) but struggle to navigate "big house"? I see it all the time.
