Not that anon, but what's your setup? I've been thinking about turning my station into a standing one.

I've got a FEZIBO corner standing desk with a couple of adjustable monitor mounts to help save space on the desk, plus a little shelf on one side towards the back that mounts on with padded screws and helps hold stuff out of the way, but within easy grasp.

I game 6 hours every day minimum. How the frick do you expect me to stand up for 6 hours

Having a good mat to stand on helps quite a bit, and you can always shift between the two if you get an adjustable desk, just do a 2:1 ratio of standing to sitting.

as long as you balance standing and sitting it should be fine. just replacing sitting with standing isn't ideal

I tried this once for a couple months, definitely helps posture and use a soft mat. I stopped when my knees started to hurt. I would recommend switching on intervals like what

Memes aside, gaming on pc is horrible for your back. I know its been said as a way to make fun of PC but the posture was seriously not made for gaming, it was made typing position. You were not meant to hold the mouse with fast movement for that long or cramp your hand on wasd for hours on end. I been playing PC games with a steam controller and its a world of difference and much more comfortable, im not going back to mouse and keyboard.

You need to lose weight unfortunately. Not fat shaming it’s just definitely what’s causing this. When I get fat there is nothing that prevents this when sitting. I know it’s actually a surprising degree of pain.

The woman in that webm is sitting down, so her thighs are flattened out to look wider. Her waist is also being restricted by her undershirt. That isn't her bare tummy when her shirt lifts up. You can also see the collar around her neck. She's wearing a tight shirt to compress her belly fat to look extra curvy.

If you stop doing the things that caused them in the first place, then yes, they do go away. Your body will absorb the extra tissue and heal itself over time provided you take care of it. Cold water therapy with sitz baths is a good way to flush old blood and lymph out and bring new blood and lymph in.

          Anonymous

But how do I know what caused it? Just sitting I guess?

Gonna have to figure that out on your own, lad. Sedentary lifestyle, poor toilet habits, stress and poor diet are generally the reasons people develop hemorrhoids in the first place.

Well in that case then it could be one of the following... fluid retention (especially upon waking or after a salty meal), allergies, smoking or a medical condition (such as dermatitis, dermatomyositis, renal disease or thyroid eye disease).

Hopefully you're just eating too much salty food or not actually getting enough water a day.

If you have these symptoms, go to a doctor and find out if you might have a pilonidal cyst. If you ignore it like I did, eventually it will get inflamed and you will experience one of the worst pains imaginable, like a knife jamming into your pelvic nerves. If it does get inflamed, you have to wait until it gets very painful and very swollen before they can drain it. Eventually, you will need a surgery to remove the cyst.

as someone who had one and checked on it early, the only reliable way to remove it is surgery, you can't avoid that.
if you want to know you have it, just look at your underwear when you drop your pants and check for wet spot around were your tailbone should be, that's the sign.

I was considering this, I need to stop buying cheap toilet paper and consider a bidet. Bidets arent really a thing where I live but we have kind of an optional one in every bathroom, maybe I should try.

    >tailbone starts hurting
you need to fix this asap. I mistakenly let pressure be applied to my tailbone and it eventually spawned a cyst

    >https://myhealth.alberta.ca/Health/aftercareinformation/pages/conditions.aspx?hwid=uf7691#:~:text=A%20pilonidal%20abscess%20is%20an,opened%20and%20drained%20the%20abscess.

this is what I had and it had me incapacitated for nearly a month. I went on meds two weeks into that month and at the end, the meds caused the cyst to explode and create a bloody shit smelling mess but it was thankfully all over. the worst part of it all was though, the doctor said to me (I was young at the time) that the cyst is like a ninja and that if it goes away it might come back. From that day on, I make sure to never apply any kind of prolonged pressure to my tailbone. Brief is fine, just not very long. REPLACE YOUR FRICKING CHAIR IF ITS SHIT NOW

      Anonymous

holy fricking shit, would this still be a problem with mesh chairs, cause the netting adds some extra support, but I do tend to sit in a way that still puts most of the pressure on that area I think, sort of reclining and maybe putting extra pressure there so I'm not sure

      Anonymous

I never got an abscess, but I got the cyst badly enough that the skin there is scarred/weird during a period where I wasn’t ever sitting. I think it’s just being sedentary and not showering often/thoroughly enough.

When I had this problem I by coincidence had just cut up and disposed of a bed made of memory foam, so I kept a chunk of it to form a 12” cushion for the chair with a cutout for the tailbone. No dice. The only not-losing-weight thing that helped was trying to sit with this exaggerated pelvic tilt so I was basically sitting on my dick/pelvis instead of my butt. But when you’re working you subconsciously go back to a normal position all the time.
