Leaps in technology require leaps in hardware. This isn't anything new.
A 2080 card simply does not have the brute force power that a 4080 does, and therefore it cannot handle DLSS 3.5 or FG anywhere near as effectively as a 4080.
You can, quite literally, mod games like CP2077 to allow the 40xx series DLSS/FG to activate on a 20xx series card and it is completely unplayable while cranking your GPU temp through the roof.
And yes, I worked my ass off for over a decade to get to where I'm at so I very much have a "frick you I got mine" attitude. I don't give a shit if you're too poor to afford the latest GPU so you can't use the latest tech. I was that way 15 years ago. I'm still too poor to afford a private jet, yet you don't see me screeching about how it's not fair that more wealthy people can afford them when I can't. That's literally just how life is, kid. Stuff like paradox games, doom WADs, a ton of strategy niches in general, tons of old pc games with active mod scenes still like mount and blade (the good one), romhacks, rimjob world, kenshi, Bethesda games, emulation of retro consoles, something like fightcade whatever you’d call that, super autistic racing sims like asseto corsa (I don’t play these at all), or even retro PC games stuff like openRCT2. Now of course you don’t need high end PCs for some of these and some you can play on actual toasters but having a PC from some time in the last decade lets you access most of this. But the street shitters and zoomers on here are so terrified of computers that would flat out refuse to even play this on a laptop and just want to replay the same 5 third person action games on consoles spouting off bullshit about how a PC *might* crash (it never did but a paid tik tok shill told them it might).

Literally the opposite. PC has access to thousands of older games that can be played on a very modest machine. AAA games are increasingly not even wroth the hard drive space allocated to them, but many older games are still fun. Games I spent hundreds or even thousands of hours playing in the 1990s and early 00s are still fun today, and they can be played on a machine that costs less than %$200.

That's the saddest part of all, the games are supposed to be optimized for consoles so it should be able to play at peak performance and graphics but instead they gave up and make the player choose whether to sacrifice visuals or fps.
Baldurs Gate 3 counts as a 60fps title on Consoles when it drops below 30fps in Act 3.
FF16 also drops to 40fps all the time and hits 720p.

Im getting pretty used to over 100fps on PC and i don't have to upscale from 720p like PS5 does to achieve it. FF16 looks fricking terrible in performance mode on my OLED.

Nothing stops Series S to run at 30 fps, and Series X and PS5 at 60 fps. But also Series S has the same CPU as Series X.
For GPU they can lower the resolution.
Series S was supposed to be 720p-1080p console. Meanwhile Series X and PS5 somehow became 720p-1080p consoles.
