Release multiplats to get more money, that was the plan with Bungie and that's what MS is doing with ActBlizz

MS is making everything ABK exclusives, they're only offering licenses for COD

Not really, seeing how they had already released Ori for the Switch and all their games on PC "exclusive" is something that they won't do anymore

By multiplats, do you mean multiplatforms. So that means that Sony supports the platforms across the board Pc, Xbox and PS5 or?

        Yes

Yes but this is not (or was) Playstation's strategy, and it could at least be console exclusive. We don't know what will happen with activision (if it goes through) but cod is not comparable to bungie, a better comparison would be Bethesda that will not release games on Playstation

Bungie make cool shooting game, people wanna play it, they put microtransactions, that's it, COD and anyother game they can milk it in multiplats WILL be multiplat, Bethesda is a different case, at the time they made the buy they said it was going to be a "case by case" wth the games, so while next fallot/tes could be exclusive, we have no idea

I don't believe that all games will be exclusive, since MS has to market its console accordingly,
and what is a good sales strategy, best through a bestseller title.

After that, MS could then offer it as a fill-in for sales accordingly across platforms in order to achieve the full potential of revenue.

I can't believe that people think that TES will be a multiplat. The "case by case" was just to approve the acquisition and they have already said several times that it will be console exclusive

Both are correct in a way, Bethesda games have been always better played on Xbox compared to the PS, but there is also the possibility that with enought demand they could make a PS port.

Exactly, that would be the ultimate win-to-win formula, so to speak:

TES is also a single player only game, same as Starfield. MTX heavy games that would benefit from crossplay would be multiplat even from Xbox.

Factually incorrect. They would never get a return on their investment if this was their mindset.

Talent. Bungie are helping Sony with their massive push into live service.
        Xbox buys IP
        Playstation buys talent
That is what's pushing the acquisitions.

if you actually played Destiny 2 in the last few years you would know they have no live service talent lmao

It's not like they could afford to buy Epic. Bungie has experience their 1st-party lacked.

          >Playstation buys talent
Are the talents only temporary or permanent then?

And with the Xbox IP, that is also associated with high costs, since such an IP is also legally protected.

Then the IP must have a particularly good lore.

Tell that to Nintendo, they tried to sue the teams making the 64 era PC ports

        Anonymous

Nintendo should not be compared to Sony or Microsoft; they approach the industry so differently and are truly too big to ever fail. If you can make a new console and scrap it within 5 years for a different new console - one which will probably top the PS2's sales numbers - then there's no point in assuming that Nintendo has to play by anyone else's rules.

it's all about starving out Snoy

        >"We're not in the business of out-consoling Sony or Nintendo," Spencer says. "There isn't really a great solution or win for us. I know that will upset a ton of people, but the truth of the matter is that when you're third place in the console marketplace and the top two players are as strong as they are and have, in certain cases, a very discrete focus on doing deals and other things that will make being Xbox hard - and that's on us, not on anybody else."
