most of complaints are contradictory
people are saying same the opposite shit in the same thread
but most of people praising the game appear gay so my hope dwindles
Snowrunner is already shit. Mudrunner was the last good one, then they changed the fricking engine and it's casual floaty garbage with dogshit made up transmissions
I don't see why this one won't be shit
To be fair I can't really think of other games where you can lose your balance and the terrain affects you that much in general. Or over all it feels like a more grounded approach, rather than jumping up cliffs, you're putting down ladders so that a river doesn't sweep you off or something
Can you walk around? In Death Stranding I kept thinking the vehicle handling is kinda lacking, and that it would be more fun if they felt like in these games. Might be right up my alley
I meant more specific mechanics. You can't tell me this water depth detection system isn't pulled straight from DS. And I think I might have seen that you can build your own bridges in Expeditions? Might be wrong there, but if I'm not that's very much DS inspired.

i fricking hate this place
Pretty sure that existed in Mud Runner. Let me find a screenshot.
The bridge building is new if true though. I agree with the other anon, I'd have loved a version of Death Stranding with more involved motor vehicle mechanics (and traversal in general) - stuff like getting bogged down in regular mud which reduces boot quality faster, etc.
I'm booting up my copy (on PS4, I should really get it again for PC) because I could have sworn there was some kind of thing for that.
Maybe I should get snow runner, but like the other anon described they got rid of the cool manual transmission mechanic that I loved. More 'structure' to the overall gameplay is nice but sacrificing some of the mechanical granularity bothers me.

I've not gone for stormworks yet, I've been playing a fair bit of Space Engineers lately. stormworks seems on another level with the scripting and coding for things plus gear ratios and all that.
None of these games really nail the feeling of trying to traverse a small but DENSE, boggy space like Mudrunner though. Nothing like the feeling of trying to save a few minutes of driving by taking a shortcut through what looks like a regular field only to sink into what is actually a peat bog, digging in up to the axles.
Mudrunner your progress is measured in meters rather than miles which is amazing.
Sequel of snowrunner but you can set up camps and build permament structures now
If you haven't actually played any other mudrunner games, go play them
Do you enjoy watching the moment your tyres start slipping in the mud and adjusting your suspension and differential to maximise grip to drive out?
If not don't buy any of these games because they're a giant mud autism game
Me and some friends do TopGear style challenges in BeamNG. We build ridiculous cars for eachother and then take them on road trips while putting them through different tests along the way. It's an absolute blast.
There's no chance it won't be shit. Scout vehicles have always been the weakest aspect of their past games and they decided to make a entire game out of using them. Their handling has always felt really off, especially at higher speeds and their suspension is always way too stiff, so an entire game using them to rock crawl sounds horrible. Mudrunner was their best game, and they keep getting further and further from what made it great.
>no good off-road games on the market
Seriously, I'm ready to buy BeamNG at this point. In Snowrunner your average speed is 2mph, Rock Crawling is in early access with no end in sight, all rally games are just regular racing games but the road is painted in brown, Offroad Mania looks like mobile game for touchscreensthough I haven't played it yet. There's nothing.
If you haven't played Beam yet, absolutely give it a try. If you have off-roading autism like me and just enjoy seeing your suspension work while crawling, nothing else even comes close. The trophy trucks and rally cars are a lot of fun as well, and you can spend hours just customizing and tweaking your rigs.
>no co-op
Into the trash it goes.
The exploration focused one isn't even co-op? Are they moronic?
>Co-op mode will be released in Expeditions as a free update a few months after the release of the game.
early access players don't sound very happy on steam forums. It's over.

They're clearly taking some inspiration from Death Stranding for this one, which I think is cool.
>Death Stranding invented traveling

Mudrunner?
Could you walk on foot in that one? I've only played Snowrunner. I was thinking more of the on foot mechanics
no. But I could name other games in which you travel by foot.
>no.
stopped reading there

It's ok to have a sook anon. Wanna tell me what's wrong?
>building a bridge is inspired from DS
please kys
Name a single other traveling game where you can build bridges
Pretty sure that existed in Mud Runner. Let me find a screenshot.

It did not.

Yeah that very much looks like DS lol. I don't mind, I really like that game. Don't mind having more of it but less scifi
Can you walk around? In Death Stranding I kept thinking the vehicle handling is kinda lacking, and that it would be more fun if they felt like in these games. Might be right up my alley
It's not horrible, but it's lower effort than snowrunner. Also the control and UI are ass
snowrunner on release was also kind of lacking, if i remember correctly it had only 2 regions and 9 maps in total, then updates added a lot of shit
3 regions.
Bump, still checking.
I'd say that I do want more traversal games like Mudrunner and Death Stranding.
Do you mind building your own vehicles? Check out stormworks if not

Okay, this is what I was thinking of, the MAP has the depth indicators, not the actual gameplay.
Qrd?, This seems interesting
Is the car atleast based on real life?, I want to recreate Top Gear Specials with it

These guys have been going absolutely ham on social media advertising. Here's hoping they saved some of their budget for making the game.

BeamNG is the best rally game though

I WILL buy it.
I WILL play it for 40 hours.
I WILL never play it again afterwards.
Game has been already pirated BTW
Bump
Hour til release
If any of you morons will actually buy it i would like to hear your thoughts on release version

>preorder listed as preorder in store
don't tell me they're going to raise the price after release
