Busted in a "Its carried" since not necessarily speedrunning
If they don't bring back blade oils for SnS I'm going to fricking FREAK out.
MOM I'M LOSING MY MIIIIIND
same i loved oils
>is that boring upkeep with zero changes to gameplay except stats
>CHAT IS THIS REAL? LETS FRICKING GOOOOOOOO
Why are zoomers like this
you have blade oil in rice.
can I get a weapon tier list for World
I went with the gunlance and it seems alright
Gunlance is the best.
You have chosen wisely.
Forget the others. You don't need to bother yourself with the performance of lesser weapons.
SSS+ tier:
>my favorite weapon
Literal trash tier:
>your favorite weapon
No, you're doing it backwards
SSS+ tier:
>Your favourite weapon, you carried shitter
F Tier:
>My honest hard working weapon that only true masters can properly utilize
Even better
SSS+ tier:
>any weapon when I play it
Literal trash tier:
>any weapon when you play it
these but unironically
what if my favorite weapon is also your favorite weapon?
then
applies instead
Long shelling is nuts.
Good, long shelling was ass in world. You didn't even get a long 7, and long 6 was barely more damage than wide 7.
Switch Axe is the most kino and braindead I should know I play it
Top tier: GS, ranged
Great tier: SA, CB, DB, LS
Mid tier: IG, SnS, hammer
Shit tier: lance, gunlance
>world sns
>mid
Lunatic
Anyone who puts lance not in top tier is simply exposing themselves as a blithering idiot
Nah he's right, I love Lance but its MVs are dirt low and it requires Guard + Guard Up to function properly. it only became competitive when Fatalis was introduced because the Fatty lance had shitload more raw compared to all other Fatty weapons.
>MVs so dog shit they had to give them the most broken Fatalis weapon
>Game is over by that point so no point
GS can't be top tier because GSgays ALWAYS whiff hits and waste everyone's time, they can't do what speedrunners can
So GS rewards skill the most and punishes lack of skill the hardest. So its s tier.
Where the Hell is Hunting Horn?
In the corner, spending 5 minutes dooting his horn so he can get average damage
Atk+ songs were a mistake
>In the corner, spending 5 minutes dooting his horn so he can get average damage
Attack Up should only be used mid-fight. If your HH player isn't aggressive and they don't know note shortcuts then you have an obligation to kick them from your room.
doesn't matter
all tier lists are only for highly optimized speedrun times which you won't be doing for a long time if ever
lance is a "slow" weapon for speedruns but it can still let you kill monsters faster if the guarding and evasion let you be more aggressive than other weapons
anyway GS and guns are the best in basically every game but just play what weapon is the most fun to you
funlance is best lance
the slapstick boom gameplay makes my unga very bunga

>Heavy bow gun with shield mods.
>Elemental light bow gun.
Then you have everything else. Just play what you like because there's really no bad weapons.
>b-but this weapon took me 15 seconds longer to kill the m-monster!
No, play what you like.
Bowguns have the highest DPS ine very situation but boring
Melee weapons ultimately have all the same time to kill a monster [+ or - 30 seconds at most] when you become an expert with them. Use what you like.
This thread could have just been posts in the vg thread.
Guys they're gonna bring back wyvern last right, it's been in the last 2 games it's here to stay surely
*Wyvernblast
Making wyvernblast a multi-hit is one of the most nonsensical nerfs they could ever add to World. GL is already wet cardboard and they had to take away the one cool thing about it.
I meant light bowguns wyvernblast, the landmines
I still don't understand how to use this pile of junk
Who the frick cares, I only use the most fun weapon, and because every single weapon has their own mechanic and can be used in certain way with certain build, every single weapon is fun in its own way. Get on my level, noob.
I’m using a hammer just like I did in World and Rise.
Charge Blade peaked in GU and I'm tired of pretending it didn't
>GP acting as hyperarmor
>Energy Blade
>Ripper Shield
>Limit Breaker
>usable GPs other than Sword to Axe morph
>Valor CB
The higher skill ceiling is welcome in my book but I'm also the type of person who really hates to see nerfs in general unless whatever I'm using turns the game into a walk in the park
I would have been happy if guild was just 4U CB but instead it got gutted and everything else just felt like playing a cope. I just ended up playing olde reliable (hammer) instead.
I don't know why people acted like 4u cb was broken in endgame anyway. Once you're fighting 140 monsters you're no longer getting AEDs after every GP due to the sheer speed of monsters. GS was easily stronger, nevermind HBG in certain cases.
They watched one AkantoreX video back in the day and pogged too hard over it
>AkantoreX
God this brings me back. I think I watched the CB tutorial like a decade ago.
They should have just done the motion value nerf, which was justified, not the other nerfs as well.
I think it was mostly a combination of factors that made it really good (strong guarding capability, really good an KOing, good motion values and even running element was great) that made it feel like it was overshadowing some weapons, which I don't necessarily disagree with. However, styles in Generations allowed for a lot more overlap in overall capabilities that just kneecapping CB was completely unwarranted.
Because nobody gives a frick about gimmick shit hyper xxx 140 guild EX zenith arch sexual deviants and never has
this. GUs CB is crippled beyond repair. ruined whole game for me
Fricking up GPs is super gay and ruined the flow of the weapon, energy blade is overrrated as frick and never actually feels good to land, limit breaker isn't actually as fun or useful as it seems, CB has always had other usable GPs outside of that morph with the multitude of roundslash routes and got even more in world and rise. Adept CB is one big cope for it all.
The valor axe combo and ripper shield are cool, I'll give you that
It feels like shit to use and I can't stand it in GU, which is a shame as I like every other weapon in it
>Valor CB
press A simulator
Blade
Love this hunter arts despite I need to facing the opposite direction to use it because the weird hurtbox
CB was hot ass in GU. They're completely ruined GPs and made morphing ass.
Thought this was SNS for a second.
anyways DB > SNS
Ok weeb
I just can't decide any weapon.
It's either shit or someone says it's too hard only pros should use it.
>It's either shit
Who cares. Typically every game only has one truly awful weapon and people still use it and do just fine.
>it's too hard only pros should use it
Who cares.
Being shit to me wouldn't be a problem if it meant just not being top speedrunner autism.
Only if it really makes you struggle to kill things and move on.
But it seems it's just the autism minmax argument so I'll pick whatever I click with next time I boot MH.
Tried to play it with Keyboard & Mouse but it gets crazy during fights.
>Only if it really makes you struggle to kill things and move on.
There's never, in the history of the series, been a weapon this bad.
Maybe LBG at a few points, really early on in the series.
Stop being a gay and choose one you like. Just have some fun dude.
>It's either shit
you can beat all the modern game with any weapon solo, so it doesnt matter
>too hard only pros should use it.
literally not a single weapon in the series fits that description. unless youre doing some weird ass build, every weapon can be made really easy
i will use lance
i will poke the monsters
i will never die
and i will be happy
I hope they keep sns and dual blades the same
they're the only weapons that don't anim lock you for 5+ seconds whenever you press an attack button
Its busted, but its also hard to use imo.
I got the same general hunt times as I did with other weapons, for what felt like much more effort given. Not sure where the busted part comes in, but I was probably using it wrong.
It does have ressources, and basically a royal guard mechanic that is necessary to master to tap in the weapon's full potential.
But imo, it comes with fast attacks, meaty attacks, elemental and status effects, explosion and good defense. Its basically a SnS but CHAD.
>SnS but CHAD
Ever since they added perfect rush, SnS became beautiful. Actual evasive counters instead of bullshitting your way through attacks.
Also, SnS can backstep in any direction if you have a perfect timing on your forward-roll-backstep. No other weapon can move in an L-shape like that. You can see SnS masters cling to the monster like glue while staying safe because they abuse that mechanic.
Gunlance can redirect backhops in any direction in Rise by changing direction charging a shell and then cancelling into a long backhop. But as you said it's a strict timing thing
IB CB is more fun than PR spam SnS. Rise turned the tides and made SnS absolute peak while dumping down CB forcing you to be either SAED spam or play CSS the most tedious way possible. Sadly I haven't played CB in either 4U or Gen.
>rise made SnS peak
Rise SnS basically has two moves, the infinite combo and shoryugeki, it’s shit
>I didn't play the game
In rise itself you played with shield bash combo with metsu as you could skip sharpness skills this way or as alternative drill slash combo. In Sunbreak without skill limitation people started to use infinity combos again having two variations, one that requires twin blade combo favouring elemental and the other using roundslash. On top of that PR is still good for big openings when running raw or as alternative to metsu counter out of guard slash with enough guard. Shield Bash combo is still viable even with infinite combos for the KO stack up or Drill Slash for elemental setups. Even Falling Shadow and windmill have their uses on elemental setup, oil obviously for sharpness regain. Give me one weapon that has more versatility.
>people started to use infinity combos again
Yep, and that’s all it is. Absolutely dumpster fire weapon. It’s more simplistic than literal gen 1 now.
You're contradicting yourself as you stated they also use metsu.
Exactly why it’s more simple than gen 1. One damage option and I frame counters instead of positioning
In my experience maybe calling it broken is a bit too far(depending on the game) But Guard points really do just let you bullshit through situations other that other weapons couldn't even with the nerfs in GU its a pretty safe pick and usually has decent to amazing kill times depending on the game
What's your least favourite weapon?
Mine's dual blades, I usually love dual wielding in games but DB in monster hunter is so one-dimensional compared to all the other weapons that I've seriously tried I just can't be assed.
either bowgun. I get they can shit out damage and skullfrick monsters, but goddamn are they not fun to play. boring as hell.
Both bowguns. I just find them boring and clunky.
Lance. just tanking every hit from behind a shield is boring, and i dont care what lancegays have to say about it.
The gunlance is shield, but the lance's primary defense is sidestepping after every few strikes. It's a very agile and constant attackign weapon. Stab stab stab shuffle shuffle stab stab hop hop hop stab stab stab hop hop stab hop stab hop hop stab stab stab.
Gunlance because I always feel like I have to put in twice the amount of work to get half the payoff.
Insect Glaive. Its like DB and LS's inbred cousin but with combo variety
*Less combo variety
Most of the weapons are one-dimensional. Singling out DB for it smells like bait.
(tiers in terms of my personal enjoyment)
>T1
LS, IG, SA, CB, DB, Bow
>T2
HH, S&S
>T3
Lance, GL, Hammer,
>T4
Heavy/Light bowgun, GS
Pre-5th would be insect glaive. I just don't enjoy interacting with the bug part of the moveset. But World onward, it's definitely bow.
Insect Glaive, it's the only weapon I don't have 200+ hunts with.
Insect Glave is just tedious work, but if you remove the insect, it would be cool.
Bowguns and bow
In terms of melee weapons, I like all of them except Longsword
>PvE
>busted
What? If you don't like it, just don't use it.
I'm more worried they go back on what made gunlance good and go back to stupid gimmicks like in world. The clutch claw move was hot garbage. Frick World and especially frick icebourne.
Hey Joecat! I hope they don't nerf your sword and board!

gunlance gang i require your attention
i want to discuss the best weapon in the game: the gunlance
what do you think about it? what do you love about it? what would you like to change? what are some mechanics from past iterations you would like to come back?
luv me shelling
luv me shield
luv me boomstick
simple as
I love the flashiness of it combined with the ability to hunker down behind the shield. The surprise mobility with backhop + evade extender is also nice. I wish it could make use of elemental damage as much as other weapons. Some form of elemental shelling or shells counting for applying status would be good.
>50 bajillion gunlances
>only a miserly handful have max level shells
Every night I seethe myself to sleep and fantasize about strangling that virgin rice-planter who signed off on this homosexualry.
>look up the most optimal way to play GL
>it barely involves shelling and mostly involves slapping monsters with the lance
fricking hacks can't be trusted to do anything right
>Fight Valstrax in Rise
>Struggle but really beat him out, fulfilling experience
>realize I was doing the event quest, which was the significantly harder Valstrax
>normal one ended up being a joke
oh well
I was disappointed with Rise because I've never triple carted once and I've done everything in the game solo. Baby difficulty game, albeit still fun.
Yeah im gonna start sunbreak at some point, wanted to tap out the base rise content. Its easy, still fun, but its lacking some fights that really take advantage of the bugs. Valstrax (hard) was the only thing that came close. World at least had Fatalis, Furious Rajang, Arch Tempered Valkhana Behemoth Arch Tempered nerg and Alatreon but I think that fight is poorly designed and showcases why the clutch claw is a terrible mechanic
All I want from Wilds is that they bring my Hunting Horn back to it's former glory. Can't believe what Rise did with it.
World and Rise are both super easy as returning players and only got difficult in the actual endgame. Began to struggle a bit with Velkhana, with Furious Rajang and Raging Brachy it actually got difficult. I'm not that far in Sunbreak, but I guess it'll be pretty much the same. But I think Rise is overall more fun than World.
The Anomaly grind is polarizing but I respect it more for keeping almost every monster relevant because of how materials are distributed instead of farming the same old shit ad nauseam. If you already enjoyed Rise more than World, then Sunbreak will be a blast.
Stick around for anomaly investigations because SIs are a real treat.
I think that Rise's changes were needed somewhat, but were way too extreme. I desperately miss the involved moveset, but I do think the weapon needed to be sped up as the game becomes more and more action-oriented, and the song lists needed to be trimmed a bit but made more impactful. I feel like part of the reason Atk Up is jerked off so hard is because shit like wind pressure has become less prominent and so have the songs that counter them.
Charge blade is awesome but holy frick is it unwieldy, the shield punch is the coolest move imo
Same with Swaxe, it just feels slightly too sluggish, Swaxe might benefit from some parry move
Rapid Morph from Rise fixes how sluggish it feels and I really hope it comes back in Wilds. World Switch Axe is all about trading in the late game where you just nosell and spam Zero Sum at every given moment
Sunbreak SA, IG and SnS are perfect and I genuinely hope they use those as the template for Wilds.
Gunlance too.
Sword and Shield felt a little too much shield either that or I play it like a completely moronic monkey and dont know what im doing, but it is still fun as hell
really hope they bring back Switch Skills, that overhead smash for Swaxe is so good, I genuinely can't go back
same with stuff like Blast Dash for GL, it just adds so much to the enjoyment
>Run Critical Draw
>Do nothing but spam the moronic overhead Smash consistently during a hunt
>It still does ok damage
that shit is funny
I hope they bring back the alt mode for GS where you did conbos rather than fished for TCS, even if it wasn't as good I found it way more fun
which movesets? you have to specify since weapons like IG change drastically depending one the one youre using
they changed that in sunbreak. in base rise the shield was overtuned and made spamming those moves the optimal damage route
Ah neat, I will look forward to it then
>which movesets?
I really like Tetraseal with the assist Kinsects, it acutally felt like the Kinsect was part of the weapon instead of some shitty upkeep mechanic. The aerial dragoon moves were nice as well.
I also want to add lance to this list just for bringing back adept guard, and gunlance for everything
Sns feels like ass to use in rise, it's clunky and floaty at the same time, I find it impossible to be precise with it.
Compare it to 3rd or 4th gen SnS, that thing was thight as frick
I felt that way in World, but Rise? It's amazing in Rise. I feel like I have more control than ever.
i dont want it back actually, its speed should be made baseline
Swaxe was fixed in rise and is given a parry too. It's one of the smoothest weapons in the game.
Yeah I think rise is like a 6/10 game but the Switch Axe has never felt better. Didnt like base that much so I didnt get Sunbreak
SnS, Lance and Greatsword for me.
Maybe some cheeky GL too.
reminder that Wilds will exclusively serve the Hunter dango again
Will we get a side of HBG wielding e-girl with that?
hell no, if you kill giant lizards you get to eat giant lizards
Miss me with that weeb sugar and carbs
The e-girl can stay tho
Wilds needs monster meat as a rare drop which gives great buffs
I want to carve a rathalos steak out of its body and eat it for that 30 fire res + fireatk up
Has nobody really made the realization that dango was the first step toward making the meals change visibly on a per-ingredient basis? Also, I'd rather take a food system where I can actually pick and choose my preferred skills intuitively over some convoluted ingredient grid that doesn't give any real information.
I doubt it
Real meals pre hunt and packed dango for refreshing your buffs in expeditions
I like the LS and SnS. Lance is pretty cool too.
You know what?
We need a new weapon type, so suggest one
I feel like they should bring back tonfa and add a ball and chain weapon
gunsword
Fast hitting dual wielding blunt weapon: the doubleshield
Steal switchglaive from Nioh 2
Yes, that includes Arc of Chaos

its a rocket powered axe, it would fit right in

no flippy shit and no major shit gimmick
I want it to be a "simple" weapon

no
close
I want it to be a mix of Lance, Longsword, and Greatsword.
Sounds like you just want lance without the shield

alright didnt know i only play melee put bladed bayonets on the guns and give them alternating fire slash combos or something
Thats gunlance...
you can do different things with it your being a homosexual
Hunting Staff
Basically a staff that can switch between rigid and tri-section modes but isn't designed around switching, you want to be in tri-section mode as long as possible.
In staff mode it's like a faster hammer with subpar damage but high mobility and utility like SnS, in tri-section mode it's a long range melee weapon with good damage, repositioning and sweet spot mechanics.
-The weapon is themed around being hard to control, and if you frick up you flinch or knockback yourself
-Hit targets with the furthest section of the staff for maximum damage
-You have to buildup into your stronger combos, but all of them allow extensive repositioning so you can use the sweet spot mechanic, avoid damage and continue attacking and building up
-No gauge in case you're wondering, the moves themselves carry the damage
-Naturally it allows for constant attacking and retargeting like SnS
-If you're about to lose your target you can either go into a holding pattern combo until it comes back, or close it out into flashy rigid mode switch moves
I've been thinking that a weapon with rigid/flexible modes is the right kind of crazy to be included in monhun.
I'm more of a whipsword kind of guy, though.
Sword mode
>Olympic fencer
>lunges, feints, retreats (no parry with your flimsy rapier)
>extremely mobile and non-committal but has the lowest DPS out of any melee weapon
>you can access whip mode usually by retreating (the tip of your sword stays in place while you extend the sword out with your backstep)
Whip mode
>extremely high MVs to compensate for sword mode
>about as immobile as GS
>if you hit too close your MVs eat shit
>hitting with the tip "cracks" your whip and unlocks max MVs
>about the same range as spread bow
>trips the FRICK out of your team, worse offender than longsword
Add a charged spinup move that explosively cracks the whip and we are good
Alchemy Shield
It's a giant shield that can be used for impact damage as well as extremely effective guarding
You move slowly while it's out but have a charge move like the lance to close distances, also like the lance you have step evades instead of rolls
But the trick is it can also be shaken to create Alchemy items that are usable behind the shield to buff teammates. It's not SnS, you can only use the alchemy items behind the shield. It's primarily a support weapon, but like Hunting Horn it can KO and do a ton of damage in the right hands. Use of Alchemy items can also assist in killing monsters even solo, like the Alchemy fireball and earplugs.
>big phial in the center of the shield
>barrel coming out the top
>plant it into the ground and hide behind it while guarding
>can use the barrel to spray buffs into the air like a sprinkler/fumigator
>shield punches and a wild spinning move with a finisher that blasts the monster from the nozzle/barrel
Musket. Slower/stronger than hbg, so ranged plebs can finally feel like GS chads
Take accel axe or tonfas with some balance/tweaking
I was actually also thinking something like this, but I was going more along a path ala king cerberus from dmcv. You choose an element like you could for kinsect and swapping from staff to nunchucks changes from the base element to that one.
I was thinking something like this, but more along the lines of the hand cannon from Wild Hearts. A slow ranged weapon that benefits from high uptime with huge burst that you get from weapon mechanics rather than a simple cooldown. They had a less bursty playstyle too, but MH usually supports multiple builds like that.
Omega Force's weapon designs for Toukiden and Wild Hearts are some monkey paw shit. They have amazing concepts but their games always have a ton of issues.
Would Capcom even want to add new weapons at this point? Sounds annoying to balance and to add for all future games. I think if they added one new weapon per generation only for that game would be cool
I feel like the selection of Gunner weapons are a bit weak. They could use more ranged options.
Giant shuriken / boomerang with throw attacks that and varying arcs and distances and leave your hunter vulnerable in place, and close range swinging attacks that are faster but weaker
Dual Maracas. Fast blunt damage and song buffs.
>shaka shaka shaka
>AYY CARAMBA
>Attack Up!
I really like surge Slash for elemental GS.
Blast gauntlets
>hefty punch moveset, short range but your attacks slide unless they hit a monster
>can block
>uses ammo like a gunlance which you have to reload
>ammo can be spent on a blast attack that functions similarly to wyvernfire and zerosum, sticking you to your target
>slow movement, but your dodges are replaces with a blast dash, expending ammo to explode and effectively demon dash
>blunt damage
>benefits from the explosive skills
>blasts are elemental and deal HEAVY elemental damage
like from RWBY?
Maybe?
I never watched it
They have to be big though, like the hyrule warriors gauntlets
They'll nerf hammer even more and I will still main it.

>>told for years that monhun is the hardest game ever made and casuals will never understand it
no one ever said this.
Every single monhun gay talks about how souls games are baby tier easy games and they shouls play a REAL game like monster hunter.
Monhun is only hard for people who expect to just jump in and mash buttons like a moron and even then there are at least three weapon types for those people.
Noobs were filtered by standing directly in front of Rathalos and never changing tactics plus casuls hear "Timed Guard/parry" mechanic and instantly assume its impossible to play
monhun hasnt been hard since 4u where they made it so it scales for solo play
No they didn't. Single player hub scaling didn't become a thing until World.
It should go back to how it was in 4U, where the SAED would consume the red shield charge
do you think Wilds will have Grimalkyne?
it will have little molemen
Do i need a bigger screen to play this shit? most of the times when i get near the monster i can only see its legs and underbelly so i can't tell what it's trying to do.
My man we were playing this shit on handheld screens. In 5th gen you can change the options to zoom out the camera a bit more though.

What do you take Hammer for Striker Dual Blades?
The double jump is fun to do. I like to play Mario 64 jumping sounds in my head whenever I do them.
Yeah because I really love the feeling of deliberate control being ripped away from me so I can spin like a spastic over a bunch of shitzones instead of the part I actually want to smack.

I'm a MH newbie and only played world on steam
I mean the S tiers are fun.
Speaking on Charge Blade in GU.
https://gamebanana.com/mods/487007
Maybe it's time to play the game again.
Oh finally thats gr-
FOR ADEPT? ARE YOU moronic??
All it needed is to restore it for standard Guild. other style have their own gimicks already
One fricking job. smfh
I get what you're saying and would have rather have just ported shit to guild, but I have a feeling there may have been some technical limitations and they had to work stuff around perfect guard specifically.
It works for guild you dumbasses
>This 4U playstyle only works for Charge Blade's Adept style so switch to that style to get started.
X+A Shield thrust > (S)AED
Hold R1 for standard block > AED
R1+X for recoilless GP
It just works. Just put guard+2 in your set and you're good
Just tried it and it works alright. Animation follow up is a bit wonky.
What's nice is there's no yellow shield when doing shield thrust into shield charge so that's a bonus too.
The hard part is gonna be in knowing which attacks gives what level of knockback and what guard level you need but oh well time for another GU playthrough i guess...
I will now play your game
Ah sweet it got finally ported to switch. I saw the MHXX mod but I refuse to play that one again since it's so much more comfy on ryujinx
i love gunlance in world so much but playing it in 4u makes me want to fricking kill myself
God I hope that Surge Slash returns in Wilds.
I hate TCS spam.
I just want critical draw to return to form, I'm here to hit once and run away
How do I surge? Seems like such a shit move that locks you in place longer than any charge and does frickall for damage while you're at it.
>shit move that locks you in place
Rising Slashes move you forward (Also do more partbreak)
Wide Slashes let you turn, Wide Slash 3 gives you hyper armor (No dam reduction tho, be careful.)
Falling Slashes are bread and butter.
Also, I don't see people mention this much, but Wide Slash lets you roll out of the combo quicker than Falling or Rising, so if you need to play it safer because the monster is currently going spastic, a good hit and run is Draw Falling Slash 1, Wide Slash 2, Roll sheath repeat.
>and does frickall for damage while you're at it.
Also, Your third hit does the most damage.
A proper 3 hit combo will do more damage than a fully charged slash.
NO DENUVO NO BUY
NO ENIGMA NO BUY
NO HUNTER ARTS NO BUY
NO CROSS PLAY NO BUY
DEATH TO SONY
forgot one thing
NO UNDERWATER NO BUY
If they don’t bring back the old note system for HH or at least let you set which songs your horn casts its fricking over. Rise did irreparable damage to that weapon.
I won't be taking questions.
its nerfed plenty as it is
I like switch axe.
Same
Good news, CB fricking sucked in Rise compared to the other weapons.
Everything else has a bunch of wirebug skills with superarmor that can just eat attacks without being interrupted, or outright ignore them completely (plentiful iframes).
Meanwhile, one of the two major defensive weapons in the game has a wirebug skill that can an absorb ONE tick of damage from an attack... and then get immediately blasted because there are no monster attacks that only hit you ONCE.
I don't know Ichinose has such a grudge against CB in particular.
I hope they will keep the World+IB CB set for next one. It was pretty much perfect and cant think of anything to change. Worst cases are always when they break flawless thing just to introduce some stupid gimmicks
>It was pretty much perfect and cant think of anything to change
Not needing the savage shitaxe mode for the full SAED damage
I want them to remove the manual sword charge and change the overcharge state to work that way.
I just want sword mode to be more viable and the manual charge just takes way too long while not being rewarding enough/lasting long enough
What's the "deal" with switch axe and gunlance
What's the purpose of Switching.
What's the point of shelling if it's so frequently worse than Raw.
for the switch axe going into axe mode breaks up the monotony of combat in a fun way. altering your combo path depending on how much juice you have or reloading your axe in the middle of a fight feels really fricking good when you get the hang of it, it's an excellent balance of resource management and unga bunga
>swaxe
axe mode for mobility, hard to reach parts, wait for sword mode to charge, launching colleagues for easy mounts
sword mode for big damage and thats it
you can switch between modes seamlessly and its stilish af
>gunlance
main strength about shelling is that you can hit a monster anywhere for fixed damage and doesnt bounce
bigger strength is you can cancel moves into shelling for quick and safe burst of damage and resets to neutral (eg for high to reach places rising slash -> shelling -> rising slash loop is neat)
sweep&slam is big commitment for big damage but dont rely on it when monster is not KOd since you are locked into animations
actually discard the "reset to neutral" part since it depends on the move you are shelling from
Nerf the following degenerate / cheating weapons:
>SnS
>Bow
>LBG
>HBG
Buff everything else because they promote ethical playstyles.
No one is gonna nerf your weaponized autism moron
You say this like the busted weapons aren't the ranged options by far because they have so much less downtime with the same or better damage and increased safety.
Playing ranged in MH is the only "You didn't really play the game" I believe.
This only started becoming particularly true in 5th gen because they didn't know how to balance recoil and reload speed around unrestricted movement speed. Sure, HBG was always pretty strong but nobody gave a shit about about LBG before World and Bow wasn't hugely popular either.
That’s not the issue either, ranged was balanced around horrendous controls. Now that they act like an actual shooter it’s not balanced.
Rate of fire (which recoil/reload modify) absolutely is a huge part of the issue. You're allowed unfettered uptime with next to no animation commitment on anything. Hell, prior to 5th gen, recoil down wouldn't even affect your rapid fire ammo.
Have there been any monster popularity polls released since sunbreak?
I wanna know what the chances are of best boy returning.
Yes the results come out like next week
Malzeno will 100% return as a rise rep. Most other, if not all rise monsters will be on the chopping block.
>Malzeno will 100% return as a rise rep. Most other, if not all rise monsters will be on the chopping block.
If this assumption is based on popularity, stuff like Goss, Magnamalo, Tetranadon and Lunagaron should also return alongside Malzeno. Those were really popular too
Tetra has a chance due to being an amphibian, Lunagaron is not getting in over Odo, and I can see them adding a new wolf over Luna back. Goss is probably not, he never fits the games progression. Magnamalo is so cucked in his own game I think it’s more likely they just pretend he doesn’t exist. He does have a chance if they want to “re-do” him but as it stands I’m not expecting capcom to bring him back when they could bring back that homosexual zinogre and give him a 15th alternate form
You really think Capcom cares about representing monster types equally? Just look at Worlds overabundance of flying wyverns/lizards or Sunbreaks roster being only fire monsters. They don't care about that, so there's no reason Lunagaron and Odogaron or Magnamalo and Zinogre can't coexist in a game.
Also, what does that even mean?
>Goss is probably not, he never fits the games progression.
Luna steps on odo’s toes. The instant rise was shown with a nip aesthetic people thought odo was a shoe in. Odo is more popular than Luna.
>world flying wyverns
Overstated, flying wyvern is the most common monster type they will always have large representation
>rise fire monster spam
This is a good point, but a lot of these are alternative forms. It’s not like odo/Luna which fulfill the same general role. They didn’t have yian kut ku and Aknosom.
Goss doesn’t work as a monster. He is billed as a later game threat HR7 in rise. At this late he’s a bit of a joke. If he was an HR1 or 2 shitmon he wouldn’t work either, as he would be too much. His beams are faster and larger than velkhana. Doesn’t matter in rise since all sweeping beams are so weak, but would be brutal in early village quests. He wouldn’t need to be heavily reworked and I don’t see capcom doing this, especially since he would need a snow map too.
Especially since this is the mainline series, I do not see wilds having you fight Goss at the same tier as something like diablos or monoblos, which I expect will get buffed from world to where it should be.
Anon did you not play sunbreak? Goss got dumped to like sub-rathian tier in G rank quests, they didn't even give him a sub or variant
>Did you not play the worst MH game they've made?
I didn't.
He didn't say anything about world
>The instant rise was shown with a nip aesthetic people thought odo was a shoe in.
Shitty argument, plenty of monster had jap/asian aesthetic or reference and didn't get in Rise either plus most new monsters didn't have this aesthetic either.
Only coolers want this shitmonster back
>flying wyvern is the most common monster type they will always have large representation
>unironically defending Crap I'm laziness
Frick off flag
>Lunagaron is not getting in over Odo
Odo sucked real hard and had a dumpster tier moveset compared to Lunagaron.
Yes, Valstrax won
The game has become too easy, I hope they nerf my weapon so I can enjoy the added challenge.
the game will still be easy, hunts will just take longer
I've been playing XX on citra to scratch my hunting itch while I'm away from anything powerful enough to run the latest games. Did most of the game with valor style and have recently decided to try the other styles as well as some different weapons I don't normally play. Been exploring switch axe, probably my 3 least played weapon in the 5th gen titles. Followed by the lances. I'm thinking I might boot up Athena and put together a Lance build. Could I get some skill/weapon recommendations? I'm a filthy cheater so I can create any charm needed.
Probably just the regular blademaster shit.
Sharpness+2
Razor Sharp
WEX
Crit Boost
Challenger 2
And whatever else. Ahtal-Ka's set makes it ridiculously easy to stack a lot of good shit if you're going to create a talisman..
So no Guard up or plus? I already have a set for those skills. I guess I'll just pick up a good lance and see what's up.
Pre-5th Gen Lance was more about evading than actually blocking. I guess if you can fit it, it doesn't hurt.
Next weapon will be a giant boomerang that you bonk with up close at about HH speed to charge it then the ranged attacks are big boy greatsword style attacks
No new weapon, but we get to hunt as Prowlers again.
Holy shit there is a billion umamusume mods for Rise.
just edit it back to its former glory 🙂
t. just edited the siege mode from rise to let me fire 15 shots without overheating when before it was 13, increased the base cadence too.
I could increase the damage but I think its alright, its just pierce that's busted
God damn Rise looks so shit.
well, it was made with focus on making it run on the fricking bing wahoo tablet bro.
Don't look at gen 4 and older, anon.
I'll be fricking pissed if Wilds doesn't bring back Gore and Malzeno. Both of those monsters are sick as frick and deserve World production quality
don't respond to me shageruspergs, he's mogged by Gore and should only return if he has cool white/rainbow effects alongside the stuff he just does from Gore
I love Shaggy and gore both. Except the 140 variant of the former, frick dealing with explosion mixups.
>First MH game where aiming isn't hamstrung by console or worse portable controls
>Ranged weapons are completely broken.
Funny.
HBG is pretty busted in Unite
All they would need to do is change how difficult it is to get to 3 charge, not the damage. If they nerf the damage too much, it ruins the gimmick of the weapon and you end up with a Switch Axe situation, where no one wants to use sword and discharge, because the DPS of the Axe outstrips it. But this is Crapcom, of course they are going to nerf the discharge damage and when no one plays the damn thing, they will wonder why they even bother having it as a weapon type.
ChargeBlade isn't even great tho. It's one of those situational weapons where in the right situation it's good but for most people it's going to be clunky shite. Like a worse Greatsword withb autism mechanics tied to it.
GU had the right idea nerfing the SAED, sadly they gutted everything else about the weapon.
World brought it back to form, but sadly it's just been cemented as a SAED machine from there onwards.
I just want switching between modes and making use of guard points and normal AED moves to be how you actually play this weapon
They will ruin gunlance in wilds since it's already perfect in sunbreak
webm unrelated
I think Im quite lucky to be gsbro, even ls got moments of weakness in sunbreak
