The negative reviews have nothing to do with PoE and everything to do with the game being unplayable for like 2 days on launch due to dogshit servers and LE-61

How do you even still botch a launch this bad with all the knowledge of it's consequences in 2024? Were LE devs just expecting that most people would play offline?

I don't think they expected nearly 200k concurrent users every day. PoE's all time peak is 209k on steam and even that was very recently. League starts are normally 100-150k. Other games in the genre struggle to get 100k.

They know how many people bought the game so they can predict easily. They said they have 2M sales so 200k is not that crazy for a launch

            >1 million jacking off congratulation posts in every corner and site
            >they can't even offer service to 200k+ players
            morons

This is not a strong argument. Last epoch has been "out" for 5 years, sales figures don't equate to CCU numbers like you think they do. Grim Dawn has sold 7 million copies but peaked at 60k players.

Grim Dawn have LAN and TCP/IP servers not a shitty matchmaking frankenstein servers 24/7 Online.

                >Then fricking explain what is happening
Exactly what I said in the first post? They didn't expect this many concurrent players? And there's no way to accurately predict since, as I said, total sales numbers over 5 years isn't a strong variable. They've gone into detail in what's happening in their discord, but I can't be bothered reading it all because I play offline and don't care.

                >Grim Dawn has sold 7 million copies
Except it didn't and Grim Dawn is not online so people don't feel the need to be there on launch playing with their favourite ecelebs. Also Grim Dawn is on GOG.

Hello moron-kun, the image I posted is from 2022 and yours are from 5+ years earlier. Even if you want to split hairs and argue that DLC sales don't count, it has sold well over 1 million copies and peaked at not even 1/4th the CCU of LE, so again -- total sales is not indicative of what CCU will look like.
                You are a fricking moron.

Grim Dawn reached 60k peak concurrent in May of 2019. It crossed 1 million sales in 2017 and hit nearly 3 million of the game alone, without DLC, a month before in April of 2019. So again, we circle back to: total sales numbers are not directly correlated to daily CCU numbers.

Why are the dumbest motherfrickers here so foolhardy?

And how many of those sales are on steam ?

                Anonymous

Completely irrelevant. Even if only half of them were on steam, which is being EXTREMELY generous to your semantic-ridden argument, it would still be at 50% more sales on steam than LE with less than 30% of the players. Again indicating that sales numbers are not directly correlated to CCU numbers.

Where is the source of how many Grim Dawn sales are on steam?
Where is the source of how many sales did LE made after launch?
Where is the source of how many sales did LE made in the last X months close to it's launch?
All you're doing is making shit up to defend your moronic argument which is false. Devs have all the data to tell how many players will be at launch.

                >Where is the source of how many Grim Dawn sales are on steam?
Already disputed. Even if we assume GOG has 66% of the sales we would still come to the conclusion that, proportionately, GD had fewer players with more sales so sales:CCU is not an accurate metric.
                >Where is the source of how many sales did LE made after launch?
                Completely irrelevant

That's weak. It's not unreasonable to expect people who bought the game 5 years back to try it out again when it hits its 1.0 or whatever. They just failed to plan and now they're getting fricked for it.

    >Un*ty
It was over for this game before it even started lmao.
You need to be a fricking GOD of programming to make a un*ty game with passable performance. I'd say under 1% of un*ty games with complex 3d visuals have passable performance. It must be legitimately easier to make a game from scratch without using pre-made engine, than to make optimized un*ty game.

As of this particular game, they simply never gave a frick, they just wanted to quickly get some cash from PoE business model. However, PoE has gone a long way to its success, and at least at some point its devs actually cared, so it never stood a chance with this attitude.

LE lost the moment they decided to have MTX in a game you already paid for.
