Me and a mate played this as kids and no fricker remembers it whenever I bring it up. We didn’t get that it was PO’ed as in “pissed off” and thought it was called “Poh-edd”.

Still, Doom/Duke clone with arse-monsters and a jetpack… good times.

before i ever played this game my friend kept telling me about it. he called it "po ed" and before i saw it written out i had no idea wtf it was supposed to mean. then when i saw the cover i thought he was supposed to be a louisiana chef or something named ed. because new orleans is famous for the poor boy sandwich (sometimes called po boy).
    >hey look, its Po Ed! make me a po boy, Ed!

      >po ed
We had a family friend who had a huge collection of random videos and games (I think it's because he had previously owned a rental shop?) and he had a few of these old longbox PS1 games including PO'ed, and I remember having the exact same sentiment of confusion and calling it "po ed" lmao.

This game was truly a product of its time. A real stinker with so many bizarre ideas that you have to wonder what in the goddamn the devs were smoking.

this wouldve been the coherent way to spell this, right?

    For what reason?

This was my gut reaction too but honestly, why not. Like the other anon said, these kinds of obscure and forgotten titles benefit way more from a remaster than whatever popular title that already has a ton of community support behind it.

They have a KEX Engine, gotta use it for something.

God forbid they use it for something worthwhile like I dunno... Heretic 2 remaster

You've been waiting for 20 years, you can wait a little but longer.

This is the kind of game that would benefit greatly from a remaster. Lots of neat ideas and off-the-wall level design but it's difficult to enjoy on OG hardware because it runs and controls like shit on the 3DO and only runs and controls marginally-better on PSX.

Yeah I'm glad more FPS games which weren't already on PC are getting remasters (like Turok 3)

They should do Killing Time and if possible that one fps Naughty Dog did before Crash(Disruptor?)

This game fricking blows, I downlaoded it because it was one of those games I remember getting like a 1/10 in opsm magazine uk and had to see if it was really that bad and yep it is.

Oh I know it, it's utter shit and no one in their right mind would go for this.

Stephen Kick's talked about wanting to do a PO'ed remaster for years, it's a project fueled entirely by passion and I couldn't see it selling well but I appreciate the effort since I kind of liked the game on 3DO despite its flaws. He also wants to do Disruptor for PSX but God knows if he'll ever be allowed to considering Sony owns it.

Kaiser also made an old po'ed mod for doom 2.

Heretic 2 was made in the Quake 2 engine. I'm surprised it hasn't been remastered already since that engine has been open source for 2 decades now.

Kingpin also runs on quake 2 engine, yet there is no working source port and the official remaster runs like ass on unity of all things. Things are weird like that sometimes.
