Point and laugh at this joke of a company.

Point and laugh at this joke of a company. Pokemon has the perfect setup for an open world MMO and they sit on it for years. They have the brand recognition, fan loyalty, manpower and money to make it happen. DLC for regions could have made them bank. No one's fault but them.

Nintendo has no control over this aside from holding the bag. TPC and Gamefreak are the problems

What? You stupid fricking moron, Nintendo owns the IP. There are plenty of non-gamefreak pokemon games, such as pokemon Unite.
The Nintendo dickriding on here is fricking crazy.

No they don't. Nintendo does not own pokemon and have no creative rights over the IP. Creatures and Gamefreak control creative rights. Nintendo is just the marketing, publishing, and distribution muscle.

I dont play nintendo games at all, but if anything, this makes me respect them. They at least have some level of integrity not to make a steamjng pile of shit just because it will make them money. This purely capitalist mindset is what destroyed the industry. Games havent been decent since the early 2010s and havent been good since the early 2000s. The more popular gaming became, and the more it became a legitimate industry, the worse the games got

If Nintendo EPD had any actual involvement in Pokémon's development, you'd be seeing very different games. I will say though, it's kind of shocking that Nintendo allows TPC and GF to release such poor quality games that indirectly tarnish their name due to close association.

    >dream about Pokemon MMO for years as a kid
In retrospect I'm glad there never was a Pokemon MMO, fighting other players in Pokemon games are complete cancer.
They should focus on making the combat more fun instead.

Why the frick you gays keep pointing Nintendo when the problem is TPC and gamefreak? the first for setting impossible dev times "because they have merch to sell" and the latter for sucking ass in 3d programming.

        NTA but:
        >grindy gameplay to keep players playing
        >microtransactions, cosmetics no longer free
        >no new Pokemon games get made because they would compete with the MMO

        >but that's only 3
        It's enough.

Most People play Pokemon games for maybe around 50 hours and then they quit, an MMO needs to be WAAAYYYYY more awful and grindy with tons of shit like daily tasks, log in rewards, FOMO shit, rare drops, reduced XP gain that can be increased if you purchase a cash shop item, etc. But you knew that.

You won't find a single MMO in the world that isn't like that.
You're a moron if you think Gamefreak would be the developer that fixes MMOs.

so are rare drops. but for a pokemon game, you'd just go back to the older ffxi style system with lottery pops for rare monsters. so there's like a 1/1000 chance that a pokemon spawns as shiny in the game world and autists will sit there battling them for days. then some new player will come up and kill it instead of capturing it and it'd be amazing.

They would make battles personal to prevent that from happening, it would be turn-based too so nobody could interfere.

Never understood why these games were so popular. Each character has 4 moves: 2 offensive ones and 2 defendive ones or something like that. How is that not the most basic b***h, boring shit. Any turn based rpg is better.
