>point out how weird it was that a bunch of AAA video game developers both western and Japanese all collectively decided to quietly phase out gendered terminology like male and female and started using “body types” at around the same period of time
>immediately get dogpiled, called a schizo, a chud, etc etc.
What causes this phenomenon? I’ve seen it happen even here on Ganker, the topic is off-limits for some strange reason.

Because it's a reasonable way to differentiate allowing for a greater variety of role-playing options and identities. It doesn't require a grand conspiracy to realize that there are people who want that option

tbqh famalam they ARE reasonable critiques, both that it’s type A/B (indicating that we are minimizing differences between the genders to such a degree that we don’t call them their names), and that one of the types can’t have their shirt off (indicating that, despite the aforementioned, we all recognize that the genders are indeed very different)

Because nobody tries to refute anything. It's just repeating "meds", "these <blank> are so stupid (repeating what they said and acting like it's inherently wrong)" until normalgays associate one thing with another, nobody still didn't explain how attack helicopter joke is innacurate, it just got old by itself. Why would a fantasy world have the same gender distinctions as real life?

      Anonymous

Because you said your fantasy world is populated by humans. Like in real life.
Why would a fantasy world have humans with the same number of eyes as real life?

      Anonymous

Because the narrative hook for the game hinges on an understanding real world humans came to about the conjoining man, woman, and beast into a failed rebis.
The hook doesn't work without men and women.

      The terminology did change though.

I still call my guy a guy since that is what he is. By chick barbarian has her breasts covered while wearing the same chestgear as my manly barbarian that has his pecs exposed.
It's basic male and female stuff shitposterkun.
      >terminology changed
Games are officially "apps" now, people still just call them video games.

Because this change doesn't matter and complaining about it only makes you look like a fricking weirdo.

Imagine if, when pokemon crystal released (as a random example), some people would shit their pants because you can play as a girl instead of a boy. It's pretty much the same thing here.

I'm open to hear you or anyone else's arguments on how this change could negatively impact anyone, though.

      >this change doesn’t matter

If it didn't matter, why would anyone think to change it and do so consistently across multiple games?

            Anonymous

            Because it doesn't matter.
Notice how no one cares and still says man/woman?
It doesn't matter, you changing words is never going to warp reality to fit your fake definitions. Reality will continually affirm itself and if that makes your values look nonsensical then that is how it is.

To let people that have no influence or power in life feel a fake version of it so they'll be placated and shut up so everyone can go back to having fun.
It doesn't matter to anyone but the ideologically possessed troony community so there is no opportunity cost in giving them what they want when it doesn't matter to anyone.

It's not weird, it's what happens when companies hire consulting firms to do things they don't know how. In this case it's being esg compliant. They may not need to make this change to be compliant, but the consulting firms are still going to tell them to do it because they're full of troons.
Like when companies hire consulting firms to do their harassment training and it basically boils down to you watching some shitty video.
Blame regulations, both for esg investing and shitty harassment training

ESG has nothing to do with regulation, ESG is driven by retail investor demand.

ESG compliance is downstream from regulatory based quotas. One leads to the other as a natural course.

ESG originated as a demand for investment products that excluded companies dealing in tobacco, weapons, oil etc. it does not nor has it ever had anything to do with political regulation.

Esg is absoluetely regulated and more regulations are pending

ESG is regulated the same way a lobby is regulated. Interests are effecting the process to funnel resources into ESG thru legal mandates.

Fromsoftware never distinguishes gender in their games. The female PCs are rigged to be men and have no armor designed around them nor body sliders to make them different from the male ones. All souls have this issue partially due to laziness.

Multiple armor sets are different between the sexes or are locked out if you aren't that sex.
