Compare this to the HOME renders where they pose the models in poses that reflect the official art poses...they don't match up like this

They have the same pose which isn't uncommon but they don't match.
If you were that confident you would have overlayed them.

Not my image. Cross your eyes and see how much they overlap. If you can't tell that the proportions are near identical and that the only changes were to show parts of the mycelium that you can't see in the model, I don't know what to tell you. It doesn't have to be 100% identical to be traced -- this 95% will do

Not him, but what the frick are even talking about? Did you just spout words without knowing what a single one of them meant? The mycelium are the analogs to the tentacles, and those are in the exact same pose as the model. The bulk of the discrepancies are on the cap, aka the pileus.

Are YOU moronic? Look behind the two mycelium on the right side - you can see the bottom of them on the model, but based on the way the model is posed, they look like they come from nowhere, while the art makes it more clear

Anonymous
That's a difference in the viewing angle/perspective, not a difference in the actual pose, let alone the proportions. I reiterate: the pose is the exact same, the actual changes are localized almost exclusively to the cap.

Where did I ever say there was a change in pose or proportions? Gain some reading comprehension.
All I'm saying is that the artist made it clear to show the full mycelia so it doesn't look like the base comes from nowhere as in the model.

Oh, I though you were implying that there was a change in the mycelia. Now I can say that you're just blind instead, because there's obvious changes on the cap too that are immediately obvious upon looking at the two side by side

I never said there weren't changes to the cap, either. My focus was specifically on the mycelium.

Holy frick shut the frick up both of you, this is a stupid meme. It can be traced and altered slightly, it's a digital image.

Traced of not, the art is poorly done. Odd color choices (the black looks too dark, leaving too large a contrast). The sliver of eye is worthless, since it's not even in the model. And what's with the little indentation in pic related? Looks off

Pretty sure they were trying to keep showing the little wave pattern the disc things have but it's shittily done so it just looks like a nub.

If the art is traced from the model why does the model have better posing and colors?

It can be traced and still changed, dipshit

Why would they trace it and then deliberately make it worse?
I think the art being so heavily based on the model is because the line was very likely a last minute addition and it was easier/quicker to use the model in the pose as a reference.
Do you morons really think they model these pokemon before they design them and create an official art? They obviously draw and have tons of art for the mons prior to when modeling starts, and then they base the 3D model on that art
Has it ever occurred to you that the order might go concept art > model > official art?
Compare the Home posing to the official art for previous generations, it's much different than the model and official art of Toedscruel.
So you really do think the official art is the concept art.
Wow.

God fricking damn it anon. Why are you stupid.
It goes
Concept > final aka official > model
If everything went iff off the initial concept art then there wouldn't be any design consistency.
I'm actually pretty sure this has been confirmed somewhere, as Sugimori has been doing the 'final' art since the beginning. He doesn't do concept designs anymore and draws the final art based on the concept turnarounds AND the ingame models.
Do you morons really think they model these pokemon before they design them and create an official art? They obviously draw and have tons of art for the mons prior to when modeling starts, and then they base the 3D model on that art
What makes you think these drawings are the ones they base the models off of? Have you never seen what real concept art looks like?
I have always loved the Dream World art style so much more than official art. The colors pop more than the official and the poses are fun. I'm glad they're at least used in Unite, so there's at least an excuse to make some for all new pokemon. I don't think I've seen it anywhere else than that, however.
>I'm glad they're at least used in Unite, so there's at least an excuse to make some for all new pokemon.
They always make all mons in that style and consistently use them in different campaigns.
Many of them are japan only but they're there.
Before ANY c**t outside Game Freak's new Gen development team sees ANY new pokémon designs, they're already finalised and officially drawn. This means before any model gets created, the modellers are working from official final art.
Sorry kid, the Gen 7 starter leak proves it - the key Primarina art happens to have its offial art pose, along with various other poses and detailing. We know they don't send this shit out to the various departments until after creation, meaning no c**t sees a new design, until Game Freak sign it off as part of their canon (because they don't bother sending half-baked and shitty ideas to the modellers, only to cut them later in production).
Stop huffing the moron gas they spew around here..
Farigiraf's design just clicked with me
I really really like it now

Welcome to the patrician's club, friend.
You'll get your complimentary stepladder in the mail.
Sauce me up daddy, so far its just been the Starters & Cetitan
Cetitan's design just unlocked with me
I fricking hate it now thanks
It looks so fricking ugly wtf

Perfect art. So happy Girafarig won with Firagiraf.
inb4 traceschizos have another meltdown
"traced"
Bogleech has mind-broken this man. Literally always the Dream World art's had completely different poses or angles, even with shit like Klink
Toedscruel was 100% traced. Don't be an idiot.
