Good thing you can just ignore the MMO aspect of the game
Most people play PokeMMO because it's an updated way to play gens 1-5 in a connected way, and with a better engine and AI/teams
it kinda removes a SLIGHT bit like the animations when you heal at a pokemon center, which makes it seem less authentic and polished, but saves time at least. also they added tons of shit so it's not like playing the real game, but definitely feels like an mmo version of them.
>There's not a single shred of actual cooperative content to be found unless you count trading.
That's really not very different compared to modern MMOs which are all designed to be extremely solo-friendly.
if you hate mmos then there's no reason to play besides the fact that it's kind of interesting how you can take an item finder or starter from one gen to another. every region has a level cap so you kind of have to make a new team unless you plan ahead.
I've seen this shit being talked about for so long. What MMO aspects does it have beyond simply seeing other players in the game worlds? The fact that it's an MMO implies there's an economy of some kind which has me assuming the game would be grindy as frick and full of botters/cheaters which would mean you can't keep up unless you also cheat.
there's a trade thing where you can buy items you search for and you can buy/trade pokemon like that too so people try to breed and buy/sell good iv pokemon
>PvP >trading >party system >guild system >GTL (basically the Grand Exchange from Runescape where you can sell any item/pokemon directly to players)
And what is the economy like? I'm assuming pokedollars are the main currency but does it have any money sinks or ways to slow inevitable inflation? There really isn't anything to dump excess money on in the main games other than loading up on 99 Full Restores for the hell of it so I'm curious as to what actual value the currency has unless they've cut all the money earned from trainer battles down to a hundredth of the original value or something.
idk I've only been playing less than a week actually but nonstop. you buy rare shiny pokemon with good stats basically for like, 1 bil or whatever. a shiny is 1.2m minimum for the cheapest one. you mostly buy pokemon I think.
oh and rare old cosmetics are worth hundreds of millions. the only thing is I think you can get 7 mil worth of shit if you buy some shit on the shop and sell it worth like 25 bucks but I'm f2ping it for now and not gonna whale this ever
The main money sink is breeding since you lose the parents after a breed, although as a bonus you have much more control at what the bred Pokemon comes out as. Because of that the demand for Pokemon is always high and there's people always willing to buy and sell Pokemon
There's other sinks like buying cosmetics and items, mainly Pokeballs.
It's hard to talk about the economy but because bots are pretty well moderated, ingame money still has valuable and it isn't too hard to get what you need. You can breed a 2x31 for maybe around 200k total or a 2x30 for like 100k, even Garchomp who has the biggest presence in pvp. For context you can easily make 200k-300k daily from just rebattling gym leaders in every region and even more if you have the time to battle npcs aswell. A regular Pokemon is usually like 1200-2000 Pokeyen if you don't care about nature of IVs
The late game whale money sinks are buying 5x31 Pokemon directly instead of breeding or buying old vanity items but even that is usually attainable for anyone willing to spend 2-3 hours a day doing rebattles, with the exception of really old cosmetics from limited events. Shinies are also very valuable because of their 1/30k rarity and guaranteed 1x31 in a random IV, and most people prefer to keep theirs
the economy is shit because you're competing with chinks who spend their lives grinding.
literal bots will buy anything under market price and resell it at a higher cost, meaning prices are never ever going to drop. (there's a reason that shit is illegal irl)
A marketplace you can use to sell/buy items or pokemon on, guilds to meet and chat with others, and just being able to see other players around and talk with them or battle them. Since they're trying to make it a mmo they changed stuff around to make it more grindy in a way like shinies being 1/30k chance to find or some shit like that, tms being 1 time use unless you find/buy more, you losing the parents you used for breeding meaning you'll constantly have to catch pokemon with good ivs if you're trying for 30/31 perfect ivs on a bred mon.
you pretty much play the story of each game but there are other people you could trade or battle at any time around so it's fun to play along with a friend and you can just trade each other alakazam and gengar or whatever. you can start in whichever region you want. there are also alpha pokemon and other mechanics they added but it seems good. it has like all the mechanics and more. and you can put items/abilities on hotkeys like sweet scent on 1 2 3 4 5 etc
it has sevii islands storylines from fire red, and i think the johto version is hgss so i guess it has the extra story from that. also i think it uses emerald, platinum, then black or white
That's literally the only thing you can do. Chat is ignorable and there's no reason whatsoever to interact with other players unless you want something specific from the marketboard. There's no co-op content, just PvP fighting over legendaries for endgame. The only thing I'll give it is that it's a romp through Gen 1-5 regions and presents a mild challenge by enforcing level caps, but every region still has a single Pokemon that steamrolls the game regardless.
>There's not a single shred of actual cooperative content to be found unless you count trading.
That's really not very different compared to modern MMOs which are all designed to be extremely solo-friendly.
idk what MMO's you play but if you do more than just the main story almost all of them do in fact have multiplayer content that cannot be soloed. MMO's have made their stories more accessible but pretending there's no multiplayer content at all is moronic. PokeMMO basically has nothing but PvP.
So I should just play Showdown instead? It's better for PvP in basically every way if that's the only thing I care about.
>pretending there's no multiplayer content at all is moronic
I never said that. I was just pointing out the fact that it is the direction MMOs have taken. Playerbases as well. They're becoming more and more solo friendly and more and more players are opting to play that way rather than do group content.
A large part of the reason why cooperation happens at all is because of game design forcing the player into it. Personally I'd be happy to play an MMO where I almost never had to rely on a group of morons dragging me down purely because the number dictate I need fodder. That's not to say I wouldn't want any group content at all; there are certain things that you can't do without a certain number of players present and I enjoy difficult end-game content. I hate being forced to go through trivial or mundane shit while tard wrangling though. Pokémon is not a series that allows for good group-oriented content. It's a turn based RPG therefor it doesn't really gain anything from having group content other than to exist as something people can point at and say "look, this content exists."
If there's no group content at all, nothing that players can team up to beat whether it's optional or mandatory, it's not really an MMO. Even some of the worst MMO's out there have this figured out. Meanwhile PokeMMO is genuinely a singleplayer game outside of PvP, it just has a chatbox. If I play a singleplayer game and have a text chat up in another window am I now playing an MMO? Is a fighting game with a lobby an MMO?
My friend is asking me for help constantly so there is co-op kek
So why would I play this over an actual Pokemon game?

But it's not an MMO
>Even some of the worst MMO's out there have this figured out.
Direct me to a good, typical JRPG turn based battle MMO that has engaging multiplayer content which isn't just number-inflated bullshit like we see in more recent Pokémon games because that's literally the same content you're doing solo except you have to hope some morons don't frick things up.
See even pretending I could fit the other criteria you've already poisoned the prompt with "good", allowing you to dismiss any you don't personally like. It's entirely possible to make a turn based MMO with co-op. But it doesn't even matter if I can name one at this point, you're dead set on pretending it's impossible.

>fallacy
So you're talking out of your ass. At least now you understand why you're moronic even if you're dead-set on attempting to save face and continue to blame someone else. Concession accepted though you could do without the pathetic writhing in the future when you inevitably pull this stunt again.

OP, don't expect anyone here to have a good time with MMOs. Most /vp/gays are socially stunted unpleasant loners who don't know how to be friends or even engage in roleplay.
My best friend and I have characters in pokeMMO that we roleplay with along our journey and that makes the game a lot more fun than any mainline game. But most people here don't have a single friend, much less would want to do something like that or have the skills for it.
Absolutely, you'd be surprised about what happens in daycares... let's just say there's a particular demographic who really likes Zebstrikas and Houdooms
>still no /vp/ team/guild
do teams really need to be 4 letters? isn't everything taken? or can the tag be anything?
Alright gay your guerilla marketing is starting to work on me. If PokeMMO is playable on mobile I'll join if only so you stop posting.
It is

WTF????????
can anyone give me any my friend stuff on this game? we just started and we're doing sevii islands after the elite 4.
pokemmo is shit
how? I played the actual games btw. you have to just hate mmos.
correct, i do hate mmos.
do you hate SV since it's kind of online focused? the end game for offline is doing raids with bots isn't it?
and SV is overall way shittier than pokemmo besides that. so I guess you only play the single player older games?

also in singleplayer you get the legendaries

except you can't
why not?
PokeMMO isn't even really an MMO. There's not a single shred of actual cooperative content to be found unless you count trading.

What even is the point of playing Pokémon as a MMO? Just having a constant flow of morons on your screen?
if you didn't replay gen 1-5 for a while and want a tweest
I have my carts for this. Or at worst an emulator.
if you hate mmos then there's no reason to play besides the fact that it's kind of interesting how you can take an item finder or starter from one gen to another. every region has a level cap so you kind of have to make a new team unless you plan ahead.
item finder, exp share, etc, all items actually
oh and it's harder than the originals because enemies have better moves/ai and sometimes a newer pokemon, especially on rematches
being able to just rematch any trainer or leader after a certain amount of time is way better than anything the og games did
I've seen this shit being talked about for so long. What MMO aspects does it have beyond simply seeing other players in the game worlds? more reason to keep grinding in an mmo because that's the point of the game and you can flex
Can someone actually explain to me what Pokemon MMO is like?
Is it just a normal game but you can interact with people in real time?
you pretty much play the story of each game but there are other people you could trade or battle at any time around so it's fun to play along with a friend and you can just trade each other alakazam and gengar or whatever. you can start in whichever region you want. there are also alpha pokemon and other mechanics they added but it seems good. it has like all the mechanics and more. and you can put items/abilities on hotkeys like sweet scent on 1 2 3 4 5 etc
it's mostly me but I don't give a frick
damn this thread is really just 80% shills
>noooo you must shill the official product instead which hasn't been good in almost a decade
it has sevii islands storylines from fire red, and i think the johto version is hgss so i guess it has the extra story from that. also i think it uses emerald, platinum, then black or white
Sell me on it. What do you do in it and can I play solo without having to interact with moronic homosexuals?

weak bait
if you want to play the single player then pvp with the pokemon you raised, which isn't showdown
So why would I play this over an actual Pokemon game?
if you played them already and like mmos

yeah you basically do things at the same time

There's nothing in the games you team up for like that so it would have to be custom bosses you party up with which sounds gay anyway
>pokemmo thread
>no gameplay pictures yet, just a frog
thanks chat
>can't start Johto or Sinnoh until my buddy catches up
I think I'm doing pretty well on finishing their dexes anyways, all things considered.

Lucky you, took me a week to find one in a phenomenon.

Absolutely, you'd be surprised about what happens in daycares... let's just say there's a particular demographic who really likes Zebstrikas and Houdooms
that's allowed?
does repel not work for water?
Always does
maybe you have a swarm/no guard ability pokemon in front and its low level?
no o_O
anyone want to be black with afros?
are there any pools in the game? people must be warned about the dangers of aids and stingrays
Cerulean Gym and the Resort Area probably.
It'd be funny as frick if /vp/ could come together and seize all the legendaries.
Unknown Cave closed due to aids
