why are there NO romhacks that let you skip dialogue? it is IMPOSSIBLE to fucking replay gen 5 or 7 because there is just SO MUCH FUCKING DIALOGUE YOU CAN'T SKIP, there's like 2 hours worth of dialogue in bw1 and bw2, 2 hours of just mashing A

I don't know how speedrun categories of Pokemon exist, it's not fun sitting through all of this dialogue over and over again. The fastest text speed option doesn't save these games either on a replay. Seeing N have a special even faster text in Gen 5 was pretty funny though.

That's not even the worst part. It's not a run based on skill like Mario. It's mostly just RNG manipulation and like you said, mashing A. Werster's runs are only entertaining because he's entertaining, plus you have to be insane to do a 19 hour Gold Symbol run where you are consistently fucked over even in casual play
This is why I couldn't finish Ultra Sucks Moo to this day since I already finished S/M before.

It's almost like these games aren't designed to be "replayed" as in literally starting the game over
The "replayability" comes from shit like completing the Pokedex and battling against your friends
every game should be replayable
The most fun part of the games is when you start from scratch and build your team/dex back up
