What Pokemon do you think was skinned to get Grusha's coat, would probably make the most sense if it were Seel or Dewgong given his type speciality although could be Froslass, I guess it could be Cetitan although given it's based on a whale I don't think it's got a fur coat.

It's because GF are still total amateurs when it comes to 3D. They are still learning all this 3D tech and can't really handle it well yet since they refuse to hire new people or something. That's also why the game performs so badly, they are fricking clueless about optimization. Most of the normalmaps are way too detailed too which cannot be good for the game's performance. Usually looks like shit too, pic related. That's not even how a shirt should look, it looks more like rough canvas rather than fabric. It's way too high res and too "bumpy" which actually makes it look worse because it looks really crunchy when rendered with light like this. This is the kinda shit you see in student projects, it's fricked up that this is considered a "triple A" product.
More skilled/knowledgeable devs, The game engine could be alot easier to work with if they don't have their own, Programing Lang issues,
Gamefreak has enough money to hire non jap devs.
