This has nothing to do with PVP. If a pokemon game comes out and it has Home enabled, it's on you to get those pokemon. Home has a free plan as well so there's no excuse.
>>bro just buy home >> buy home >> BUY HOME
it's a free app, moron. You can pay for a subscription if you are an autist who wants to have living dex, but otherwise it's free
>bro just buy home >also ignore the fact that plass was too shit to have pvp in it
no
It's absolutely bullshit that some of the PLA Pokémon cant be evolved in S/V.
In order to breed an Ursaluna you have to breed a Teddiursa with a 0 Speed IV, send it to PLA, evolve it with an item thats rare as frick and then trade it back to S/V again.
That said, pic related
>Cheating manchildren who are unable to respect rules have the audacity to ask to be respected.
What's wrong with them ?
>Play game to get Tornadus >Transfer to Bank >Transfer to Home >Transfer to SV >Instantly perfect it with bottle caps, vitamins, mints, ability capsules/patches, TMs >Your competitive Tornadus is now good to go
The day the make a 0IV item is the day hackers have literally no excuse. And even then they did a fricking 0IV Ditto raid, so this only applies to legendaries.
>Pokegays are so buck broken they go through tons of old games, breeding for perfect stats and movesets just to be able to play competitive >They also pay Gamefreak/Ninty to store literal kilobytes of data >Other gays defend having to do a bunch of bullshit across all the games just to play
Anyone who plays competitive pokemon and doesn't just gen all their teams is a fricking idiot. Actually, pokemon fans in general are just idiots. At least sonic fans know their franchise is ass.
>If you don't need to cheat in a game made for kids you're an idiot. >It's ok to pay thousands of dollars/euros to go to japan for a pokémon tournament but it's not ok to pay for the tools required to maximise your chances of winning.
The stupidity and entitlement of the manchildren who needs to cheat is insane.
Comp gays dont actually like pokemon but are too stupid to play any real competitive games so they stick to pretending the rngfest for babies is a esport
And that's how it's suppossed to be.
VGC is event for best Pokemon players, not failing E-Celebrites that are good at Smogon simulations. If you cannot prepare your team for an official event then what are you even doing at official event?
>Play game to get Tornadus >Transfer to Bank >Transfer to Home >Transfer to SV >Instantly perfect it with bottle caps, vitamins, mints, ability capsules/patches, TMs >Your competitive Tornadus is now good to go
Now do that for 0 Speed IV Cresselia.
Now, if you're really autistic, do it for 0 Attack 0 Speed IV Cresselia.
Now do it for 0 Attack 0 Speed Enamorus.
If you only want 0IV Speed Cresselia it's not that difficult:
>Encounter a stationary Cresselia in ORAS, USUM or BDSP >Save before the encounter >Start the encounter and use a Master Ball to catch Cresselia >Check IVs. If you dodged in the Speed stat any of the 3 rolls of guaranteed 31 IVs then you just have to roll 0 (or a 1 or 2 depends on how desperate you are) >If you didn't get it then you soft reset and try again
It is tedious, yes, but not impossible by spending a couple hours and a bit of luck
t. got a 0IV Speed Ting Lu with this method on a single day
Doing that for just one 0 is reasonable, but it becomes exponentially longer and more unreasonable for two. Enamorus doesn't get IVs until transferred to Home, so unless your plan is to hack your Switch and edit your PLA save file to send dozens or even hundreds of Enamoruses to Home then that becomes prohibitive, because at that point it's asking you to play an entire game just for a chance at a good Pokemon. That is unreasonable and Game Freak should add a Rusted Bottle Cap or whatever so you can hyper train IVs down to 0.
Maybe they will in the future. Maybe that's what people should be asking them for instead of complaining and asking that they make cheating legal, yeah? Maybe they should take that energy and play the game the right way and ask GF to make a Rusted Bottle Cap as well. Complaining about cheating because playing the game is hard and will take too much time is literally the most objectively stupid argument they could've attempted. I sincerely hope the attention this brings to the tourney scene makes TPCI crack down even harder and start banning people from worlds instead of just disqualifying them.
If your strategy for a team really needs that shit, then that's on you to do. Yeah. That's the work you put in for your team, moron. If you can't do it then build another team that you can do. Just play the fricking game idiot. The fact that it might take too much time is on you to work around idiot, because it was your choice to build the team you're using.
You really don't need 0 speed to outpace 99% of the meta in trick room, first of all, and neither of those Pokemon is proving itself essential for this meta so far
You're correct. Most of my TR mons are 31 speed iv neutral nature, specifically so in the TR mirror match up I know with confidence that I outspeed them and don't need to set up TR. Cresselia and Enamorus are rare exceptions. Cresselia is actually really fast; it's the same speed as Rillaboom. I will speed tie a neutral nature 0EV 31 IV base 61 under TR, which is to say, if you want to underspeed Tyranitar, a REALLY important thing to maneuver around as Psychic type, then you need hard min speed. Enamorus, as well, has really important matchups, namely that it is base 46 speed and Ursaluna, Iron Hands, and Kingambit are all base 50. If you want to guarantee hard underspeed them, you can have a speed IV no higher than 7, which, while easier to get than 0, still could require replaying PLA over and over.
I'm sure Enamorus will become available at a later mainline game, heck it could even be available somewhere in SV's DLC areas if GF feels magnanimous. Plus (and this is not a real option but it will eventually exist out there) Enamorus will eventually arrive at GO and all transferred mons from GO have their Speed IV rolled upon transferred which could potentially land you one with low enough Speed or you could trade someone who rolled a low Speed
caring about 0 atk is fricking beyond autistic. no one actually uses confusion anymore after the gen 7 nerf, and even if they do, the cost of losing a turn hitting yourself is way, way, WAY fricking worse than the minor chip damage. >but muh foul play
no one uses foul play either. wo-chien is a fricking joke, so is murkrow, and there are no other even remotely relevant users.
i suppose it'll be at least somewhat relevant then, but even so yveltal will be struggling hard in a miraidon + zacian meta.
still, caring about 0 speed on, say, cress is fricking dumb. no one's clicking foul play with cress and its ally switch around, they're clicking snarl.

What the frick? Do these supposed pros not do any preparation for this massive event? >Pokemon expects so much from it's players
The most DENSE motherfricker alive, holy frick.
Competitive players are the heaviest users of the service, so of course that's the demographic they're going to charge the most money to. If you think a $180 Regulation D team is bad now, just wait for what they'll get away with next gen
It also gives multiple, relatively easy to use tools to prepare your Pokemon for competitive.
It's really is just bunch of spoiler, unironic manchildren that cannot bother to do absolutely the least amount of preparation and demand praises for how oh-so-great they supposedly are.
I agree with this honestly, put the mon in the game if you're doing a tournament. Even better just ban all hard to get mons like fricking genies can frick off for eternity.

You can get it from the sho guy in Jubilife Village for like $5000
Or you can just search it with Ursalina ride for like 5 minutes
>It's absolutely bullshit that some of the PLA Pokémon cant be evolved in S/V.
their regional evolutions dude, of course they cant evolve outside of hisui
The day the make a 0IV item is the day hackers have literally no excuse. And even then they did a fricking 0IV Ditto raid, so this only applies to legendaries.
Just run 31 at that point. You're still going to be slow enough for TR most of the time, and you'll have the knowledge to not set up, or reverse their, Trick Room in the mirror match.
Tbh there should've been a 0 IV bottle cap at this point. The only thing left to schitzogen anymore is 0 in an attack stat and 0 speed since hidden power is gone
it became profitable to be anti game freak, they have no integrity, which makes having these guys shame people like me for being against them more laughable

My favorite part about the whole natdex bullshit was people praising the decision because it meant that stupid ass shit like the genies would never infest the newer games, only to be added to the game anyfrickingway
The only reason I never backed the dexcut was because I knew this shit was going to happen. The idea that the dexcut was somehow healthier for the meta was always really fricking tempting, but I knew the Genies were 100% going to be added back into the fricking game. There's 0 chance they were ever going to be fricking cut. The silver linings for Dexcut were all a fricking joke.
Swsh had no genies for a year+, don’t think people understand you’re never getting perma cuts to strong Pokemon because you need Pokémon that don’t die instantly to the restricted. Also S/V had almost all pseudos and Dondozo from the beginning, it’s a high power meta from day 1
They're fun. You get to break out "the big guns" that normally are locked away. And the fact you're limited to only two also adds an almost puzzle-like element to it. What other four do you bring? What restricteds can you counter with them such that it leaves your restricteds free to sweep through the rest of your opponent's team? Making a team that works in restricted formats is a lot harder than regional or nationaldex formats where you can often swap out one pokemon for another without the entire synergy of the team being thrown off, but when you do make a team that works it's all the more satisfying.
This
My favorite part about the whole natdex bullshit was people praising the decision because it meant that stupid ass shit like the genies would never infest the newer games, only to be added to the game anyfrickingway
Dexcut or no dexcut, genies are guaranteed to be transfer-only until DLC, just like they're also guaranteed to be mandatory in VGC because Gamefreak hates shaking up the meta.
Why the frick would I ever watch VGC when everyone involved just treats it as some side shit they don't care about?
No other competitive game is like this.
>Always been on the fence for VGC >Decided frick it >Copied some Smogon sets, tried Showdown >Won my first 3 games
This is kinda fun. I might keep going and when I decide on a team I'll play on cart. I'll have to make a new account on my Switch to get Rapid Urshifu but that's no big deal.
It’s hard to feel any sort of sympathy for VGC players in this position. Genned Pokemon are against the rules, but there has been over a decade of competition at this point were they were obviously present, and there was little, if any enforcement. That means the functional policy for genned Pokemon is “Don’t get caught,” and they couldn’t follow it.
its sort of funny how gamefreak has been fricking sanding down their games in favour of pointless compshit for years AND making it as tedious as possible for compshit at the same time
Except competitive play is easier to get into than ever? Make no mistake, a frickton of whining about the current situation is about how Game Freak are apparently scum for expecting you to play Pokemon games to catch the Pokemon in them for use.
NOOOOOOO YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND IT'S AN ESPORT IT'S AN ESPORT IT SHOULD BE LIKE ALL OTHER ESPORTS NOOOOOOOOOO YOU CAN'T EXPECT ME TO PLAY SINGLE PLAYER CONTENT IT'S AN ESPORT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I haven't played much of the current season due to Summer Classes+Job, but I hit Top 2000 or so every past season with derivatives of a Scovillian+Stonjourner team I built months ago. Hell, you could probably go to the archives and find me posting about it when I was first making it.
I'm not some masterful player, but I DO play.
Like I said, nowhere near a master. I usually get around there and start hitting a wall due to stupid plays/shortsighted decisions.
I've been told that I'm far better at teambuilding than I am at actually applying the team I built in battle pretty often.

>getting into competitive isn't easier
So it was easier in Gen 3 where you had to have two of the GBA games from different sets at least (Emerald and one of the Gen 1 remakes) alongside entire other console and game just to teambuild optimally?
Or Gen 5, where you have to have said console and game that were years old at that point?
Or how about Gen 6, where, alongside meta-relevant legends not being obtainable in Kalos, things like IVs and Natures were still immutable aspects of a mon despite the advancements in EV training and Breeding?
Nah, acting like it's any worse now than it ever was is complete nonsense

Gen 9 might have made hyper training easier to do, but breeding, EV training, and tera shards (the generation gimmick) is back to being moronic inconvenient. It's one step forward, three steps back.
Also as,
So as someone that is actually MR I can tell you that no, getting into competitive isn't easier, especially when regulations change to allow more and more legendaries.
said, the rules changing every 2-3 months means you're constantly having to change your team. It takes hundreds of matches to reach the point where you have a game plan for every possible matchup. Even on showdown you're going to take a few weeks to hit that point. So you make a team in game, use it for two months, then throw half that knowledge out when the meta is blown wide open by new pokemon. >but you had to change your team when the meta changed back when it was yearly rules
Yes and no. Sometimes it was just a matter of learning how to play against the new meta with your existing team you were comfortable with. Sometimes it meant changing one move or making a small tweak to speed ivs or an item. Very rarely would you need to change Pokemon after the first month or so, because it was exceptionally rare for the meta to change drastically with no new input. No one who discovers a big strat is going to hold onto it all season, waiting for Worlds; they're going to use it the first tournament than can.

It's more irrelevant than ever with the saturation of Mints, Bottle Caps, and Vitamins, alongside the inclusion of Mirror Herb. The only possible thing you'd need to breed for is 0 IV in a stat, which has never been particularly fun. >EV Training
Vitamins can be bough in bulk alongside keeping the uncap from Gen 8, Sandwiches make forcing a bulk of a specific mon trivial, EV reducing berries are sold in bulk at the auctions >NO RESETTING!!!
Being introduced in Teal Mask, just like how Gen 8 only had it's reset feature in DLC 1. >Tera Shard
Shat out constantly by the absolute saturation of Events that drop them like candy. I have over 100 of most types (and several hundred of a few) with absolutely no hacking done and a swath of comp mons built from near scratch in every season of play but the current one. The CURRENT EVENT gives them out like candy.
It's not any more inconvenient than farming Dynamax Candies, which people never b***hed and moaned about >muh rulesets
Good thing Rental Teams exist now. If you're feeling off on a specific mon/archetype, you can search online for a code (via any of the numerous VGC Youtubers, tourney-winner rental codes, comp corners of social media, or even on Smogon) and sus it out in battle and see if you want to go through in investing. Not only is the info on meta trends more visible than ever, so is the means to get hands on experience.

The lack of a way to reset EVs alone makes Gen 9 less convenient than Gen 8, but just getting vitamins is slower too. Unlike past gens, gen 9 doesn't shower you with money. It was normal for me to have 2M+ pokedollars in gen 8. I'm sitting at 30k in gen 9. Good luck buying vitamins with that. And as for tera shards, you need 50 of them vs 10 dynamax candy. You could do three raid dens (and realistically solo them) to get enough candy for one pokemon once and then it was good forever. You need to do 15 raids to get enough tera shards to change a pokemon's tera type once, and then another 15 to change it again. Furthermore, tera raids are buggy as shit, so half the time you'll waste almost 10 minutes just to lose and get basically nothing. As for breeding, you could slap two pokemon in the daycare bike in a circle for 20s and get an egg in gen 8. In gen 9 there have been times it's taken over 7 minutes for me to get an egg from the basket.
Nothing in gen 9 is more convenient than gen 8 other than hyper training.

>The lack of a way to reset EVs alone makes Gen 9 less convenient than Gen 8
Then good thing that's coming with Teal Mask, just like how, in Gen 8, it didn't come until Isle of Armor >Unlike past gens, gen 9 doesn't shower you with money
I'm sitting on 2.8 million right now and have a decent amount of Treasures to hawk off as well. Do some Tera Raids once in a while. > You need to do 15 raids to get enough tera shards to change a pokemon's tera type once
5-Star Raids drop 4 Tera Shards, 6-Star Raids Drop 5, and nearly the entire set can be solo'd with one of three mons (Azumarill, Iron Hands, Gholdengo). It takes a bit, but combined with the, again, NUMEROUS events that shat them out, any semi-serious comp player should be sitting on a fricking mines' worth of at least half the type chart by now. > Furthermore, tera raids are buggy as shit, so half the time you'll waste almost 10 minutes just to lose and get basically nothing.
Solo them then, they haven't been that buggy in months >In gen 9 there have been times it's taken over 7 minutes for me to get an egg from the basket.
Make a fricking Sandwich then. TIER 2 EGG POWER ON A SANDWICH WITH 3 (tres)(san)(drei) NETS YOU, ON AVERAGE, TEN EGGS PER 5 MINUTE INTERVAL FOR 30 MINUTES STRAIGHT. This isn't excuse.

I'm not posting every single one of my teams (only have two put together right now anyhow), but this my box of mons I consider "battle ready". I was in the process of prepping Ting-Lu before I got really busy over the Summer, but I still haven't gotten around to because it's worse off this season. Also wanted to get around to properly building the Snealser, Basculegion, and Overqwil I recently transferred in.
And yes, I actually played SwSh and PLA because I'm a Pokemon fan (shocking, I know), so all of these mons originate from my own saves.
I dunno what you want me to say dude, building for comp still isn't perfect, but acting like Gen 9 is some competitive stonewall monolith that's any more impenetrable than gens before it is patently ridiculous.

Okay, so you do play. So, you understand the issues the game suffers and the barrier of entry with VGC.
My main question is: why are you defending Gamefreak locking basic QOL updates behind DLC a year after release? You said it yourself; we didn't get EV resetting until Isle of Armor. Why is Gamefreak locking something like that behind DLC again when we've had it in a previous title?
They make these decisions on purpose. This is why people gen Pokemon to begin with. There is nothing stopping them from including basic QOL features in the base game, those systems already existed. They've had 10+ years to find a solution to IVs and have chosen to do nothing about it. The only people a system like that benefits are influencers or people with enough reach to have individuals help them. It have zero benefits to the ordinary player, and anyone who defends it are either: casuals that don't play, people who are autistic, or those that put themselves on a pedestal for carrying the rock up the hill over and over and over and over.
If they want their game to be competitive, but don't want to respect their players time, I will always support people genning Pokemon until they make it easier. It doesn't matter how much time you nor I are willing to put into catching/breeding/trading, not everyone is in the same situation to allow them to do so. I will always hold this opinion, regardless of the fact that I breed, catch, and raise my own Pokemon.

>why are you defending Gamefreak locking basic QOL updates behind DLC a year after release?
I'm not, I was simply using it as a talking point because of the claim that gens before this one (SwSh included) had it so much better. There should've been a Fresh Start Mochi equivalent in base SV, there should've been a Lady Clear equivalent in base SwSh.
That said, I stand by the idea that it IS easy to get your hands on EV clearing berries. The least I have of any one of them is Qualot at 155. I don't think locking the full wipe behind DLC is good, but I don't think the current situation is all that shit either. >This is why people gen Pokemon to begin with.
This conversation was never about denying why people gen. This entire conversation started because I interjected with "a large amount of this controversy is because people don't feel like playing the games to actually get the Pokemon". I KNOW why they genned, because they don't want to play PLA or SwSh or whatever the frick to keep up with the meta. Also notice I never said anything about actually training the Pokemon in my initial point-this is because I agree that it's not the best it could be (the lack of an IV resetter is pretty egregious). >If they want their game to be competitive, but don't want to respect their players time, I will always support people genning Pokemon until they make it easier.
Then do that, I guess. I have no problem with people genning themselves, and never said I did. I just have no sympathy for people who get caught, especially if they're doing so simply because keeping up with the series they're supposedly big enough fans to compete in is apparently too much of an ask. If you want to manip Ursaluna's Speed IV to 0 go ahead, if you want to hack it in wholesale then also go ahead, but don't expect my condolences when you frick it up and get caught with your pants down.

>SHUT THE FRICK UP, RESETTING IS LE HARD WORK AND REWARDING!1!
Lazy homosexuals who crowdsource their Pokemon from their discord server deserve to get banned for failing basic b***h hack checks.
Also, Pokemon should really not expect you to play 4 games minimum to get a competitive team.
People deserve to get DQd for breaking the rules.
Pokemon needs to not extort players for $200+ worth of games plus a Home subscription to get a competitive team.
Everyone sucks. There are no virtuous here.
It's okay to point and laugh at these morons.
Bro SV alone has 400 mons, you really don't need another game unless you're autistic and just HAVE to use the same copy-paste meta Legendary team everyone else has.
0 attack on special attackers means you take as minimum as possible from the move Foul Play, which is a dark-type move that uses your own attack stat against you. It's the ultimate min-max.
Cress is also weak to dark for the record.
Attack is the only other one that matters because self-inflicted damage from Confusion bases off your Attack stat. If your mon is a special attacker then there's no reason for it to have a high Attack stat. Also, the move Foul Play bases off the other Pokemon's attack stat instead of your own.
0 attack has extremely minor edge case usefulness with confusion damage and foul play that never actually come into play.
it's insanely autistic to actually care about.
He is not wrong but it doesn't matter, a big part of the appeal of Pokemon games is roleplaying that you are a Pokemon trainer and having competitive events plays into that fantasy for a lot of people. It's the price you pay playing a competitive role playing game.
Breeding in S/V only exists for shinies, it is not relevant to comp prep unless you want 0 speed/attack which takes like 5 min
But I'm roleplayig
I do think its the worst breeding has ever been, but the idea of being being roleplaying really does mean you are just sitting there staring at them frick while you munch on something.
.........which might make it more true to life for the hyper competitive cases.
Lewtwo L here
If you're willing to enter competitions for prize money you better abide by their rules. Even if they're arbitrary, they are the rules. If you don't like them, play Showdown. You don't walk up to a marathon with those banned Nike vaporfly shoes and expect them to tolerate something outside the spirit of competition, do you?
People are still genning their Pokemon though. If you aren't dumb, your genned mon is literally no different from a completely legitimate one. It's on TPC to actually find the difference between legitimate and legal mons, which historically they're terrible at doing. (It was only a few people that got DQ'd this time around, not some massive purge of players)
Imagine looking at yourself in the mirror and thinking the people who got to where they are legitimately is an advantage over you when you literally don't play the game
>Develops a series where you need to play 30 games to transfer the Pokemon you want >Get's upset that top competitive people are hacking
The absolute state of TPC
The Dex Cut continues to be a mistake
You'd think they'd fully commit to the dex cuts instead of giving an inevitable free pass to every single legendary, UB and a few designated shillmons (soon to include every single paradox as well), but evidently not.
It really is absurd how “Play the Pokemon Game” is being treated as some unreasonable, insurmountable challenge by pro players. I suppose it makes sense though, considering they had a cheat tool that’s virtually undetectable when used right and they still got caught cause they were too lazy to think about it more than a second.
They should consider themselves lucky they didn't get banned from future competitions. Now they can just pay more attention to the hacks and keep doing it like always, so it really shows how entitled these people are by shitting themselves over getting DQ'd this once.
>why do I have to play the games to get certain pokemon?
Are VGC players really this stupid?
having to play mainline games isn’t a problem. It’s when you have to play spinoffs with no online functionality like pic related that it becomes one
>no online functionality
Home.
>bro just buy home
>also ignore the fact that plass was too shit to have pvp in it
no
This has nothing to do with PVP. If a pokemon game comes out and it has Home enabled, it's on you to get those pokemon. Home has a free plan as well so there's no excuse.
>>bro just buy home
>> buy home
>> BUY HOME
it's a free app, moron. You can pay for a subscription if you are an autist who wants to have living dex, but otherwise it's free
>too shit to have PVP
PVP is the worst part of a Pokemon game THOUGH. Just compare how shit Shit/Vomit is to PLA.
>posts pic of a mainline game
what did anon mean by this?
Anon, he posted a picture of Arceus that's not main line.
>Pokegays are so buck broken they go through tons of old games, breeding for perfect stats and movesets just to be able to play competitive
>They also pay Gamefreak/Ninty to store literal kilobytes of data
>Other gays defend having to do a bunch of bullshit across all the games just to play
Anyone who plays competitive pokemon and doesn't just gen all their teams is a fricking idiot. Actually, pokemon fans in general are just idiots. At least sonic fans know their franchise is ass.
Why would you want to play comp then if pokemon is so ass?
>If you don't need to cheat in a game made for kids you're an idiot.
>It's ok to pay thousands of dollars/euros to go to japan for a pokémon tournament but it's not ok to pay for the tools required to maximise your chances of winning.
The stupidity and entitlement of the manchildren who needs to cheat is insane.
Based, the real crime here is how stupid VGCsissies are at genning Pokemon without them looking awful and clearly genned.
The game has a function, in-game, to trade pokemon you Black person
>Blaming PLA when it's Gamefreak's Dex Cut Fault
Nice try, PLA will continue to be the best game since Gen 5
Comp gays dont actually like pokemon but are too stupid to play any real competitive games so they stick to pretending the rngfest for babies is a esport
Good on him
What a creep, taking photos of other people
And that's how it's suppossed to be.
VGC is event for best Pokemon players, not failing E-Celebrites that are good at Smogon simulations. If you cannot prepare your team for an official event then what are you even doing at official event?
>Play game to get Tornadus
>Transfer to Bank
>Transfer to Home
>Transfer to SV
>Instantly perfect it with bottle caps, vitamins, mints, ability capsules/patches, TMs
>Your competitive Tornadus is now good to go
Now do that for 0 Speed IV Cresselia.
Now, if you're really autistic, do it for 0 Attack 0 Speed IV Cresselia.
Now do it for 0 Attack 0 Speed Enamorus.
Cresselia and Enamorus can both be manipulated in PLA for 0 speed IVs. Try again.
If you only want 0IV Speed Cresselia it's not that difficult:
>Encounter a stationary Cresselia in ORAS, USUM or BDSP
>Save before the encounter
>Start the encounter and use a Master Ball to catch Cresselia
>Check IVs. If you dodged in the Speed stat any of the 3 rolls of guaranteed 31 IVs then you just have to roll 0 (or a 1 or 2 depends on how desperate you are)
>If you didn't get it then you soft reset and try again
Are you telling VGC players that they should...play the game?
It's annoying but very doable in DPPt or BW2 since those games got zero fixed perfect ivs.
caring about 0 atk is fricking beyond autistic. no one actually uses confusion anymore after the gen 7 nerf, and even if they do, the cost of losing a turn hitting yourself is way, way, WAY fricking worse than the minor chip damage.
>but muh foul play
no one uses foul play either. wo-chien is a fricking joke, so is murkrow, and there are no other even remotely relevant users.
It's going to be important for Yveltal Foul Play calcs, eventually. But yeah, in this format it's pretty much irrelevant
i suppose it'll be at least somewhat relevant then, but even so yveltal will be struggling hard in a miraidon + zacian meta.
still, caring about 0 speed on, say, cress is fricking dumb. no one's clicking foul play with cress and its ally switch around, they're clicking snarl.
>0 speed
0 attack, i mean. but that should be obvious.
What the frick? Do these supposed pros not do any preparation for this massive event?
>Pokemon expects so much from it's players
The most DENSE motherfricker alive, holy frick.
If you know the actual calculations and already have the legit resources, you can accomplish everything legitimately before tourney, no?
VGCtrannies when someone plays pokemon to get pokemons instead of cheating:
What if he was waiting and just took his 3DS to shiny hunt for some legendaries in Ultra Wormholes?
>not having a livingdex in HOME
ngmi
>pokemon expects so much from it's players
>the battle frontier project has started!
fighting braindead npcs is not fun
But enough about Showdown
Callum is still alive and relevant? I thought that he got finally canned for pedophilia?
Competitive players are the heaviest users of the service, so of course that's the demographic they're going to charge the most money to. If you think a $180 Regulation D team is bad now, just wait for what they'll get away with next gen
Current VGC removed old Gen moves which makes building a team much more easier legally because you don't have to worry about some obscure old move.
It also gives multiple, relatively easy to use tools to prepare your Pokemon for competitive.
It's really is just bunch of spoiler, unironic manchildren that cannot bother to do absolutely the least amount of preparation and demand praises for how oh-so-great they supposedly are.
old gen moves haven't been allowed in vgc since 2013, fricking newbie
This. Plus, previous VGCs required origin marks, which means everything in the format was obtainable in the same game.
I agree with this honestly, put the mon in the game if you're doing a tournament. Even better just ban all hard to get mons like fricking genies can frick off for eternity.
That said, pic related
>evolve it with an item thats rare as frick
You can get it from the sho guy in Jubilife Village for like $5000
Or you can just search it with Ursalina ride for like 5 minutes
>It's absolutely bullshit that some of the PLA Pokémon cant be evolved in S/V.
their regional evolutions dude, of course they cant evolve outside of hisui
It's just a marketing tactic to force you to buy the entire ecosystem of games or fomo
>Cheating manchildren who are unable to respect rules have the audacity to ask to be respected.
What's wrong with them ?
Love seeing these homosexuals that actively know they cheated cry about it like its unfair somehow.
>its no sense
kek
>cheater asking for respect
WTF?! Imagine if an athlete who was caught doping was like I'm asking for respect.
Sounds like Lance Armstrong
>new hack check
nothing changed, you just got lazy
>new hack check
Kek it's not new you lazy c**ts.

Entry level, which is higher than yours now that you're disqualified homosexual. Hahaha.
reeks of sub 1100s
Reeks of homosexual
Stop cheating
gonna make me pussy?
Don't need to TPCj already DQ you.
I don't know your score, and I don't want to know. Neither does anyone else. Disqualified.
>can't even play a childrens game the way it was intended.
You're sub 1100, you're not even ranked
Reeks of disqualified.

Post yours
Stop cheating
Post standing, disqualified LOSER
Idk still stop cheating.
post elo from a fresh account with a non hacked mon, moron.
>I SPENT MONEY ON YOUR FRANCHISE BUT BROKE YOUR TERMS OF SERVICE WHY ARE YOU MAD AT ME
Calling people manchildren while posting on the Pokemon board of Ganker feels a bit glass houses to me
You're free to feel whatever you want dude.
shhh... you aren't supposed to point that out
Well, if you threw rocks in any house it would be damaging
No it fricking wouldn't moron.
>I cheated and they won’t let me play, wtf?
>cheat poorly
>get caught
>instead of sucking it up, keeping a low profile, and moving on, cry about it on twitter
???
The day the make a 0IV item is the day hackers have literally no excuse. And even then they did a fricking 0IV Ditto raid, so this only applies to legendaries.
>B-but now I need an IV adjuster to beat the other 0 speed investment by 1 IV should both of us have trick room teams
we need a battle sim where we all just mirror match using wolfe's team
Just run 31 at that point. You're still going to be slow enough for TR most of the time, and you'll have the knowledge to not set up, or reverse their, Trick Room in the mirror match.
Tbh there should've been a 0 IV bottle cap at this point. The only thing left to schitzogen anymore is 0 in an attack stat and 0 speed since hidden power is gone
have fun on the vgc ladder on showdown you stupid dq'd americ**ts ahahaha
Isn't this the gay that shilled dexit? Guess it didn't work out for him lmao.
lmfao seriously? Got a screencap by chance?
You probably can just search his name and "National dex" on the Twitter search bar bro. But most youtubers went full shill to pwn bbnd
He's right. LITERALLY every person with a platform in this sphere sucked Game Freak's dick in some way.
And now they'll call other people shills.
it became profitable to be anti game freak, they have no integrity, which makes having these guys shame people like me for being against them more laughable
That other guy is right in every way.
>people calling competitive pokemon "high level"
This'll never cease to be funny.
VGCsisters.. everyone is laughing at us
I literally cannot stop crying
This is what motherfrickers get for supporting the dexcut. They don't even get the smallest benefit from it possible.
This
My favorite part about the whole natdex bullshit was people praising the decision because it meant that stupid ass shit like the genies would never infest the newer games, only to be added to the game anyfrickingway
Also S/V had almost all pseudos and Dondozo from the beginning, it’s a high power meta from day 1
I don't play VGC but restricted formats always seemed kind of fricked up to me. Why do they always do them?
They're fun. You get to break out "the big guns" that normally are locked away. And the fact you're limited to only two also adds an almost puzzle-like element to it. What other four do you bring? What restricteds can you counter with them such that it leaves your restricteds free to sweep through the rest of your opponent's team? Making a team that works in restricted formats is a lot harder than regional or nationaldex formats where you can often swap out one pokemon for another without the entire synergy of the team being thrown off, but when you do make a team that works it's all the more satisfying.
I'm still mad I missed the season they allowed mythics into comp.
I feel like they'll probably run it again in SV, especially since some mythicals like Hoopa werent in SwSh and couldnt get the ranked ribbon
My Mythical pokemon aren't even in this game. There's not alot of them this time around too so you're probably right.
No one thought the Genies were going to get cut. Gamefreak has a hardon for them for some reason
Dexcut or no dexcut, genies are guaranteed to be transfer-only until DLC, just like they're also guaranteed to be mandatory in VGC because Gamefreak hates shaking up the meta.
>VGC players are too stupid to use a Freeapp
the absolute STATE
Why the frick would I ever watch VGC when everyone involved just treats it as some side shit they don't care about?
No other competitive game is like this.
The absolute Region* of VGC "pro" players
>Always been on the fence for VGC
>Decided frick it
>Copied some Smogon sets, tried Showdown
>Won my first 3 games
This is kinda fun. I might keep going and when I decide on a team I'll play on cart. I'll have to make a new account on my Switch to get Rapid Urshifu but that's no big deal.
It’s hard to feel any sort of sympathy for VGC players in this position. Genned Pokemon are against the rules, but there has been over a decade of competition at this point were they were obviously present, and there was little, if any enforcement. That means the functional policy for genned Pokemon is “Don’t get caught,” and they couldn’t follow it.
>Wolfe got eliminated day 1
LOL
World Champ difference baby!
If they gift Enamorus in S/V and patch in ways to get the hisui mons it's be fine.
its sort of funny how gamefreak has been fricking sanding down their games in favour of pointless compshit for years AND making it as tedious as possible for compshit at the same time
Except competitive play is easier to get into than ever?
Post elo
your score in a fanfic meta is meaningless
post VGC ladder elo
I'm asking for your VGC elo autist because I know you've never played.
I haven't played much of the current season due to Summer Classes+Job, but I hit Top 2000 or so every past season with derivatives of a Scovillian+Stonjourner team I built months ago. Hell, you could probably go to the archives and find me posting about it when I was first making it.
I'm not some masterful player, but I DO play.
>top 2k
kek
Like I said, nowhere near a master. I usually get around there and start hitting a wall due to stupid plays/shortsighted decisions.
I've been told that I'm far better at teambuilding than I am at actually applying the team I built in battle pretty often.
So as someone that is actually MR I can tell you that no, getting into competitive isn't easier, especially when regulations change to allow more and more legendaries.
>getting into competitive isn't easier
Also as,
said, the rules changing every 2-3 months means you're constantly having to change your team.
>EV training
"Buy 26 Calcium, feed to Pokemon" is inconvenient?
Now try doing a spread that takes more than 1 brain cell, billy
>"Buy 12 Calcium, fight two Psyduck" is inconvenient
Anon, your laziness is showing.
Now do it for 10 different mons and keep resetting them with berries to find the perfect spread for the meta that's constantly shifting
How many goalposts are you gonna move, you lazy non-game playing homosexual?
Post elo
And now you're avoiding the question.
Do you only know how to speak in fallacies?
I know how to speak in realities, now post elo.
>now post elo.
Don't accuse others of dodging then do so yourself, miss projection
To dodge the question, a question must first be asked.
I'm not acquiescing to your red herring fallacy. Enjoy the music.
Oh look you're just a reddit cosplayer that's never played vgc, I'm shocked. Don't start a debate on a format you've never played nor put work into prepping for.
>Oh look you're just a reddit cosplayer
Ad homenim
>that's never played vgc
And projection.
>Don't start a debate
Don't start a debate when all you can do is speak in fallacies. Stop being lazy and EV train your damn Pokemon.
post elo
>I'm not acquiescing to your red herring fallacy.
This same image has been uploaded over 4 times in the past day to this board you aren't fooling a single person
Also lmao December results you aren't playing the game
I've posted in 2 separate threads, so if anyone else is using it I don't know what to tell you.
>Also lmao December results you aren't playing the game
As I explained in my other post, I'm not replaying old games and resetting for legendaries to stay competitive.
Lazy homosexual
Frick you, this is so brain dead easy. You are literally moronic if you don't get it and lazy if you're complaining about you. You don't deserve to play the game if this is somehow too difficult for you.
No one is saying it's hard or slow to make a 252 252 4 5IV Pokemon. They're complaining about the edge cases of having to soft reset for obscure legendaries in other games, or make really inconvenient ev spreads. It doesn't matter if 80% of the time a job takes five minutes, if the other 20% of the time it takes fifty hours, then it's, on average, not an easy job.
>what is math
>What is EV Yield
>Gen 9 might have made hyper training easier to do, but breeding, EV training, and tera shards (the generation gimmick) is back to being moronic inconvenient
>Breeding
It's more irrelevant than ever with the saturation of Mints, Bottle Caps, and Vitamins, alongside the inclusion of Mirror Herb. The only possible thing you'd need to breed for is 0 IV in a stat, which has never been particularly fun.
>EV Training
Vitamins can be bough in bulk alongside keeping the uncap from Gen 8, Sandwiches make forcing a bulk of a specific mon trivial, EV reducing berries are sold in bulk at the auctions
>NO RESETTING!!!
It's not any more inconvenient than farming Dynamax Candies, which people never b***hed and moaned about
>muh rulesets
Good thing Rental Teams exist now. If you're feeling off on a specific mon/archetype, you can search online for a code (via any of the numerous VGC Youtubers, tourney-winner rental codes, comp corners of social media, or even on Smogon) and sus it out in battle and see if you want to go through in investing. Not only is the info on meta trends more visible than ever, so is the means to get hands on experience.
>just play <a completely different game and not the game I want to play> for hours so that I can play competitive for minutes
Or, I can skip all those steps, practice on showdown, and inject.
Yes, you can. Doesn't mean it's not easier now than it's ever been though, moron.
Then good thing that's coming with Teal Mask, just like how, in Gen 8, it didn't come until Isle of Armor
>Unlike past gens, gen 9 doesn't shower you with money
Solo them then, they haven't been that buggy in months
>In gen 9 there have been times it's taken over 7 minutes for me to get an egg from the basket.
Make a fricking Sandwich then. TIER 2 EGG POWER ON A SANDWICH WITH 3 (tres)(san)(drei) NETS YOU, ON AVERAGE, TEN EGGS PER 5 MINUTE INTERVAL FOR 30 MINUTES STRAIGHT. This isn't excuse.
>WITH 3 INGREDIENTS
is what I meant to type
can you post your vgc teams?
You haven't played in a real competition (not some shit like video games) if you think """respecting your time""" is a prerequisite to something to be properly competitive.
This isn't a sport where you volunteer your time or get paid to prepare. In official sporting events you all participate with the same standard or approved equipment. What an embarrassing strawman.
>why are you defending Gamefreak locking basic QOL updates behind DLC a year after release?
I agree with you 100%, if you get caught you deserve it. It's been made so easy to not get caught that anyone who does deserve the consequences.
Or just stick to Showdown since that's all you want to play.
>I have over 100 of most types
unironically not enough
Heaven forbid you want to change your type up once and awhile.
>hyper training doesn't make it easier
>nature mints don't make it easier
what did he mean by this?
Hyper training doesn't help you get specific IVs.
Mints are meaningless when you have everstone and synchro
the only specific IV's that matter are 31 and 0, and 0 is pretty niche
mints are even easier than everstone and synchro
>and 0 is pretty niche
you're outing yourself
is there a single person in VGC even using a Cresselia or Enamorus?
There are a few, but not too many.
Getting a Gholdengo with 0spd iv for my trick room team season 1 was miserable.
Well, yeah, getting Goldengo is kind of miserable in general. But it's the work you're expected to put in if you want something. Just wanting something isn't a good enough reason for someone to clap their hands and get it. Not everyone is some stupid fricking over privileged butthole who expects to be given everything they want the moment they want it. I appreciate you for doing the leg work, Anon. You did good.
Homie you're a moron, stop putting stupid shit on a pedestal. There is zero reason for us not being able to change IVs. Once they introduced bottle caps there should've been a way to reset them to 0 and use items to tick them up one by one.
Home is free
Bro SV alone has 400 mons, you really don't need another game unless you're autistic and just HAVE to use the same copy-paste meta Legendary team everyone else has.
tourist here why do people fish for specific 0 IV stats that aren't speed?
0 attack on special attackers means you take as minimum as possible from the move Foul Play, which is a dark-type move that uses your own attack stat against you. It's the ultimate min-max.
Cress is also weak to dark for the record.
Attack is the only other one that matters because self-inflicted damage from Confusion bases off your Attack stat. If your mon is a special attacker then there's no reason for it to have a high Attack stat. Also, the move Foul Play bases off the other Pokemon's attack stat instead of your own.
0 attack has extremely minor edge case usefulness with confusion damage and foul play that never actually come into play.
it's insanely autistic to actually care about.
flying to japan to compete in worlds 🙂
being asked to buy an extra game >:(
I hate VGC players. They want us to feel bad for them when they shit on BBND
BASED Lewtwo back at it again
>comp players hate playing games so they should be allowed to cheat when playing games
Why not just stop playing at that point
>VGC shouldn't play the game because....they just shouldn't have too ok?
He is not wrong but it doesn't matter, a big part of the appeal of Pokemon games is roleplaying that you are a Pokemon trainer and having competitive events plays into that fantasy for a lot of people. It's the price you pay playing a competitive role playing game.
Standing still for 30 minutes while clicking A on a basket is peak roleplay
VGCplayers think the rules don't apply to them, it's not a surprise they are chimping out
People are still genning their Pokemon though. If you aren't dumb, your genned mon is literally no different from a completely legitimate one. It's on TPC to actually find the difference between legitimate and legal mons, which historically they're terrible at doing. (It was only a few people that got DQ'd this time around, not some massive purge of players)
What hack check even is there? Altered stats? You can make a Pokemon an exact replica of a legit Pokemon save its internal ID.
lol. lmao even
Imagine looking at yourself in the mirror and thinking the people who got to where they are legitimately is an advantage over you when you literally don't play the game
>Burgers and Eurupoors should be given extra privileges to break the rules the Japanese have to follow
What does she mean by this?
>nips get an unfair advantage for not cheating
And these people unironically consider themselves pros, look at his jacket.
Motherfricker literally smokes crack
>Develops a series where you need to play 30 games to transfer the Pokemon you want
>Get's upset that top competitive people are hacking
The absolute state of TPC
The Dex Cut continues to be a mistake
You'd think they'd fully commit to the dex cuts instead of giving an inevitable free pass to every single legendary, UB and a few designated shillmons (soon to include every single paradox as well), but evidently not.
>Implying they were ever going to follow their own rules and resist the shilling
Really? It takes like an hour to get a competitive pokemon with all the stuff if SV, unless you want to make a trick room team
Why would I watch vgc if every single player treats it like some side hobby and doesn't take it seriously and hacks their teams
it is a human RIGHT to be able to cheat for dumb shit like this!!!
I
AM
BEING
OPPRESSED
It really is absurd how “Play the Pokemon Game” is being treated as some unreasonable, insurmountable challenge by pro players. I suppose it makes sense though, considering they had a cheat tool that’s virtually undetectable when used right and they still got caught cause they were too lazy to think about it more than a second.
They should consider themselves lucky they didn't get banned from future competitions. Now they can just pay more attention to the hacks and keep doing it like always, so it really shows how entitled these people are by shitting themselves over getting DQ'd this once.
