Pokemon + Fortnite

I thought this was the dumbest idea, but apparently I'm the one thats dumb. People really like fortnite pokemon that much?

people wanted a pokemon version of Ark since ark was in early-early access.

gamefreak has been coasting big time for a long time.

How will this affect every other AAA game for the next 5 to 10 years?

My thoughts is to merge various popular takes.

Pokemon is one of the most successful rpg games in history and fortnite/shooters on PC. So combined, you get palworld. Maybe someone will take Palworld and combine it with Elden Ring and create a nonsensical game thats gonna be a hit.

I'm gonna be honest, I'm never going to be able to take the "Game Freak are lazy" argument seriously again when people are calling the 537th Ark/Rust-like on PC an example of "not being lazy"

the irony is that even with how hastily put together palworld is is that it still higher quality than gamefreak has put out in the last decade or 2.

Palworld is just a bootleg Pokemon. Game Freak SHOULD'VE been able to make something much better and polished, but they never did. That makes them lazy.
The fact this bootleg early access shit is doing so well is proof of that.

Everyone and their mother has thought of "pokemon with guns" before. It's just the first time it's properly done.

Fortnite was already just Minecraft PUBG

Are you legitimately shocked that if you take two things people like and smoosh them together, you will get out something people also like? Especially kids?

And Minecraft was supposed to be first person Dwarf Fortress. According to the lead Palworld dev, DF is his favorite game. So of all the mongrelized DNA in the mix, Palworld has the most legitimacy as whatever i dont feel like finishing this post

    >highest concurrent player count
That's a fricking lie. Back when pubg still cost money it hit like 2.5 million players. You can just retroactively say that doesn't count because it's free now. Why are Japs such sneaky liars?

I thought the novelty would wear off pretty quickly, but it's looking better than I expected.
Everyone has been starving for an open world pokemon. All those numbers could've been Game Freak's.

Open world pokemon is fine, but the problem I have is fricking guns in this world. If you replace guns with magic, thats a more something of my liking. Maybe even allow players to customize between various roles.

If you want to take active nuker role, then a full on glass cannon mage build. If you want to tank while your pokemon attacks, let me build a more tanky aspect. If you however want to empower your pokemon to make it stronger/faster/deadlier, let me play support.

Guns just ruins the whole thing for me

That stat isn't even correct. PUBG had 3-4 million. Why doesn't it show up in the charts?
