I know several people who sincerely sexualize different objectmons, especially the magnemite and honedge lines. Rare certainly, but I definitely wouldn't say "most" objectmon smut is a joke.

Because it's not well liked. The whole Goth line in general isn't well liked, in both smash or passes Gothielle has a 50% smash rate or less so if that thing isn't well liked no shot any of it's pre-evos are going to be there. In reality the only middle evolutions that are liked that way are Braixen and Kirlia making the ralts and fennekin line the only line to have two evolutions score high.
