In spirit. A lot of the music that plays in-game is taken from the MD games. MD is a dungeon crawler and not a roguelite though.
distribute the original game with the assets/names randomized and distribute a patch via torrents, though this will be hard considering it's open source and probably gets updates on a weekly basis

It's an electron app sure, but I use it. It gives me better performance than playing it in Firefox (well Waterfox, as FF doesn't even load it). But what did you expect?

I like the daily run more than the main game. In the main game the important fights feel too far apart and it goes on for 200 battles, so I start to get bored. The pacing in the daily run feels a lot better and it only goes on for 50 battles.
I want them to finish implementing moves like skorupi's fell stinger.

I dunno why you haven't moved on to romhacks. Vanilla MW is too uninspired. Levels are too open and empty, too long.
some are alright. not enough of them try to be fun games though. kaizo came out and now everyone wants to copy that. pixel perfect platformers just arent fun to play

Is a separate category. I personally can't go back to vanilla MW, it's just too empty and uninspired. There's at least a dozen regular mario world hacks that show innovation and are memorable pieces of art. I can still go back to vanilla Mario 3 because the levels are shorter and there's no padding. Also M3 has barely any romhacks worth playing, maybe three in total.

Alot of them are power creeped. Things like scald are ridiculous in the context of gen 3 power scale.

I've been suggesting for ages a function that allows you to make certain gens more common than others. Having a 0,0001% chance of gen 9 mon showing up (or moves learned etc) would make emerald randomized runs so much better. I can't appreciate nidoking in a run when I got a rolycoly.

you can't rip animated sprites from the 3D games that don't have them

All Pokémon gen 5 and below have animated sprites those that aren’t from those gens but have animated sprites are fan made that the dev got from somewhere/someone
