Could this possibly work?
You'd have to define what you mean by "works", since there's a number of separate angles by which the hypothetical breaks down in practice. At the very least, if everything else worked as described at face value then existing PTE games show that they operate much closer to MMO economics than any real-world financial mechanism, and thus don't remain feasible for very long before becoming completely valueless.
The idea of one currency that can be adjusted to each game and used as upgrades to armor, adding higher % of loot , can be mined and transfered to another game for an extra speed boost to build time, or to unlock armor in a completely different game?
NFTs are a scam.
Cryptocurrency is not.
but how come all the coins are crashing into the dirt? The only one that seems like it'll last is bitcoin.
It's not a scam. I've invested 15k on this.
>But they're all going DOWNNNNN
If you're not invested in this. Then you haven't done enough research to know why it's going down. Which means you should shut the frick up about what you don't know before spouting bullshit like it's a scam.
>But it's ALL CRASHING DOWN STOCKS ARE DOWN YOURE LOSING MONEY
Look up bear market. And don't reply to me again stocklet.
>I've invested 15k on this.
Because you're stupid.
The only crypto that is not a scam is btc

If it's tied to any PTE system, no for the reasons already stated. If it's not, then it's just real-cash microtransactions with extra steps.
>The year is 2030.
No it's not lol do NFTards really it's 2022 dumbass
All crypto is a scam
>the year is 2030
>paragraphs that follow describe something other than slaving away in a chinese lithium mine
lmfao what a moron
Instead you slave on the internet with the Blockchain
Why would anyone want this? Grind game A to play game B to grind better in game C, to get a head start in game D. Makes no fricking sense. And spending TWO years to achieve one skill/power? The frick backwards shit is this? That's a JOB. You play games for FUN. This sounds like shit Chinese prisons would do to fund the CCCP.
Worst part is that there will be core dependencies that force you to play specific trash games like match-3's for exclusive materials, or the overall ecosystem with have a meta form that forces you into specific games for specific materials, such as having to play trash match-3's for the sake of efficiency. Botters would also love to have the ability to be able to have so many options available to them. As soon as one game starts cracking down, move to the next one, always have new games available to dump off your goods. Also it would take having all these games coordinate so that their material values are level across all platforms. If those obsidian were to become worthless in an update for one game, everyone would just unload onto the others for quick cash outs. You'd see volatility everywhere at all times in markets. Not to mention that it'd take one duplication exploit in a buggy game to kill completely unrelated games.
And midwits believed every word then threw their money down the toilet. Everything went according to plan.
Sounds like a nightmare.
Do these people even play games?
>Every single action is a required re-portable taxable event
>Every single one
So many people are going to turn white over the next few years when they see what they have to report
Hilarious thread
Anything else came out of it?
It's not hilarious when you see all the replies praising this.
the morons following that guy are the kind of gullible idiots that would actually be into that crypto gaming shit. normal gamers would read that post and react basically just like we are reacting here.
Someone should hire this guy to write horror stories
So instead of games being self-contained experiences, everything will become unfair and pay to win? And this is supposed to be a good thing?
