Monkey Island 1&2 were around the peak of old "Point Click" pc gaming (they got decent remasters recently, for those who don't want to play grandpa's version).
MI3 was the last good one, and the series took a nosedive into "meh" territory after that.
Nu-Monkey Island was initially hyped because it was managed by a guy from the original MI1&2 team.
Turn out the guy has absolute shit tastes and old fans are slowly realizing the old games were successful *despite* him being there instead of *thanks* to him being there.
