Choices and consequences in those games are basically one lane of flavour text, there are two or three rails and life goes on. The first was good because of the black dude and the little kid, when the kid took the role of mc whatever who cares.
You can tell a character is doomed anyway after saving them because they suddenly talk a lot less. I think after she freezes in the trailer she says one or two more lines before dying.
