My pc is held together by my web belt from the military. It's a fricked up side panel hanging off i7 4770 with a rx590 thrown in. It costed me roughly 300 dollars and I can play starfield on high. Cope homosexual
>He wastes space and keeps old gen consoles to keep playing his games if Sony doesn't let him rebuy "next gen remastered"
Matters of months Sony decides to release Bloodborne on PC >Matters of months it gets to be playable with emulation
Last thread, or the one before that, I mentioned I was having cooling issues with my CPU and whether to get a watercooler or not. Turns out the problem was that I didn't screw down my Noctua Chromax well enough, but even then my idle temps were still 50-60c so I bought the watercooler anyways.
Since I always frick up everything I do when it comes to computer builds and because I wanted the meme cooler, I have clearance issues and I can't fit the second fan onto the radiator because it's crowded by the pump. Ordered a couple of Noctua 120mm fans that are 15mm thick to see if they'll fit in.
I was the u12a chromax black, and the front fan was blowing into the heatsink, and the rear fan was pulling air out of the heatsink and then into the exhaust fan in the back of the case. I had just switched out the CPU as well so it had just been cleaned and has fresh paste on it, I don't know what else to say.
What's the better option? >spending top bucks for top of the line card (4090) and riding it til it's on it's last legs
vs >spending much less on a worse card (4070S or 4070TiS) and then upgrading it in a couple of years
E.g. in the former case I buy a 4090 and use it for 8 years until it's completely obsolete and only then upgrade, while in the latter I buy a 4070TiS and in 4 years upgrade to let's say a 6070 for another 4 years
I'm interested in VR, AIshit, 3D modelling and 1440p gaymen - is 4070TiS enough for all of the above?
So far it feels like the latter feels like a better option - yes, in total I spend around the same money in both cases (maybe a bit more with 2 cards due to inflation and price adjustments) and I get less performance at the start, but then I get a much newer and much better card in the middle which will help even out the overall performance/time, while 4090 will be showing it's age already
The former option is better in general (assuming MSRP). Though I can't help but suggest you become a waitgay and look forward to the "5090" at the end of the year.
In your case you will appreciate the 4090 more and feel less shitty about new cards for a while.
If you care at all about AIshit, you literally cannot choose the second option. You need VRAM and lots of it, and none of the bottom barrel cards will do that.

Yeah, I plan on upgrading from my 3080 to a top of the line 50xx card when they come out, specifically for AI shit. This new Stable Cascade shit came out and I can't even use it properly because it is designed for 16GB of VRAM and my card only has 10GB. I can still use it, but it takes forever and my results suck.
I only play games before 2006. I don't need a $2,000 gayman PC. I just play LAN games with my friends: Unreal Tournament, Counter-Strike, Return To Castle Wolfenstein, Jedi Outcast 2, etcetera.

I preferred the lightsaber-only servers(Clan Apathy was a popular one). No-one had any weapons besides the lightsaber, and the general culture was you hung out with your friends and when you wanted to duel someone, you dueled someone. Pure unfiltered kino.

i did some of that and with the console command for the realistic saber whatever too
but using guns and letting people deflect and feel like a badass doing it was a big part of how i liked to play, truer cinema
watched one video from linus, and in over three hours built my box no issues and its been serving me well since 2018. ive completely forgot what parts it even has, and im due for some upgrade soon. never clean it never push it to its max either, i just game and work. and im also moronic. if i can do it you can do it. get a static wrist thingy tho. thats what i used. and maybe a friend too
>32GB DDR4 >R5 3600X >1660TI >500GB NVME, 2TB SSD, 1TB HDD
not the most powerful machine out there but it plays everything I want it to just fine. will probably upgrade to a 3060 12GB or something in the 40xx lineup when it becomes affordable if I need more VRAM.
/v should buy a 4090 and Huang even took pay cut for that.
Nvidia is no exception, it seems: people just aren’t buying GPUs like they used to, a report from The Register notes. CEO Jensen Huang has taken a hefty $2.5 million pay cut as a result of the company falling short of its targets (though his compensation package still adds up to more than $21 million, so don’t worry about him too much).
The graphics card giant has just released its staggeringly comprehensive 2023 annual review, in which it noted that sales had been impacted by ‘economic headwinds, geopolitical tension, and a product supply chain that swung from severe shortage to excess’.
>spending thousands of dollars to play console ports and indie shit
uhh... lol?

I threw it outside and smashed it. waiting to save up to get a new one

>somebody reposted my pc
Bros am I famous?
To prove it really is mine, a pic with my foot next to it
Why do you have pics of my feet?
Prove it's yours by posting your foot next to your pc then
Why do the latinx posters on this site hate pcs? Can they really only afford Xbox series S and hate people that can afford a decent pc?
moronic
>fell for the water cool meme for a low class gpu
What’s the build
you'll be the most popular kid in algebra 1 class
But I finished uni already
cool. don't cut your toenails that short, you risk an ingrown nail
Trips of truth, I shall follow
They're just annoying when too long though
the pink part you can see on your big toe is the risky part. rest are probably fine
i don't want to spend half of my fricking life savings to make a decent one that will be obsolete 10 years from now
>What's your excuse?
I'm not a friendless loser homosexual so I just play on PS5 with my friends instead.
Stop pretending like you have friends Snoy
>the meme case
How to admit you're a wienersucking homosexual without saying it
so what are the steps for building a new pc in the year of our lord 2024?
is logical increments still useful?

AiOs are always worse than air coolers, despite their higher prices
That could be the case, but I'm definitely getting better temps than I was with the air cooler.
Then you had the wrong air cooler (get at minimum a NH-D15) or you oriented your fans wrong.
I was the u12a chromax black, and the front fan was blowing into the heatsink, and the rear fan was pulling air out of the heatsink and then into the exhaust fan in the back of the case. How did you apply your paste? Did you just put a small dot in the center? Use an X? Spread it with the tool provided like a moron (never ever do this)
Dot method as usual.
>Loose, Fatty/Oily stool that is SMALL
I frickin laugh at you child, and your tiny poops. Your diet is garbage.
Yeah? well if you have bigger shits post proof then.Yeah thats what i thought.

Are you the lol. Black folk poster? if you are keep up the great work
Piss in your own mouth instead, Nikola.
4090 will unironically carry you for a decade IF you aren't moronic with settings like 1080ti Black folk are.
My gtx1080 is still going strong. Games still default to ultra settings.
stop playing decade old games, pavel.
Bg3 isn't decades old.
1080p gaming is pretty nice.
Aight, 4090/waiting for 5090 it is then

I like your liquid cooling set up.
What case is that?
Hyte Y90
I think it doesn't look that great but it's really popular
>always worse
Depends on the scenario. Some cases are more optimised for AIOs
Here's my PC
One side of it anyway
To play... what games exactly? Modern gaming has been shit for over 15 years.
All older games in 4k 200fps of course.
Why the frick are you even here if you hate the hobby.
I only play games before 2006. I don't need a $2,000 gayman PC. I just play LAN games with my friends: Unreal Tournament, Counter-Strike, Return To Castle Wolfenstein, Jedi Outcast 2, etcetera.

You sound like an unbelievably massive homosexual. Don't talk to me.
You play games after 2006? You sound like an unbelievably massive homosexual. Don't talk to me.
>2006 was 18 years ago
bros... what happened?
You think that's bizarre? Half-Life 2 came out 20(TWENTY) years ago.
Graphically this was pretty relevant and impressive well into the PS4's life.

as a techlet what are my chances of fricking up building a pc and having it not post on the first attempt?
Small if you just follow a video
You might just miss a cable or forget to flip a switch
Just read the documentation, watch tutorials, and you'll be fine. And watch out for static.
You have to be clinically moronic to frick up building a computer in the current year.
if you know the term "post" you're already far ahead of the average first time builder

my gaming pc is from 2013
and let's be honest, it was a mining pc not a gaming pc

>7800X3D
>32GB 6000CL30
>RTX 4090
Got a new monitor in transit (360hz OLED) CS2 is gonna look crisp.
I just bought a 7800X3D and 4070 Super
How long do you think that'll last me?
5-7 years
Depends on you more than anything.
about until 5070 comes out

i will buy a 4090 for $550 as long as a 4070 is $300
I built my own pc for a fraction of the cost.
