It's interesting how well implemented multiplayer radically changes people's perception about games. Goldeneye wouldn't be so beloved if it weren't for the multiplayer that is almost unplayable by today's standards. The game is also pretty mediocre as an FPS, despite having a solid gameplay, it's too shallow and simple, but the fact that it made so many people have fun among friends in the past makes the perception of the game, even today, to be strongly subjective.
