the game was kino but it being on gamecube was not. there is a reason it was eventually ported to PC and thats where everyone plays it now to this day.
nostalgia is a powerful thing anon, i can imagine the moments were quite meaningful for you as a child and theres nothing i can say that can change your mind, im simply telling you the truth which is that mmos simply play much better on pc than console
You mean with all the water effects and such missing? Episode 4 sucks and Blue Burst only made single player a massive pain in the ass. They couldn't even port the fricking font over. The UI looks horrible.
>what the frick was the thought process behind this monstrosity???
The Gamecube has a port for a broadband adapter, and thus allows network play. However, Nintendo left it up to developers as to whether to implement netplay or not, so only a handful of games ended up using it: >1080' Avalance >Homeland >Jikkyou Powerful Pro Yakyuu 10 (baseball game) >Kirby Air Ride >Mario Kart: Double Dash!! >Phantasy Star Online Episode I & II >Phantasy Star Online Episode I & II Plus >Phantasy Star Online Episode III: C.A.R.D. Revolution
The infamous ASCII keyboard controller in OP's pic was made specifically for Phantasy Star for communication.
Frick Splatoon overall. >IP making trillions >online gets worse the more games they shit out >maps get worse >still using the abomination called p2p connection to host games >disconnections up the ass every time in 3 >completely moronic devices to chat online + phone app like in your picture
God i love the 2000's. PSO comes out and the easiest way to communicate they decide is to make this fricking thing.
I don't know what happened anon's but the world seems to have gotten a little dimmer since those times.
Picrel hands down
On xbox, the same thing can be achieved with any phone. And you don't have to be near the console, you can literally play on your xbox from your phone while you're away
Sonny really dropped the ball in this generation
You fail to understand how drastic an improvement it was to have one of those(or later, one of the ramshackle PS/2 to GCN converter plugs) for playing PSO on the Gamecube.
Post
>yfw
this exists because someone had the moronic idea to put mmos on consoles.
PSO on GCN was KINO. Eat marbles.

Yeah you weren't there.

>there is a reason it was eventually ported to PC
huh? it was on pc before it was on gamecube
it was on the Dreamcast first
yeah but that's not very "eventually" since it was about the same time as version 2's release
idk im not the original anon you replied to

Bruh people still play it on Dreamcast. The only platform it's not being played on is the original Xbox
you didn't play the games
dreamcast*
as opposed to putting them on pcs?
years later and morons still think PSO is an MMO
only NGS is and that's a fricking stretch since the game is dead as frick
The Xbox 360 one was actually pretty neat
The chatpad? I have one for my 360 controller, and my (free) Xbone controller.
what the frick was the thought process behind this monstrosity??? why not just a really small keyboard like the Xbox accessory???

>Gankertendo still defends this
Nope. All consoles past 6th gen try too hard.
I think you would struggle to find even a single person defending the dogshit NSO app, anywhere
what exactly am I looking at here?
The setup required in order to have voicechat running on the Switch.
The phone is a part of that? Wut?
That has to be unofficial, right?
game running on Switch
Nintendo Online app on phone
Adapter combines the audio in/out from both devices to one headset
k you win
I've never seen anybody defend it
Speculation on reasoning is not defending.
Frick Splatoon overall.

This is what steam controller 2 needs to do with features of the Steam Deck in-place other than the screen.
That controller is legendary, zoomer. It was amazingly light and great to use.
Looks great, make one for switch 2 so we can play Splatoon with mouse and keyboard please, or just let me plug in my existing keyboard
Are there any other GC games that can use the keyboard? Sega should've released a quick dirty port of Typing of the Dead 2 for it...

the funny thing is the hardware is literally from refurbished phones
You can actually do the same thing with playstation. Sony even teamed up with a 3rd party to make an official controller for phones.
THIS generation?
The only good Sony consoles are the PS1 and PSP.
PS2 sucked but they had the most games because Nintendo fricked up so much with the GameCube and Microsoft alienated the Japanese. It won by default.
PS3 was a disaster.
PS4, see PS2. It had nothing good about it, but the competition were never even in the race.
trying too hard
I still can't believe this homie trooned out
linus replaced him with another fat autist too lmao
The new autist is not nearly as 'tismkino
>what 0 pussy does to a mtf
baka
>When you're so lonely you start dating yourself in the mirror
april fools 2024 had a troony jumpscare in it
I had no idea the Sammy one existed. What's the difference?
I'll never understand why japs can't just use a computer.
Love playing PSOBB with controller in hand and keyboard in lap chilling on the couch. Nothing comfier bros.
Come home.
Kino.
What's with all these buttons? You only need to type the letters e, r, g, n, and i while gaming.
the gamecube as whole
>stupid little discs
>doesn't fit anywhere
>sticks out like a sore thumb
>controller dumb
the only thing the GCN had was the eronomics of the controller before you had to actually play
Episode 3 itself was a monstrosity
Virtual Boy
