Turning from Fell to half-Fell doesn't make gaining a second hair color not stupid. Let's not pretend we don't know why she has that hair. They wanted her to have Switch colored hair, and worked backwards from that to explain it in the narrative, not the other way around.

The design would be fine if it was in a different context. It's the mismatch that is the problem. It's like having the Berserk artist be the next Atelier character designer. It doesn't go with the artist's style. Now, it is possible she could have curbed her natural tendencies and made something fitting that compromises between her style and the game's setting, but she didn't.
