I remember seeing stuff like Garbage Pail Kids and a bunch of parodies of popular shows/movies that had some type of barf/bogger equivalent and wondering who the would actually want to buy them
They spammed the shit out of this on every kids channel. Even more than the console games.

I can't remember the last time I saw a game advertised on TV, albeit I dont watch much.
I think companies realized gamers are all on the internet and spending $$ on cable advertising is a waste.
