The way you gradually find out all your early party members have been victimized by you in the past is disturbing. Also does anyone know why Anna is seemingly brainwashed to love you? I thought that would connect back to her dad somehow but never got any explanation of that from the game.

I don't think her reason for following you is explicitly explained other than that she's tormented by her personal demons, and tormented people are drawn to you by your nature. As for loving you, I don't think she's brainwashed or obligated to, but that is one potential path that requires certain dialogue choices and iirc some stat checks like CHA
I just remember at some point following that dialogue, she says something to the effect of "it feels like I'm being compelled to be close to you, it drives me wild, I don't understand why," which I guess sounds normalish out of context but it had a strong implication of her being programmed.
