I play a rogue too, and in the beginning I had tons of trouble against just normal packs of enemies. After a while I just got a """legendary""" that supplements my core skill, Flurry, and changed leveled up a few other skills. Now I am melting through literally everything.
I'm not done with the story yet. But I have yet to encounter a boss that lasts longer than a minute or longer than their story dialogue.
Or a pack of mobs that don't die instantly as soon as they gather around me.
I don't even have proper gear or a meta build or anything. I just pick whatever has more armor or a higher iLvl and pick the skills I like the most.

I watched a stream of a guy (Sponsored) who played Necro and struggled on basically everything. Lots of issues, but the main one was that he literally didn't get a core skill even though he could. He just stood there, waving his huge sickle while his skellies slowly widdled down enemies. He died multiple times to the easiest bosses and even raged about it.
Until chat told him to get bone spear or whatever. Then he got that and just didn't use it.
Honestly, I have no idea why people call DSP bad. DSP is fricking average. I've seen worse. A LOT worse.

I'm playing a darkness Necro with no spender and a builder that I basically don't use. I just have all of my minions out, with extra minions from legendaries, and all of the minion survival skills. I do nothing but spam corpse explosion (which costs nothing and happens instantly with no cooldown), because with my setup I am shitting out a dozen corpses a second. On top of that, every time I generate a corpse I fortify, so I am perpetually fully fortified and essentially unkillable. Meanwhile, I have a cloud of fartgas covering the entire screen, dealing enormous damage to everything, while my minions tank and spank for me. The fartgas counts as shadow damage, which I have a ton of passives keying off of. This does not feel like an intended build.

Instead it's just a numbers simulator and most of the quests are shallow. I don't want to kill mobs nonstop, give me a good story, good atmosphere and some good motivation to be doing what I'm doing. Visuals, tone, and atmosphere are leagues better than 3. Baseline monsters aren't as big of a joke as they were in 3 either so you aren't just getting a billion skeletons shoved at you that all die because a single hot key was pressed.
They definitely put it back in the grimdark setting which I like a lot.
That said, it feels slower than it should be and the pacing is not grabbing me.

I have this sentiment too. The pacing feels off. Maybe its the level scaling. I went to the first main town and noticed there was a waypoint back at the beginner area, so i went to grab it - did a couple dungeons in that area- and now im level 17 without having started any main quest stuff beyond the prologue shit. Speaking of, the prologue was really fricking good and its a shame the rest of the game couldnt be more like that. As soon as it ended and i could start doing my own thimg I was like "oh...this is just D3 again". I did like D3, but I was hoping for more build autism in D4 and so far its looking like there's actually less.

I’m liking it so far but haven’t gotten to WT3 yet so it might drop of once I get there.
Poison Rogue feels fun and has melted everything so far but I’ve tried the other types and they seem decent too.
Legendaries feel pretty lackluster so far though and getting 2 daggers to drop at the same time with an identical look kinda reeks of laziness since you know they are saving the unique designs for the cash shop/BP bullshit.

I just don't get the point of these games. Like, even playing 2 or poe everything just seems really repetitive and spammy. The only selling point tends to be the heavy metal, biblical suffering aesthetic, but from what I've seen PoE has more balls in this than any of the diablo games.

Beat the campaign, got to 51, and did the capstone dungeon to unlock world tier 3. The capstone dungeon was generic garbage, as expected. A giant empty room with like 1000 of the exact same enemy to kill. They can't even make unique dungeons for the capstone dungeons? Clearly there is nothing even remotely interesting that's going to happen after the credits roll, so what is even the point of going to 100? Like jesus fricking christ how could this possibly take 7 years to make? The combat has not changed AT ALL since level 25 despite me putting in like 28 more talent points. 28 points that did NOTHING. How in the actual FRICK is this game at 88 on metacritic? I got this garbage basically for free with leftover bnet balance from old WoW gold conversion, and I still feel ripped off.

Don't feel too bad, I bought the ultimate edition of D4 and I'm enjoying it, but I also bought the CE of ToTK, the special pro controller AND the Amiibo... and I fricking hate that game, I was over it by the end of the tutorial.

The inventory in D4 is tiny and makes you teleport back to town and back through 2 loading screens to deal with it... The inventory in Zelda is also a grid in the menu. If you mean the quick menu is annoying then you just sort by most used and it puts the 3 useful items you're gonna be using right at the start. Light seeds and bombs are like the only 2 items ever worth using using the quick menu....

The mouse controls are like any other ARPG, but they did do the controller support better than anything else has. I still don't use it though, it's too imprecise. Definitely better for movement though.
