i actually had high hopes after playing Diabo 2:Resurrected, but as soon as i learned it was live service slop i purged in thoughts of hope from my mind.
As someone who played the original D2 when it released and the original D2LoD when it released, this comment is actually more repulsive than D3 and D4 being soulless cashgrabs,
D2R had so many god damn problems like the game not launching with an adequate Battlenet replacement, you don't even need to mention the Devs that worked on it openly admitting to sabotaging the remake
Why did people buy into the hype anyway? From all the stuff I saw the game looked awful, not just combat wise but in visuals. EVERYTHING looks fricking grey. It's hideous, I don't know how people can stand looking at that for extended periods of time.
Marketing got people to get kfc doubledowns. There are a vast majority of people that went out pre release to get access to the game by eating at kfc. Let that sink in.

D3 basically filled the void that the absence of gauntlet & similar games left in the ps360 generation. There was a handful of other games but they weren't as well known nor anywhere as big or in depth as that game for consoles.

90% of the hype and buzz was people trying to get into the first 1000 for hardcore. Game legit fell off after after the buzz around it ended
