After Galar Pokemon received their first cross-gen evolutions, which of the Alola Pokemon do you think has the potential to evolve in the future?

I doubt Komala evolbes due to its ability. That thing with eviolite might be nightmarish

considering how much of a shit amoonguss continues to be in vgc despite their repeated attempts to nerf it and sleep through things like safety goggles and electric terrain, i think something with a status immunity being pushed makes a lot of sense. even more so if the theories about australia region next end up being correct

Komala not evolving this gen is shocking. Especially when you see what mons they ARE giving evos too.

It felt like a very complete gen for some reason.

However, I could see the two monkeys getting something

    >minior
    >komala
    >shiinotic
pretty much the only ones. pyukumuku is meant to be a dumb gimmick mon like shuckle or smeargle, it won't ever evolve.

Gumshoos, Ribombee, Bewear, Shiinotic, Bruxish, Pallosand. I could see all of these. We recently got Duraludon and Bisharp, so that's why I'm including some of them. Heck maybe even Dhelmise could evolve

    >Possible
Yungoos "All 2 stage early shitmon really if the evo does it's job well like linoone it'll get a regional"
Morelull "expect the suckier non Breloom/Amoongus 2shroom mons to evolve,"
Salandit "Eventual Male evo seems inevitable."
Komala "Not strong enough, clearly open ended"
Krabrawler "Split evo non-regional as it's a crab that evolves to adapt to it's surroundings"

    >Ehhhh
Turtonator "If Duraludon can Gammanator sounds rad"
The fish "don't think they'll bother salvaging that tho"

    >Very Unlikely/Regional variant before evo
Mimikyu "Mascot-tier shillmon, will get costume forms before evo"
    Aquanid "Regional form mon"
Bewear "Too solid and iconic, would see a dark or ghost Bwear long before an evo"
Rockruff "I tihnk they've tried their best to popularize him"
Golisopod "is an ability that's a free eject pack for a very hard hitting mon with a stab priority that awful?, regional"
Lurantis "Pretty solid in reliability and niche, regional"
Palosand "Sits in line with Muk it'll get regionals but not evolve"
STALL WALL mon "regional anemone and horses"

Komala is the only one who looks unfinished imo
They can also do a bigger castle with Palossand

Honestly all the two-stage mons feel pretty complete as-is, and even a lot of the single-stages. The only ones I could see really getting evos are Togedemaru, Bruxish and maybe Pyukumuku.

The one i'd be most hopeful for is a Male Salandit evo though, maybe one that expands on the bandit/outlaw theme. The dex explicitely states that the males don't evolve in the wild because they malnourish themselves to feed the females, so in theory there's no reason why we couldn't get a male to evolve in captivity (maybe with an evolution condition relating to feeding it curry/sandwiches/whatever regional food gimmick is introduced that gen).

That's quite a novel concept with an evolution that only exists in captivity

I think a lot of pokemon were originally intended to be "artificial" evolutions that would rarely or never occur naturally in the wild; stuff like Scizor/Steelix or stone/friendship based evolutions like Crobat. It would be nice to have one explicitely stated as only being possible due to the different environmental factors of being with a trainer, and removed of their usual ecosystem that prevents them from evolving.

A male salandit evo with the dawn stone would round out the dawn stone to have the minimum 3 evolutions every other stone has atm

There's a lot like Crabonimable or Gumshoos that desperately need one owing to how bad they are but they feel like pretty finished concepts so I can't see them getting an evolution.

Good candidates are Ribombee, Lurantis, Morelull, Comfey, Pyukumuku, Minior, Komala, Turtonator, Togedemaru and Bruxish - all these pokemon are generally outperformed by other similar Pokemon and none of them are third-stage.

I could see a stage 3 for Shiinotic and Lurantis, and a stage 2 for Pyukumuku, Bruxish, and Togedemaru

These are all pretty complete families. Maybe Salandit could get a male-only regional evo.
