You need to get into theorycrafting youtube. Stop caring about the story being "good" or "bad" and watch people talk about the lore for a few hours.
Soon you won't actually care what is happening in the plot anymore and all that matters is what it adds to the lore.
For example Nero showing up in Remake is not good for the story, but it IS good for the lore and the theories.
Once you're a fan of FF7 theorycrafting literally everything that happens in the story, no matter what, is good - because it expands the lore. You can apply this to all the FF games and suddenly "bad writing" or "plotholes" simply disappear.

Also, combat is always the most secondary aspect of any RPG game. Only Souls-homosexual zoombies judge a game by its combat, and only care if it's real time or not.
being a different style of combat doesn't mean "butchered", friend. It just means you didn't like it. And judging from the rest of your response it would seem you prefer games that don't have an extensive focus on their combat system to begin with, so I don't know if I can find much credibility in your opinion. I also wouldn't have cared either way if it was turn based or real time. I still had a fun time because I found the systems engaging.

Okay, and BAD type. FF7 demake belongs in the latter, taking the auto-pilot shit of FFXV, but REDUCING air-time and AA actions. It's even worse if you try to play the idiotically named "classic mode", which LITERALLY controls the characters for you automatically.
It also ruins the games' aesthetics and map design by CLEARLY framing "combat arenas" into the maps, resulting these huge empty squares of nothing everywhere.

I disagree, FF7R feels exponentially less automated than XV did, but I do wish there was a lot more maneuverability. I'd say the combat system it honestly kinda reminded me the most was XII oddly enough, but XII was also way more automated than FF7R. Now that was a game where you just walked up to anything and sat the controller down and have the gambits do all the work for ya. Anyway, it's something I hope Rebirth refines because I feel the systems it's combat has are better than it's faults, and with tweaking could be one of the best combat systems in the series in my opinion.

This is more of a complaint about the presentation rather than how the combat actually feels itself, but it's still a valid complaint to have. I also have a lot of issues with how Remake handles it's aesthetics and map design as well.
Anyway, like I said before, I'm not playing this game as an outright replacement for FF7, because I have way too many issues with how it's going about adapting the core material, and overall game structure to consider it even close to definitive. But it's honestly far from a bad game. It CAN be fun when the combat allows itself to be utilized to its fullest potential, which is what I hope Rebirth can deliver.

The DEmake zoom zooms don't even realize that they're playing a (unfinished) SEQUEL of a SEQUEL. So of course they will buy the NEXT SEQUEL to it as well, without ever playing the original.
