Jesus Christ. If you're going to nominate some movieslop normiebrand for GOTY do it with Jedi Survivor or Spiderman, they're both far better games.

Probably Zelda since the reaction was similar to BotW when it came out with a slightly lower ceiling overall, Starfield too given 'Skyrim in space' is a solid concept to most. Spidey might come into contention with Journos/the TGA board since it's based on a prestigious non-vidya IP plus the acclaim of the original (dunno about Miles' game).
Beyond that is up in the air if they get filtered by Armored Core, consider RE4 on the level of RE2, if they actually enjoyed Diablo IV beyond its launch window.
Mario Wonder and Hogwarts are absolutely not getting nominated, the former is a basic 2D Mario which isn't 'bold' or 'inspired' to their kind even if the level design is good, and the latter has a massive 'controversy' attached to it despite it being the biggest sleeper hit of the year bar none (financially and good WoM by normalgays), whereas journos are actively against it just to 'show it to the chuds' and prove they're 'not transphobes like she-who-must-not-be-named'; it's got a snowflake's chance in hell.

The only other games I could think would be on there are FFXVI if it has the staying power to last a couple more months and the story hits them instead of the game hating the women they defend, Hi-Fi Rush if they based it on not being an 'experience' like everything else and being a basic 2000s vidya, and Pizza Tower as the token indie nominee of the year that seems to stick as well as Cuphead did, for better or worse.
Mario and Spider-Man coming out on the same day is also hilarious and a shitshow I won't miss. R.I.P Sonic lmao
