I expect either Animal Crossing or Mario Kart, with the one that misses it being first half of 2026. I'd bet sooner on Mario Kart, but could really go either way. I expect a huge single-player release around launch. 3D Mario is the most obvious pick, but I also wouldn't count out something less expected. Donkey Kong definitely seemed primed up for something in the near future and a new game would have timed up nicely for DKC's 30th anniversary had this new console dropped end of this year. I would say it's being slept on for an early title next system. Monolith Soft is definitely getting a game around the start of next console, but definitely not Xenoblade. I can see at least one high profile remake or remaster to really show the power jump. One or two new IPs are obvious, with one likely during or right after launch. Metroid Prime depends on whether they're going to push it back for the power increase or not, but I've got a feeling it might happen. Kirby could either be 2025 or 2026 depending on the development cycle now.
A lot of other games come off to me as being best fit to come out in later years of this console. You can't spend all your tokens at once.
Okay, to clarify I meant to say Xenoblade 4. I could see them finally revisiting X due to the timing, although I'm slightly leaning on something new instead.
It's going to be mostly re-releases of the Switch's library with enhancements while the blockbusters are teased and more NSO is dripfed. The timing of Nintendo going after Yuzu is far too convenient, it's a harder sell when people can just go "well I can already emulate the Switch with enhancements, why would I buy your new console?"
They're actually in development hell right now, the compression engine(proprietary meant to turn 20 GB phone games into 800 MB games) is not coping well with massive file sizes exceeding 256 GB is causing a panic (Think Rayman Legends on Switch but worse)
It has 12 GB of RAM but only 8 GB is available for the us as we please as 4 GB is used exclusively for the OS/Decompression/CPU cache.
The GPU runs faster than expected technically outperforming despite running at double clock speeds than the regular switch is crippled by the CPU/RAM cache as it's not optional and it will not survive in the Triple A development cycle.
Like with effort the CPU can outperform the PS5 (Pro included) but only if you know what you're doing as raw compute on it's own is actually worse than the current Switch CPU.
The PS5 Pro situation is even worse as it's offering tools that doesn't translate well back to porting to the PS5 but it's already taking priority and we're not allowed to take full advantage of the full SOC.
Keep your Switches, Abandon the consumer PS5's, get a PS5 Pro, or suffer to the new Xbox powered by Intel.
I'm just a contractor that does temp work for software development currently working with full time devs (a lot of last minute diversity hires expected to do the same work as experienced devs as a lot of studios are trying to do bi yearly contracts to thin out the unadaptable)
You get to see a bunch of odd choices in this industry like the Series S originally had 16 GB of DDR4 RAM.
AMD had a stronger cheaper Switch but lost to Nvidia being able to fit TotK in a 2 GB cart with higher quality textures and audio.
>I have seen the Switch 2 goal posts the last 4 years
that's insane how journos have announced it every year since at least 2021 and are still doubling down right now
>stealth with the sort of systemic gameplay of botw/totk could be super fun
Wouldn't this basically just be Thief but on roids more or less? Would be rad.

>3d Mario >Metroid prime 4 >A Wii sports/12 switch esc game >Splatoon 4 >New Mario kart >Kid Icarus uprising remaster >And any other 3rd parties >Possibly a new IP game? This one is less likely.
other then that, I don't see us getting a big zelda as a launch game cuz we got tears of the kingdom last year. I keep hearing f zero and I think there's some merit too that. I'm still gonna play it safe though.
First, a Mario.
Then there will be a Princess Daisy game. She will be as black as the night.
Animal Crossing pulls double duty as a system seller and a cage to keep their most deranged lunatic fans in to keep them from infesting the online aspects of their other games. If it's going to come out, it's going to need to be released with the console at launch. It's likely they're going to do a bundle with it.
A party game.
An abortion that people will forget about that was developed by one of their break-in studios to be used as a write-off. It won't launch with the console or even be announced until the first Direct following the console's release. It'll probably drop a year after that. Probably a Metroid.
The console will be a refresh of the Switch. Don't expect anything huge. Architecturally, it's a phone disguised as a console without the phone part. Expect tiny, marginal improvements like the DSi delivered over the DS before they dump it like the Wii U. Very few games will be released that actually take advantage of the improvements. It will have a 3 - 5 year service life.

not Zelda this time certainly. It will the next 3d Mario, their typical Wii Sports/ 1 2 switch tech demo game, and a bunch of cross gen stuff.

you're a stupid dumb Black person, show proof or shut the frick up
Likely fake as I've seen this driveby doom poster before.
I have seen the Switch 2 goal posts the last 4 years and we're likely gonna keep seeing this for another 4 years.
Assume it's not even real

are they even human? no conscience whatsoever
so no proof. Got it.
>get a PS5 Pro
hahahaha dilate to death snoy
If nintendo introduces a new ip this gen, what do you think it will be? I think there is an honest to god chance it will be a mascot horror game.
I still berieve in aonuma's thief game, stealth with the sort of systemic gameplay of botw/totk could be super fun
