Yeah, I did play Thief.
Correct
RIP Usenet you were too good for this world
>still no rpg with nude women fighting bigger booba monster women
I always love it when Todd shows up out of nowhere
Fun fact: this post inspired the entire character of Comic Book Guy on the Simpsons
I've played deus ex like 2 years ago;
I've finished prey day before yesterday and pacing after resetting station was bad
You didn't play the best immersive sim ever created®
not a genre
not a philosophy, if is, then piss-poorly executed because having
> heavy boxes or hacking or fighting way through
all the time is sad for niche genre that gets release once in 5 years or so
deus ex is fps/rpg btw
imsim is chud genre in a sense it doesn't exist
Maybe go on more shallow waters because you're out of your depth here.
I'm pretty sure 'immersive sim' was just something either Warren Spector (or some other Looking Glass alum) said back in the 90s and was just a slightly pretentious way of saying emergent gameplay. Something like that anyway.
>pretentious way of saying emergent gameplay
pretentious way of saying System Shock 2 clone
Doug Church used it once to refer to the concept of immersive reality that LGS was still working on. It was a placeholder name. Then Spector popularized it.
Yeah I remembered it being something along those lines.
I've played all of them.
this is not prey
it's the only good game with the name "prey"
Clearly you've never played Looking Glass's true masterpiece
>Arx Fatalis
>Deus Ex
>Prey 2017
>Dishonored
>Thief
>System Shock
Played them all, loved them all.
It's too bad this kind of game doesn't get funded due to zero mainstream appeal.
it's fine. The combat is terrible and the game insists you have to fight all the time. Basically you have to attack a unaware enemies and stunlock them or they will kill you in 2-3 hits. The ending is pure dogshit too. Goes for a Bioshock-style twist and misses the mark horribly. Overall a 7/10 game at best.
> attack a unaware
*attack unaware
>immersive sim
the gayest genre in existence
It's not a genre, it's a game development philosophy
Meh. It's more like the worst fucking name in existence. Watch this thread turn to shit while everyone autisticly screeches at each other about what is or isn't an immersive sim. I just Thief, man.
I'm a long time Arkane fan but dropped Prey half way through because it felt so empty. I think it was because there are no other characters, only voice recordings. And the constant anxiety over the creepy enemies. It's an eerie and meaningless experience. But can't fault the immersive sim elements.
Dishonoured, deathloop and Dark Messiah actually have SOVL
why is it always the most dogshit unpopular games you lot shill
The game has been out for 6 years retard there's nothing to shill
i spend about 1-2h in the starting room because it was so beautiful
Prey needed like 2 to 3 more enemy types. I just wish the first 30 minutes were skippable in new game modes.
>I just wish the first 30 minutes were skippable in new game modes.
not sure about 30 minutes but you can clip out of the bathroom in morgan's apartment which lets you skip to the lobby pretty fast
>Prey needed like 2 to 3 more enemy types.
devs would just make more shapes that would fire orbs at you
fucking boring trash. who reads all those garbage low quality texts
Yeah I have played Skyrim
Yeah, Prey's great. Replayed it recently still had a blast. Wish there was a proper end boss though, Apex just looking cool and being a glorified stage hazard while you go through the same few rooms is Eh. Ending is great though.
Of course, one of the best games of all time.
