No you're not. You just want attention by remaking the same contrarian thread for the 100th time.

Yeah, I'm sure the marvelous literal, convincted scam-artists that gave us such amazing titles like Quiet Man and Rune 2, as well as the absolute majority of Redfall, would do a great job with this scam.

Don't worry though. You'll get to see more of their fantastic software engineering soon, considering they are back with Bethesda and developing their next "proper" real major game.

The only way you could be mad is if you're an absolute braindead moron stupid enough to fall for E3 presentation scams and somehow missed the fact that this was being developed by the same team that later made Quiet Man and Rune 2 which were both complete garbage.
Also the original Prey wasn't even that great. The weapons were boring as frick, the level design past the first level sucked, and the fact that there was literally no consequence to dying made it an absolute snoozefest.

Are you people moronic or something?
The dev started with the same team than Prey, the fact that the studio turned to shit in 10 years doesn't matter and isn't an argument against Prey 2.

      >Quiet Man and Rune 2 which were both complete garbage.
Rune 2 wasn't just garbage. It was a literal scam, and ended up with both the entire team of former Human Head, and Bethesda, being charged with fraud and industrial sabotage.
The last courte hearing on the subject apparently happened late 2023, unfortunately I can't get to the court protocols.

          >Bethesda killed the fricking studio you groid.
Not only did they not kill them. They actually managed to keep them alive 2 full years after the studio was by all means supposed to be killed, and then, 6 years later, they literally fricking directly conspired with the studio, sabotaged Rune, and then offered every single person involved a comfy place at home, even fricking paying their fricking laywers after they got sued to hell and back.

Bethesda and Human Head were ALWAYS working together. From the start. Bethesda - more specific a small group of Bethesda's upper management that has close ties to Human Head, have always been working together to se the damn studio as a vehicle for industrial scams. Prey 2 was to scam the shit out of their own investors. Quiet Man was to scam the shit out of that fricking moron Fujinaga, Rune 2 was to con the shit out of Ragnarok, and Redfall was to kill what was left of Arkane, to make sure for their triumphant return back to where it all started.

Fricking read up on what happened with Rune 2. I dare you you fricking mongoloid, to read up on that history, and tell me that was not 100% pre-meditated, massive fricking scam, and an obvious conclusion to a 10 years long running series of cons.

Prey 2 never existed. It was a sham of a development that served exclusively to feed HH. When the investors caught wind of it, and forced the funding to stop, Bethesda immediately re-hired HH to work on Brink, to keep feeding them money for as long as humanly possible.

And the only reason why HH separated from HH is purely because they realized, they can scam another 2 or 3 companies on their own before going back to Zeni's little warm cosy embrace.
Who has been preparing for their triumphant return this whole time. Arkane was killed so that HH could come back. The sole reason why Beth pushed the name "Prey" for Arkane's Project Danielle was SPECIFICALLY to open space for their friends at HH get attention again. Which lead to Rune 2.

This has all the same characteristics as a flat earther screaming about space being fake because eclipses exist. Take your meds.

            >Prey 1 was a fluke carried by the Doom 3 engine
Prey 1 was absolute pile of trash that actually only got away thanks to massive false advertising campaign and absurdly frontloaded Demo and it's licenced soundtrack, and the game itself was a massive, MASSIVE comercial failure in the end, one that killed 3D Realms in the first place.
Oh yeah, and a fun fact. HH announced Prey 2 without even consulting it with the owner of the IP, which is such a fantastic illustration of the sheer amount of scumminess these people are involved in.

You never played the game and it shows. You don't know anything about games either if you think Prey killed 3D Realms. Duke Nukem Forever and the neverending reboots of its development did that. Anyone who isn't some clueless zoomer knows this.

They did it to keep the trademark alive. That is the only reason to use that name other than to spit in faces.

    >Human Head
There’s no way it would have been good. Prey 1 was a fluke carried by the Doom 3 engine and a decade of foundational design work done by 3D Realms before they contracted out the final stages of development. All the cool bio-horror and Indian spiritualism shit came from Tom Hall of id fame and the other project leads who succeeded him; Human Head merely brought the concept to a playable state.

From the trailer, Prey 2 looked generic as frick and had very little to do with the original other than some basic sci-fi tropes. It could have been called something like “Alien Hunter” and nothing would have been lost; I wouldn’t be surprised if Bethesda did the same thing they did with Prey 2017 and slapped the license on an originally-unrelated concept to help it sell.

          >Prey 1 was actually a moderate hit and was profitable.
It absolutely was not, especially considering the fact that it was in development for 8 fricking years.
It had a large initial surge of sales, again, 100% due to explicitly false advertising, the demo that made everyone think that it's technically impressive, and the one licenced song.
Immediately after the initial surge of sales, they sale numbers dropped drastically, ending up not even covering the part of the development that HH has been responsible, and that is to say nothing of the 5 years of prior development by other studios, namely DIP and 3DEA - all of which was burning 3D Realm's cash.

3D Realms went under because all they knew how to do was make vaporware. Human Head turned Prey into a pretty polished game. It sold over 1 million copies at full price in a couple months, which was a lot in 2006.
3D Realms sat on shit like Prey and DNF forever until it got handed to other studios. That's why they collapsed, not the imaginary failure of Prey.

              >3D Realms went under because all they knew how to do was make vaporware.
Yes. Including Prey. Which again, was in development for 8 - no, hold that, 11. FRICKING. YEARS.
The first announcent of Prey was literally in 1995.

              >It sold over 1 million copies at full price in a couple months, which was a lot in 2006.
Nowhere near enough to cover the OBSCENE amount of money that they sunk into that piece of shit. You have no clue how much they fricking spend on this gargbage. Prey 1 was one of the most expensive games of it's time, and 1 million sales in 2006, total, because again the sales drop-off was obscene, was nothing. I would like to point out that this game came out a year after FEAR. Fear sold 2 million in the first month, with literally fraction of the marketing budget, and that game was developed in development since 2003.

              >Duke Nukem Forever and the neverending reboots of its development did that
"this game totally did not kill 3D Realms. It's just the money they sunk into it and never got back that killed them!"
Prey was supposed to save 3D Realms. That is why so much money went into it's final version, and especially into the marketing.
Sure. 3D realms was in shit for a while. But Prey was an absolute failure, and at the time, it costed them more than the entirety of Duke Forever. Only a fricking zoomer who only heard of Duke actually does not know the absolutely insane history behind Prey. The engine boogaloo. The 1998 leaked footage. The KMFDM stunt. The initial League of Native American's pushback. The whole fricking shitshow. I was there for all of it, you cretin.
