And honestly? It should get way more of it

sorry ugh I know I'm supposed to be angry at trivial stuff like the race of the protagonist and his haircut but I don't really care is all HAHAHAHAHA it looks fun but ubisoft sucks so it probably will be meh.

this. From this wording of OP, it's obviously an ubishill thread. we can only hope the game passes without anyone noticing like the AC

I think its more Ubisoft taking the "theres no such thing as bad publicity" route and are paying shills to pretend that anyone really gives a shit about any of their games when they're all forgettable garbage. I'm guessing a fricking tiny minority of the userbase of this shithole has played the initial reboot of the game, let alone the actual original game. I would not have known that they were making a new Prince of Persia game if some goblin wasn't constantly making threads about it and getting paid a rupee per post.

From what I remember this game had low sales because of PoP name, even though it was a banger.

        Anonymous

Other way around. It sold only because of the name but the gameplay was atrocious. Combat was horrendous, and it was vital in previous game because it broke up the parkour/puzzles. There was also no use of sands, instead when you fell the game would just plop you right back to where you fell offf, so you could try the jump as many times as you like.

I have nothing to apologise for, I loved it since the day I got it
I wouldn't say it's my favourite PoP game, but the things it got right, it got really right.

That cliffhanger ending was the worst. Game was so good I was hoping for a sequel.

I very much enjoyed this game even as a Hardcore PoP original trilogy fan. It's by no means a reboot of those games but taking away the name, it was fun whimsical and comfy to play. could of been it's own standalone franchise tbh, not like people haven't made stuff that makes people think "that's like PoP" anyway.

Who the bell was the prince in this version?

        >a pauper prince
        >a prince of thieves
        something like that
mightve gotten developed in the sequel but he's mostly a composite trope character like Han Solo

I really liked it, hated that the DLC was console-only though. I wish they made a sequel instead of releasing The Forgotten Sands.

Why do prince of persia games exist in 2024 with no time manipulation mechanics?

the original series was based on a timer and a novel approach to time, albeit nothing mechanically interesting
then sands of time made it the whole fricking thing
and now the mechanic is ur a kang?

Nobody needs a Black person mutt MC in a game about Central Asia. This is not AC.

I don't like the Prince design. He looks like a hood rat. The gameplay though looks good from what I've seen of it.

You aren't the prince. You are rescuing him or some thing. Why they decided on that set up I don't know.

It's the same concept that turned into Assassin's Creed. It was originally a Prince of Persia game where you played as a bodyguard to the prince.

    >your guy of Caucasian descent needs a more blacker haircut so we can show how "not Caucasian" he is.
Then don't make a Prince of Persia game. Persians are Caucasian.

The more I look at screenshots of Sargon the more and more he looks African to me. It just doesn’t make sense. You already had a diverse protagonist, why shoehorn in an African?

Law of Mutt Media - As a Western IP gets older, the probability of shoehorned nogs approaches 1.

It's literally just his hairdo. Nobody would give a shit about 'PoP reboot with new main character' otherwise, considering it's not even the first time this happened (or the first edgelord protagonist for that matter)
But it will probably be a middling game with excessive and tryhard cinematic/narrative elements.

This is the last time, we promise. Any changes made after this game to the main character of "Prince of Persia" will be considered a problematic cultural appropriation.

It looks good. The Prince's design is dogshit but because I'm not a troony or a woman I don't care that much about the way he looks. The actual quality of the game itself interests me more
