X and Y actually did have 3D functionality but only during battles (and it'll put your performance in the single digits)
Sun and Moon is the one that didn't have 3D functionality at all.
Which meant that, for once, they learned their fricking lesson. They also proceeded to put Gen VI in the proverbial fricking garbage bin of the franchise for good.
>Ruined any respect or relevance Ashnime had left
This isn't true, it was the first time the anime had been relevant in the "mainstream" for years, which is part of the reason the backlash was so big.
But people wouldn't have tuned into the finale at all if the rest of the series wasn't good or promising, why do you think nobody gave a shit when he lost in BW?
>why do you think nobody gave a shit when he lost in BW?
Because it's fricking Ash, he was always a non-character protag that sucked and was only very popular when the anime was mainstream stuff and slightly better than how it was in the XY era, but that time has long since passed. No one gave a shit about Ash and the anime anymore, as they should have.
But then people "flocked back" to XY, not because it was good mind you, but because it went full "shonen" and "shonen" shows are very popular with western fans, because of that it gave fans the impression that Ash would grow as a "character" and win the league for once.
Well, guess what? Neither did he become an actual "character", he also didn't "grow". He did not win the league, he lost in an humiliating manner once again, and once again the writers shrugged that off and didn't even give a proper conclusion to their shonenesque shipbait plotline with Serena. If we consider everything that happened with the anime after XY relevant, than XY only served to show what everyone already knew, Ash became boring after Pokemania and the anime did not matter anymore. If we go by today's standards in the franchise's current condition, XY is less than nothing.
That's a very weird way to look at media and art in general.
XY provided value in bringing excitement back to the Pokemon anime, you had more people coming into the series, discussing it weekly, theorizing what would happen and getting excited - that experience on its own already gives it a lot of value.
Did it last? Of course not, but longevity doesn't define an experience, there was a lot of entertainment value in XY as it was airing, both within the show itself and in the discussion surrounding it, and it's something the Pokemon seasons since haven't really been able to recapture.
Even with Ash winning the M8 and retiring the most you got out of that was people talking about it for like one day.
>XY provided value in bringing excitement back to the Pokemon anime
you talk like a suit trying to sell a pitch. none of that matters if the show was of low quality, which it was. >there was a lot of entertainment value in XY as it was airing
yes >in the discussion surrounding it
yes >in the show itself
no. that's precisely the problem.
Pre-rendered or not that's clearly a completely different model with a much higher polygon count. No amount of lighting and geometry shaders with hd textures running any number of passes is gonna turn the stadium models into the pokedex 3d models. If it could pic related wouldn't be so out of place in battle revolution which DID reuse the stadium models. If you're gonna hate on stuff at least know what you're talking about instead of blindly slinging shit like an infant throwing a tantrum.
Idk about best but i just started this after watching all of gen 5 anime and i went from wanting to stop to wanting to watch one more. frick iris holy frick what a terrible person jesus
Games have been stuck in a rut since yellow, and yellow had problems to lol
>produces all the 3D assets to be used for the next decade
Yes but uh you see...we uh..can't use those assets to bring all the Pokémon to the newer generations because uh...animations or something
This person spent more than 70 days playing one game, and the rest of the games on that chart are pokemon, too. If you think that this looks normal enough that they should have enough time to play more games then I don't know what to tell you.

SM had 3D for the Pokemon Snap-like feature.

I mean what was the anime before that? I think what dragged people into X&Y were the battles animated.

Put generic shonen trash on anything and you'll attract hordes of self-inserters
>retconned in the series, going as far as deleting ash gren
>ugly models were removed and the games have sold better than ever
Hmm...
>produces all the 3D assets to be used for the next decade
But enough about gen 5
>Pokemon stadium models
>the colors are vibrant and saturated rather than dull and boring so they must be Pokemon stadium models
Smartest of all kalosperm

>bort dosent understand how 3d models work
Typical
>apply enough smoothing to a shape and it'll become a completely different shape
You know just enough to embarrass yourself in public, congrats!
none of that is true
>Best anime seasons.
>So good that major part of it was outright retconned 2 gens later.
Laughable.

Assets were made and not touched for 10 years... ah yes, such innovation...
STOP REPLYING TO FAMON THREADS
FAMON IS A moronic Hispanic MONKEY THAT DOES NOT DESERVE ATTENTION
Thank you Kalos... truly the best Pokemon experience ever.

This is why nobody takes this fandom's homosexualy opinions seriously
>3ds is the only way to play games
Based mega moron mongoloid.
Spending 1752 hours on one game usually implies that they don't play much else
No it doesnt.
