every witcher game, and a bunch of self insert rpgs. It's a lazy and convenient writing crutch that lets the writers have a reason the main character needs to be told everything
>Link needs to relearn how to use sword and bow >Samus needs to relearn how to use powerups >Trainer needs to relearn what is a pokèmon and how to capture them
>protagonist has memory loss as a dropped plot point thinks he's a serial killer >other protagonist whose thoughts you can listen to never thinks about being the serial killer
truly subverted my expectations with that one david
Ghost Trick >protagonist has memory loss >Mainly because he's mistaken about who he was at first. if he realized who he really was earlier, his memory would have come back pretty quickly
I remember it coming up exactly once in the early game and an easily missed 2 sentence lore dump. Other than that, the only time it has an effect on the plot is a single time for the orphanage plot twist, and then it literally never comes up again.
every witcher game, and a bunch of self insert rpgs. It's a lazy and convenient writing crutch that lets the writers have a reason the main character needs to be told everything
Every Zelda game
Every Metroid game
Every Pokemon game
But it's ok when Nintendo does it.
when does link/samus/pokemon trainer lose their memories?
The only one I can think of is botw link. Although, I don't know anything about metroid so maybe she does too at some point.
>Link needs to relearn how to use sword and bow
>Samus needs to relearn how to use powerups
>Trainer needs to relearn what is a pokèmon and how to capture them
Samus doesn't have to relearn a fricking thing, her suits powers are usually ganked in some way prior to the mission.
