The devs are hacks, Youshi or however you spell his stupid name told people who asked for healer rotations to be more intricate and not one fricking button to "go play ultimate". They don't want to design interesting and fun jobs, they want to design schlock with 1 to 3 button rotations cause they know their plebeian playerbase can't handle anything above that skill level.
I still had fun, I didn't delete my account and I have it waiting if I do wanna go back, but my god, between the cult like abrasive community, fraud devs, and boring class design, it all turns me right back off.
That being said Elder is cool, but realistically it's not a huge game changer since you can save a lot of time by using a normal magicite to skip a nasty floor instead. Still, I did have one when I cleared too, and it was nice since I didn't have to worry about how much time I needed to kill the floor 90 boss.

The gameplay is somewhere between a rhythm game and a fighting game. You have an ideal combo route (your rotation) you wish to execute every time for maximum damage (fighting game) and to do this you will press keys at specific intervals (rhythm game).
Except you're the very worst parts of both of those games. The rhythm never changes except OGCD skills you weave in (sometimes interesting, often not) and the combo (ideally) never changes although you might have to pick up or start over depending on what happens in the encounter, but it is the same every time. You don't have the depth that a fighting game has for character specific combos, counterhit, applying meter, etc. If you're distilling the experience as closely to the same thing every time, you're a good MMO player. That's boring gameplay.
That's just my gameplay critique, the story is absolute dogshit but I'll save that for another day
