Resident Evil: Dead Aim. I played it with both the Guncon 2 and controller, and the controller is just fine. It's short but a lot of fun.

Or better, buy one of those AV to HDMI adapters on chinkexpress for like 10usd, you power them with the same damn USB port from the PS2
no that will look like ass av is only 240p while through composite you can get full 480p on games that support it, also open ps2 loader has some resolution settings and driver for ps3 controller
I bought one for mine and it looks fine, I get an 720p signal upscaled out from it, more than enough imo.
I also have both S-video and composite cables too, the adapter is much closer to composite, but with a slightly lower brightness, which I just fixed by bumping the TV brightness a bit more, works well.
Component gives you 480p. Composite are the regular AV cables.

Dragon Quest VIII is one of the most beautiful games on the PS2. Insane how cut down the garbage 3DS port was. Also nuJessica voice sucks compared to original.
Also it's worth going back to Shadow of the Colossus to see how much better the art direction was in the PS2 version. The remaster and later the remake both ruined it.

good for you op, I did that too, found a nice JVC crt and I'm having a blast on it, I also got other consoles and modded them, anyway I recommend getting a wii too, you can play wii and gc games on it and emulate nes, snes and genesis on it as well instead of buying those consoles if you're on a budget

Tenkaichi 3 is the best fighter on the platform, Oni is a gem if you haven't played, Elder ring by fromsoft was neat, spongebob the movie game is unironically a great platformer, and if you have a hard drive there's the final fantasy games

I use a Retrotink 5x, well worth the money, so no CRT for me. I also use a Brooks adapter for the controller, I use a PS4 controller.
So, I'm not about 100% sticking to 2003.
