PS2 has a monster of a library so I wanted to check with Ganker for the niche stuff.
I recently beat Initial D Special Stage after grueling my head against the races for a few weeks, they were quite intense, and enjoying the eurobeat.
Anyone has something not usually talked about they remember? Hacks and stuff too, I guess.
PS2 is overrated as frick and was the gen that marked the downfall of gaming into shallow, mindless style over substance.
I don't care, I enjoy games on it. If you don't wanna talk about them then go complain about how PS5 has no gaymes or some shit.
Nah the honors for ruining gaming forever goes to the Xbox 360, the worst console of all time. Assuming yours didn't red ring several times, it heralded micro transactions and every game became homogenous shootbang slop . PS2 has a wide variety of expression gameplay and art wise.
So sayeth the tendie

How is steambot chronicles not on this list?
I don't know. It made in 2016 and I fished it from the archive some time ago. Tell me about the game.
There's an updated version on the Ganker recommendation wiki. I'd post the picture, but the file size is too large. Here's the link, though:

Nice.
Because there's four and a half thousand games on the PS2 and nobody has actually bothered to take a look at what's actually on there.
So these lists are just the same handful of games being recommended over and over.
There's plenty of youtube videos showcasing every PS2 game, with 10s of thousands of views. I personally went through one of those and put together a backlog for myself, you can easily do the same. Here's some lesser known games I can recommend
Kaido - Touge no Densetsu
Sega Rally 2006
Battle Gear 3
Shadow Tower Abyss
Gundam: The One Year War
Gundam: Encounters in Space
Robot Alchemic Drive
OutRun: Sega Ages 2500 Volume 14
Densha de Go! Ryojouhen
Gundam: Gundam vs. Zeta Gundam
Gundam: Federation vs. Zeon DX
Gundam: AEUG vs. Titans
King of Fighters: Maximum Impact Regulation A
>and I enjoyed the eurobeat*
I gotta spellcheck more.
Best track, by the way.
Armored Core w/ that analog hack
Shrek Smash n Crash
Hey Ganker, wanna' see a magic trick?
Sure
Keep shitposting, I'm not read yet.
Are you done now?
Ta-da! Still more games than the PS3. :3c
Maybe.
It's been 24 years and it's the most sold Console in the whole world and your image shows why.
Yeah but I want to know some hidden gems from it that only Ganker likes.
I liked this game
Alright, what did you like about it?
Combat was fun the atmosphere is pretty nice it's weird in a good way
Alright, I'll try and give it a shot.
I played that one. It's worth a rental, but it's not great.
Maximo
Lets guess, War of the Monsters not there?
Maximo: Ghosts to Glory is very good and appropriately niche but it should probably be in the platformer part of that picture, it's more of one than the Ratchet sequels are. iirc Insomniac did an internal presentation thing once where they referred to them as shooters with platforming elements (versus the first R&C being a platformer with shooting elements).
