I remember when we first got our Ps3 for Christmas and it had the original black dark theme. You could change it to any other color, and they eventually updated the firmware with sparkles in the back which was even more beautiful, but you could only have the black theme in the account screen. Every color but black and to this day across Ps4 and PS5 you can't get that original black theme anymore.

I still regularly play my PS3 because it has the biggest library of actually worthwhile console exclusives that you can't get wothout emulation on any other platform. PS3 games still hold up sonwell today, they're are still better than almost anything on PS5.

The custom themes were the best I've ever seen on any system ever.
I'm seething massively that the PS5 doesn't have themes or some sort of a "no selection" panel where you can just look at the lines and dots of lights
I bought one of those fake anime pinup girls and replaced the background.
The icons were better than the actual background so I just used it for that.
Truly was the best of times for most gamers.
