I played and beat it, it's only like 2 hours long, dude. 0 replay value. It's pretty fun, totally worth the price, but it feels like a tech demo. I hope they're able to incorporate a lot of the ideas and mechanics to another game in the future.

It really depends on whether or not you blitz through story missions or take your time trying to find side content tbh. Similar kind of deal with stuff like Bomb Rush or Anodyne 2.
I think part of my issue is that I keep accidentally sequence breaking. I got the charged strike and nowhere to use it on, then I spent a good 30 to 60 minutes on a jump section I should have realized was impossible without the wall run. But I made it to the pole so I thought it was possible to do with just kicks.
AFAIK the rooms are designed to allow multiple methods, I did not backflip once in my entire run, if you know that + have the 4th kick upgrade you don't need the wall slide thing in a lot of places that look impossible otherwise from what I've seen
Honestly the gameplay is some of the best 3D platforming and movement I've experienced in a new game for a long while, but I otherwise do not like the visual design whatsoever. Most of it is just bland castle interiors without much going on. Fun as frick to play but there's otherwise nothing memorable about it, whereas most of the classic and beloved 3D platformers it seems to draw influence from have memorable designs and levels.

I can buy full game 3D platformers on steam that might not have as good movement tech, but they deliver something more than that.

The first version made for a competition was made in 3 weeks. The Steam version took quite a bit longer. I've seen the dev post about "efining it for Steam for months.

Finished the game literally today. Didn't make a map (didn't need one, the game was surprisingly memorable in terms of rooms) but did keep a notepad checklist of places to go back to, lines as simple as "Keep - block path" to give context. Game felt great though a slow burn start. The areas once completed felt amazing as you know you basically will never have to touch like 20% of the map ever again. The only thing I hated was the lackluster final boss and the ending. Had to google if there was a good ending or something because it literally felt like killing Richter on SotN in terms of how easy and lacking it felt. For the journey alone the game was good but once you get all 5 golden keys the game may as well be over in terms of impact it gave me. The most upsetting thing is that literally the only real change from the free gamejam version and it was shit. Just play the gamejam version, you literally aren't missing anything of value and still get the full game completely legally. It is somehow more of a scam than Loophero in terms of gamejam vs final product to give you an idea of how little had changed if you had play that.

Just the ending mostly. No boss fight but the boss fight was shit anyway. Beside for that it just minor changes and graphical stuff. Switches look odd and might be place farther away on the final product so you can't hit it through a door or something. The rooms are more or less the exact same though. Watch a speedrun of a gamejam ver and the final product. Like ending aside there is maybe a diff of like 5-6 rooms at most.
Amaze me if speedrunners would be that shit on such a simple boss. I didn't even need to heal and fought it completely blind just fine. Even at 3 health I feel a normal non-upgraded heal is enough to carry you to a win.

It shorter than SotN even when blind though it will feel more longer due to back tracking and just finding the progression abilities. Exploring the map and being lost is honestly the good part though. Once you learn the map and beaten the game there is zero replay value unless you count speedrunning as replay value. Movement feel great but not so great that I would ever feel like playing it again. Honestly if after the five keys there was an additional area that assume you have all of the upgrades then it might be worth but a huge chunk of the game literally assume you can only walk, jump and climb. Nothing more and it kinda suffers for that.
Pseudoregalia was fine, although you can really tell it was a game jam game that had a bit of extra development after the fact. Just some little more work, like sprinkling additional details (so to make some surroundings or areas more unique), as well as maybe optional storybits could do wonders, but for a seven dollar game? Eh, I guess it's alright. Just don't feel like revisiting after beating it.

I played and beat it, it's only like 2 hours long, dude. 0 replay value. It's pretty fun, totally worth the price, but it feels like a tech demo. I hope they're able to incorporate a lot of the ideas and mechanics to another game in the future.

It really depends on whether or not you blitz through story missions or take your time trying to find side content tbh. Similar kind of deal with stuff like Bomb Rush or Anodyne 2.
I think part of my issue is that I keep accidentally sequence breaking. I got the charged strike and nowhere to use it on, then I spent a good 30 to 60 minutes on a jump section I should have realized was impossible without the wall run. But I made it to the pole so I thought it was possible to do with just kicks.
AFAIK the rooms are designed to allow multiple methods, I did not backflip once in my entire run, if you know that + have the 4th kick upgrade you don't need the wall slide thing in a lot of places that look impossible otherwise from what I've seen
I'm 4 hours in and I still don't have all the abilities. Granted, this isn't the kind of game I usually play.

Honestly the gameplay is some of the best 3D platforming and movement I've experienced in a new game for a long while, but I otherwise do not like the visual design whatsoever. Most of it is just bland castle interiors without much going on. Fun as frick to play but there's otherwise nothing memorable about it, whereas most of the classic and beloved 3D platformers it seems to draw influence from have memorable designs and levels.

I can buy full game 3D platformers on steam that might not have as good movement tech, but they deliver something more than that.

The real sad part is that a literal who dev can do quite a bit of animations he didn't even have to do for his basically proof of concept $6 game like Sybil doing a leg stand on top of poles or multiple sitting poses and average indieBlack person or even more AAA devs cannot. Gaming is really in decline.

yep. wish he released at the very least a level editor or something. got pretty excited when I got all the upgrades thinking the platforming would get even more insane, but then the game just ends.
Finished the game literally today. Didn't make a map (didn't need one, the game was surprisingly memorable in terms of rooms) but did keep a notepad checklist of places to go back to, lines as simple as "Keep - block path" to give context. Game felt great though a slow burn start. The areas once completed felt amazing as you know you basically will never have to touch like 20% of the map ever again. The only thing I hated was the lackluster final boss and the ending. Had to google if there was a good ending or something because it literally felt like killing Richter on SotN in terms of how easy and lacking it felt. For the journey alone the game was good but once you get all 5 golden keys the game may as well be over in terms of impact it gave me. The most upsetting thing is that literally the only real change from the free gamejam version and it was shit. Just play the gamejam version, you literally aren't missing anything of value and still get the full game completely legally. It is somehow more of a scam than Loophero in terms of gamejam vs final product to give you an idea of how little had changed if you had play that.

Just the ending mostly. No boss fight but the boss fight was shit anyway. Beside for that it just minor changes and graphical stuff. Switches look odd and might be place farther away on the final product so you can't hit it through a door or something. The rooms are more or less the exact same though. Watch a speedrun of a gamejam ver and the final product. Like ending aside there is maybe a diff of like 5-6 rooms at most.

Amaze me if speedrunners would be that shit on such a simple boss. I didn't even need to heal and fought it completely blind just fine. Even at 3 health I feel a normal non-upgraded heal is enough to carry you to a win.
Not convinced to play a game that's too short. I'm also not convinced to play a game that's too long if it were the opposite case. Somewhere around Symphony of the Night's game completion time should be good.

It shorter than SotN even when blind though it will feel more longer due to back tracking and just finding the progression abilities. Exploring the map and being lost is honestly the good part though. Once you learn the map and beaten the game there is zero replay value unless you count speedrunning as replay value. Movement feel great but not so great that I would ever feel like playing it again. Honestly if after the five keys there was an additional area that assume you have all of the upgrades then it might be worth but a huge chunk of the game literally assume you can only walk, jump and climb. Nothing more and it kinda suffers for that.

Pseudoregalia was fine, although you can really tell it was a game jam game that had a bit of extra development after the fact. Just some little more work, like sprinkling additional details (so to make some surroundings or areas more unique), as well as maybe optional storybits could do wonders, but for a seven dollar game? Eh, I guess it's alright. Just don't feel like revisiting after beating it.
It's super fun to do dirty speed runs. Just sequence breaking everything with your favorite power ups
