I want to run a game with a Pulp/50s Comicbook feel. What are the best systems?

I've heard good things about Pulp Cthulhu. And I'll always go up to bat for Interlock too.
I recommend Sentinel Comics RPG.
savage worlds
it's our group's default system for...most things, but it's undeniably built with pulp stuff in mind
Everywhen
Savage worlds has a pretty fun fast-paced pulpey system that is adaptable to most types of settings though it does best with pure pulp.
A lot of people here don't like it because it doesn't really have a long-term trajectory, but it's pretty fun.
Theoretically rifts could also do pretty good. Although that might be more cyber noir depending on where you set it.
There is a few good spy games with that retro 60s feel that might be good but I can't remember any
Fate is a pretty good pic for Pulp games as long as you can get over all the aspect/invoke/boost stuff.
Pulp Cthulhu or one of the d6 systems based on WEG's Star Wars.
Definitely pic related. Mini Six is lighter and faster but has less material for the new GM.
Relevant.
I read the thumbnail as "Micropenis".
Stop thinking about wiener.
"Micropendejo" here.
Anyone got recs for pulpy fiction?
Doc Savage anything
"Pulp" is a pretty wide genre. It's barely a genre at any. What do you like?
Are you interested in the classics, or recent stuff could do, too?
All media, or just literature?
Looking for fiction with shamelessly hypercompetent chad protagonists who get girls. The only time they take losses is when it either gets resolved quickly or it's a set up for an even bigger win. (Just to clarify, this isn't all I enjoy, but I can't deny how much fun it is). None of the angsty woe is me fair the recent bond films have had.
All media is fine. I know it's not "pulp" per se but in the same vein I like reacher on Amazon prime, the white collar tv show, the movie limitless and the xianxia genre.
*Also, not related but what the frick do people like about the movie pulp fiction? It's hard to research actual pulp fiction without just things about that movie cropping up. I've seen it but it's..OK I guess? I watched it when I was much younger though, might be better on a second watch.
John Carter of Mars
See
and really everything by Edgar Rice Burroughs - what you're asking for is literally almost his entire body of work. He wrote men's fiction after explicitly reading some trash pulp story and thinking "Even I could do better than this" I wrote the kinds of stories early 20th century fiction dorks wanted to read.
The first 3 Gor books also aren't nearly as bad as the reputation of the latter books have unfortunately tarnished them with. They have a few genuinely neat ideas in them, not super original but neat.
As for Pulp Fiction, it won't mean anything unless you're able to buy into Tarantino's main gimmick of structuring the film thematically rather than narratively which is an impressive gimmick and does have some interesting implications about the way we see our lives and process the events that happen to us but you can't let yourself be tricked into thinking it's deeper than it is. It's a movie I think has every right to exist and I'm glad it was made but now that it's been done we don't need another one.
> I wrote
Damn, I blew my cover.
You managed to blow yourself and you're COMPLAINING??? Do you know how many famous people urban legend has it that removed ribs to accomplish that same feat?
You, sir, are now legend.
People also forget the crazy stunt-casting that was John Travolta, and this was in a time before crazy stunt casting was the norm. It's also easy to forget but this was sort of the movie that gave us Sam Jackson, which was novel then, but he's essentially just been playing Jules non stop since then so it's easy to miss the significance.
Read the Conan stories that REH wrote.
The Spider. Take The Shadow, make him more like The Punisher, and imagine the writer snorting cocaine before every writing session.
Literally Savage Worlds
GURPS
Either Pulp Cthulhu or Hollow Earth Expedition
>b-but 50s
Literally doesn't matter, you replace nazis with commies and it's all swell
Also, technically Wushu, but it leans heavily into over-the-top nonsense.
What's your tolerance for narrative mechanics and other Forgeshit?
I don't believe you read many pulp/50s comic books
And that invalidates OP's question for game recommendations... how, exactly?
Isn't being a c**t tiresome in the long run?
You grossly underestimate the staying power of the average c**t, my good sir.
Troubleshooters tries to emulate 60s Franco-Belgian comics.
Lower level Hero System is underrated but this as a source book is top tier and worth getting no matter the game system you actually use.
EPICS pretty light system that uses literal Plot Armor instead of HP and assumes that characters start up with minimal information about them and will be fleshed out during the game as challenges come up. Players are mechanically rewarded when they put limitations on their characters during play.
Lands of Mystery for Juctice, Inc. is an excellent campaign supplement for the Lost Worlds type of pulp story.
The system for JI is perhaps creaky for today but it is also good as a sourcebook. Also see Astounding Adventures for BRP.
Opinions on Broken Compass?

I dunno? What can you tell me about it?
