FF16 is Maehiro's work and is pretty rape-happy. FF14 alludes to rape pretty often but the biggest points of it are ARR-Heavensward (Maehiro's work) and Stormblood (not Maehiro's work, Ishikawa's and Oda's)

They're totally holding on to it for the most dramatic/appropiate moment. That's why they said it's random. Having that timeskip is useless if all it does is that we travel back to the First, see Ryne with a new design, and immediately go "Huh, that's neat, oh well back to stopping the Final Days/Zeromus, hope you're still alive the next time I visit guys."
As much shit as they get, healers tend to have the most experience of anyone in the group. Given any set of 4 people, if you had to guess which one is the most capable, the healer is the safest bet.
DPS is what you play after you've been drinking a bit. Zero responsibility, yet 50% can't play their class right and ACT shows it. Healers outdamage them half the time on AOE pulls.
Tanks are a mixed bag. Lots of Leeroy Jenkins types that should be playing DPS doing moronic shit their gear or skill can't handle then yell at the healer, but most tanks are considerate and well-played. If they aren't confident, they'll usually say they're learning and give you a heads up. Typical leaders and team players are drawn to tanking.
But out of all of them, healers are the most consistently skilled. When you don't know a fight, you can usually just follow the healer around and things work out.

I find them to be the worst things to pick up randomly. DPS thresholds are really low in this game so even if you are the worst dps player you rarely will even see enrage. Healers range from the 0 damage noobs who die to the first mechanic, to the prima donna savage raiders that get fellated by their group so they don't leave; who won't bother to toss a heal to someone who is learning the fight because it was outside of their ogcds. Random healers are the worst to leave to chance.
Still disagree. It's just the hardest role to frick up and most people don't give a shit as long as people are alive, which is mostly on the individual player than the healers in this game.
I mean, on paper, you're not technically wrong. Healers tend to be the ones who know the AOEs, how to avoid them, and will most always be the players with the dorito hanging above their heads. But at same time, healers have got to be the single most toxic, cancerous type of player in FFXIV.
Did a player suddenly ditch the alliance raid at the very beginning of the instance? It was probably a healer. Did a healer complain that a DRK was too squishy during Tower of Babil and ditch mid run? Definitely a healer. Who is the first to speak during any raid tell another job how to do their job? Almost always a healer. Basically, healers are the karens of any one party. Most DPS and tanks I've partied with tend to keep their mouths shut, are pretty chill, and know how to get their point across without being obnoxious c**ts about it.
do you blame us? we're always the ones dragging the tards and most of the time in light parties we're the only rezzers, so if we eat it then everyone does. though i consider it a personal failure if i can't drag them kicking and screaming across the finish line. also remember, my POV is skewed as i'm a healer, so i don't deal with other healers very often, thus my view is that tanks are prima donnas far more often.
there are 3 reasons to be a healer:

In a standard party comp the only important healer is the shield healer. The regen can die and it doesn't matter as long as there isn't an 8/8 check, even on ultimate.

I'm not going to spend 1500 characters doing a side-by-side comparison, but I can say for sure I enjoyed Eureka a lot more than Bozja. Bozja has the added issue of the dungeon no one does casually. Just PF elitest. That was a dumb addition.
I've loved Island Sanctuary. 10/15 minutes of attention a day, has given me enough materia for free to make 2 sets of pentamelded crafter's gear and 20 million gil after selling dyes with the leftover Cowries.
It's not even free.
You're time-gated out of the loot because the way the island works, you have to invest time while your sub is running to make as much crowries as possible.

the reality of xiv is that it has a huge backlog of story content that will keep a normal person subbed for months. the reason why current players feel like there is nothing to do and yet the game is still sitting at a million ‘active’ players is that 90% of those players are still going through the msq. reminder that variant has a 30% clear rate among ‘active’ players and criterion is at less than 1%

I tried the free trial. The gameplay sucks, the story is boring and apparently only gets good 500 hours in, it looks like shit, it's playerbase is full of gays and the devs keep making the game even more braindead to play.

It's improper. GG stands for "good game", which is an sportsmanship saying after a player vs player match. A group activity that isn't PvP doesn't lend itself for GG, and in FFXIV you can never talk to the enemy, so every writing gg is either moronic or ignorant. Either way, undeserving of a commendation.

Some of the most destructive and counter-productive members have ALWAYS been troons or biological women. It's always some clout-chasing story or complaint about how something sucks or some bullshit. If you don't side with them they think you're personally attacking them, too.
What gives? This game is full of simp patriarchs like that. They sic their entire horde of slaves on you if you call them out for it, too.

As much shit as they get, healers tend to have the most experience of anyone in the group. Given any set of 4 people, if you had to guess which one is the most capable, the healer is the safest bet.
DPS is what you play after you've been drinking a bit. Zero responsibility, yet 50% can't play their class right and ACT shows it. Healers outdamage them half the time on AOE pulls.
Tanks are a mixed bag. Lots of Leeroy Jenkins types that should be playing DPS doing moronic shit their gear or skill can't handle then yell at the healer, but most tanks are considerate and well-played. If they aren't confident, they'll usually say they're learning and give you a heads up. Typical leaders and team players are drawn to tanking.
But out of all of them, healers are the most consistently skilled. When you don't know a fight, you can usually just follow the healer around and things work out.

I find them to be the worst things to pick up randomly. DPS thresholds are really low in this game so even if you are the worst dps player you rarely will even see enrage. Healers range from the 0 damage noobs who die to the first mechanic, to the prima donna savage raiders that get fellated by their group so they don't leave; who won't bother to toss a heal to someone who is learning the fight because it was outside of their ogcds. Random healers are the worst to leave to chance.
Not even a healer main. Been doing caster DPS for 6 years. I call it like I see it. And healers tend to know their shit. Get over it.
Still disagree. It's just the hardest role to frick up and most people don't give a shit as long as people are alive, which is mostly on the individual player than the healers in this game.
I mean, on paper, you're not technically wrong. Healers tend to be the ones who know the AOEs, how to avoid them, and will most always be the players with the dorito hanging above their heads. But at same time, healers have got to be the single most toxic, cancerous type of player in FFXIV.
Did a player suddenly ditch the alliance raid at the very beginning of the instance? It was probably a healer. Did a healer complain that a DRK was too squishy during Tower of Babil and ditch mid run? Definitely a healer. Who is the first to speak during any raid tell another job how to do their job? Almost always a healer. Basically, healers are the karens of any one party. Most DPS and tanks I've partied with tend to keep their mouths shut, are pretty chill, and know how to get their point across without being obnoxious c**ts about it.
do you blame us? we're always the ones dragging the tards and most of the time in light parties we're the only rezzers, so if we eat it then everyone does. though i consider it a personal failure if i can't drag them kicking and screaming across the finish line. also remember, my POV is skewed as i'm a healer, so i don't deal with other healers very often, thus my view is that tanks are prima donnas far more often.
there are 3 reasons to be a healer:
